It's just what I thought! The planet all destroyed, and Wall-E singing that to Eva... :/ LOL

One of my favorite Coldplay songs. Of all. It sound unique, familiar and part of me. I don't know and can't explain why. About the lyrics, I believe it fits with both MM AND ETIAW. The difference is on the approach. The first sounds like a pursuiting, some of a dictature (is this right? damn not-my-native-language thing :angry:) that's being established. On the other hand, ETIAW is a celebration song. Like saying "We're going to win! And, even if we lose, WE'LL KEEP SINGING!!". And, even though the lyrics are a little silly in general, I like and respect ETIAW. Because they fulfill the meaning they're intended to. And then comes this FREAKING MASTERPIECE. This... Monument. MTM. That reminds me of Wall-E. Anyway. It fits the other two, like a following to MM. They escaped, at last! So now they have to fit in their new place (Mars here being a parallel to weird-and-unknown place), until they can go back to their real home. Beautifully related, beautifully played. That's what Coldplay's about.

The weirdest is that... I feel like I've known this song my whole life. Like I've been listening to it forever. Like I've written it myself. Like a part of me. It's... Amazing. Potencially because of that, I think this is my favorite song. It's unexplicable.

So, in my country we don't have iTunes Store with those songs available, and I can't buy abroad, so I had to extract the audio from the vid and MP3 it up. So, if anybody's interested, just PM me and I'll send the link.

ROFL! That was a good shout! :lol: I really loved this song too, but I'm still IN LOVE with Hurts Like Heaven :cool: For starters cause of the title itself, I love puns, so everytime I hear that the song is starting I smile automatically :smug:

Yeah, I wouldn't mind either, but since I think this is one of the oldest songs of this era, so probably the one they've worked the most, and they know as we know that is one of the greatest songs, I think they'll save it for the album itself :(

That's what I said in the other thread. They just wanted a very alive and catchy song to start the publicity on the album. The problem is that we expected way more. If you put that aside, it IS great song, for its purposes.

Yeah, I saw something akin, and I used a little of your idea - and credited it in the other thread :) - to complete what I had in mind since they release the single on Friday, when I heard ETIAW for 3 hours straight.

Maan, ETIAW (apparently, at least) is a fun song to listen to and like it. What's the matter with that? Does every and single (literally, here) have to be EXTREMELY deep and thoughtful? Can't one just have one once writing a song? All work no play?!? Ok, I stopped. Although, I DO believe there's some meaning in ETIAW, as said in another thread, that we're too busy calling "I turn my music up, I got my records on" stupid to see.

I think the music, as a single, is commercial, so they tried to be as energetic and modern as they could sound without losing their Coldgrip (ha!). But I honestly REFUSE to believe that Coldplay would release a totally "let's make remixes of this, dude!" song without any content in the lyrics. If they did it, they'd lose one of the few things that make them this beautiful band I like so much. Now, about the meaning, I haven't thought of that yet, but your theory, Hartroc, is very good. I'll give a thought about it and I'll come with something later. PS: I'd like to know the story you imagined, btw :D
