Alright time for my review, my mixtape is called Human Panic: Mixtape- When I Was A Skykid. Definitely an interesting and cool title right there.
1. It starts off with a really nice layered piano. Very haunting and creepy which I don't mind. It gets more dreamier and darker. A woman's voice is singing. She sounds kind of foreign. She's talking about a very creepy clown who has mysteriously come to her city and she and others are planning to kill him. . I actually really like her voice. The chorus is very interesting "Kill that clown he's so unfairr" Oh coulrophobia  There's a bit of synths in it too. Is this off of a concept album? Very nice song, totally love stuff like this.
2. Okay I'm absolutely in love with the intro, it's these violins and they sound so nostalgic and dreamy and just  And then these guitars and drums break in. And this really folky song enters and a man starts singing, he sounds really young and slightly familiar. The chorus is really booming and exciting and just makes you wanna join in and sing. And then the guitars come together and it's really quite pretty. Really addictive chorus too. The violins are just so pretty. And then the majestic chorus :awesome: Absolutely adored this. Thank you so much. :dazzled:
3. Ok this song sounded really old and rocky which is great cause I was really into classical rock in elementary school. The guitars are really upbeat and groovy ahaha. The man's voice is really raspy but really cool. The guitars get really pschedelic. He's singing about how this girl found rock n' roll. The chorus is really fun "Despite all the amputation you could just go out and listen to that rock n' roll station. Oh yeah actually there's a skip in the song  Oh the guitar solos are just great really. It's just a fun song about listening to rock and roll. :wacky: . Definitely something to get your feet stepping. :D How many times did I write "really"? But yeah groovy song :flower:
4. Ah this song. It starts instantly with heavy drumming and then some guitars, so far this has been a relatively guitar heavy mixtape. Not like that’s a bad thing though The bass kicks in and it becomes sort of Muse like? For lack of a better word. Well synth-y The man starts singing followed by a bombastic HEY! His voice is rather rugged but not bad. He sounds kind of familiar. There’s a lot of synths in this actually. The drumming is really upbeat and the guitars are really catchy. The claps are a nice addition. And the outro is pretty awesome as well :awesome: I like it a lot!
5. Alright this is interesting, it’s a rather rugged and country sounding with old timey guitars and whistling. But also rock as well. The singer’s voice is very southern sounding and hardy. He’s talking about Tennessee and other places and people. I was kind of mehh about this song but I think it’s grown on me actually. There’s a few people singing ohh’s in the background and saying conclusive over and over. These lyrics are definitely interesting.
6. This song starts off with the strumming of an acoustic guitar. A man starts singing, he has sort of a storytelling kind of voice actually. An accordion I think starts playing and it’s really dreamy sounding. And he is singing about a story about a mother, a father, himself, and someone else. It’s an interesting story. Definitely a not bad song to listen to. The accordians fade and the guitars stop playing. Ah well shit actually, iTunes just spoiled the song information wow that was not cool. I’m going to try to get over it..
7. iTunes has also informed me that 6 and 7 are two different songs. :disappointed: But yeah it’s a continuation of 6 so the accordion fades and an electric guitar plays. It’s rather distorted and then the man starts saying that he loves Jesus Christ a lot. At first I was like “Hahahahaha that turned odd.” Things get faster and he sings faster. The music gets even more distorted and kind of MGMT ish actually. Pretty awesome. Cool transition into this song, interesting lyrics and a cool distorted sound.
8. Ok so this is a really cool song, I’ve never heard anything like this. It’s a very folky song with distorted synths. It’s very sunny sounding and happy. And these lyrics are awesome, the guy is singing how he got a tail suddenly. Really creative and rhyme-y. I can tell he has an accent pretty easily; his voice is rather smooth. This is a really catchy song with such an imagination. I like. :D
9. This song starts off with a dark piano and some rough sounding vocals, it’s not English. Kinda sounds like Russian actually. I mentioned that I wouldn’t mind a song in another language so this was nice, thanks. The vocals are actually a booming chorus. After the singing there’s a nice dreamy bit as well. It sounds like they’re singing of struggle and pain. I would love to see the English lyrics to this. Definitely love how bombastic and rebellious this sounds And wow iTunes clearly doesn’t like it when I want to play this song, it keeps skipping halfway through, when I listen to it on my iPod there’s a bunch of skips. It’s a shame too cause I really love this one. I’ll just go on the next song.
10.This song starts of with a man’s voice, he sounds kind of robotic and sad. There’s a distorted electronic beat in the background. It’s really haunting. He sings how sad he is that his “sweet darkling” has to live a life so unfair and that your life is a lie. He gives off the impression that he has no emotion really, which makes the song more compelling and brilliant. The electronic beat fades and the song ends. It’s a short song but really nice.
11. This song has a sweet acoustic guitar strumming as the intro. A woman starts singing with a sweet voice. A man with a raspy voice joins her. They sing together and it’s nice and melodic. The guitars and drums get really heavy for a moment and intense. It starts sounds more electric and intense and the chorus is really booming. The lyrics also become intense “Carry me away I hope that you don’t break” Now it’s just the man singing. It’s really nice actually. Definitely love the transition from sweet and melodious to intense and brave. I’d like to know who this is actually; it sounds like what some of my friends would listen to. Kind of sounds like Muse.
12. Has a really slow but calming electric guitar as the intro. A woman sings in a high pitch, she sounds really reassuring and motherly. The drums kick in and it just gets even better. She sings “I’m afraid you’ve stopped to lick your wounds dear do you know?” over and in a high pitch. Synths kick in and gives the song an upbeat feel. I really like this song and I’m curious who this is. The lyrics are chockfull of advice and this song is just meant to make you feel good about yourself. The song is pretty and adorned with the high pitched singing.
13. This is an instrumental. It’s really calm and relaxing. There’s some guitar and some synths I think mixed together. It’s very dreamy and soothing. It gives this feeling of reaching somewhere new. There are some slow piano chords being played I think. It’s very pretty. The piano picks up and gets faster and dramatically changes the mood. It’s like when the hero and heroine are racing towards each other xD It’s cheesy I know XDD
14.OH THIS MAN IS BEAUTIFUL MY GOD WHO IS THIS ANGEL. :dazzled: :bigcry: This right here is a lovely song with pianos and a cute little clicking instrument that reminds me of the sea and of Professor Layton ok. The man’s voice is really quite beautiful. It’s kind of at a falsetto at times. It’s a really cute love song~~ I would love to know who this is.
15. This is a nice soothing folk song. It’s a great way to end the mixtape. The man’s voice is really slow and calming. So dreamy~~~ This is probably a good song to fall asleep to haha.
Thank you so much for making such a great mixtape. This was everything I wanted. I will definitely check out some of the artists. This was also my first mixtape I had received and it was great :awesome: You did a great job
