Amazing Day
Yay more of the song! The guitar in this is really beautiful. What some are saying about this song potentially being written for GCF makes sense, although the fact that it is supposedly coinciding with a bunch of AHFoD-related stuff makes me a little skeptical that this is just a one-off song. Who knows though

Amazing Day
A) I mean, I only heard it in one clip, but I think he repeated it twice. I don't remember the lyrics now but it was basically "blah blah Amazing day blah blah Amazing day" But I could also be misremembering in my excitement so who knows :P The point being the fact that it seems to have a prominent place in the lyrics we've heard so far, it seems a likely candidate for the title. B) I totally agree. It's similar to the whole "don't judge a book by its cover." Unfortunately, I tend to do that all the time so apparently I'm big on first impressions  Regardless, still excited to hear it and still optimistic it'll be a good song

Wooo I like this. It sounds much more ARoBttH-ish in that snippet

Amazing Day
A) Yeah, I meant Chris repeating it. I believe he says "amazing day" twice in a part of the song that sounds like it could be a refrain of some sort. Given Coldplay's history with naming songs after words repeated in the song, I thought it was a good possibility :nice: B) Like I said, the actual title of the song won't change whether I love or hate it, but just on a first-impression basis I wasn't too thrilled. Once I actually hear the song and get an opinion, the song title really doesn't mean anything anymore Of course, the song could wind up being titled something totally different, in which case none of this really matters anyway

Amazing Day
Okay, I thought I was crazy because I was hearing a bit of Strawberry Swing in there as well, but no one else was commenting on it. Glad I'm not alone

Amazing Day
A) I know, but given its current placing and the way it's repeated it makes me think it's a strong title possibility B) No, but when people ask me what I'm listening to, I feel much cooler saying "A Rush of Blood to the Head" or "Twisted Logic" than I do saying "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" or "Amazing Day" It doesn't affect how I like the song, but that was just my first impression :P

Amazing Day
I believe they meant seven songs altogether. As in, six were old songs like ASFoS, Viva, Paradise, etc. and one was this new song we're hearing snippets of ;) I'm not a huge fan of the title "Amazing Day," to be perfectly honest. A bit too much of the cheese factor for me--sounds like the way a middle schooler would title her journal entry :P But nothing's official yet and the melody is lovely so far, so I'm still excited!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I agree that they aren't the most innovative lyrics in the world, but since we haven't heard the whole song yet I'm reserving judgement Plus the melody is beautiful and makes up for it :wacky:

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
So thus far we have: "Sat on a roof, where there were stars Show me a place where I can be in your arms And if you . . ." "In your eyes, I'm drifting away In your eyes, I just wanna stay." Any other clips pop up?

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
A little while ago we were all content to wait until tomorrow to potentially hear something, but now we've all gone rabid

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
 I saw that! Although the original date says this was posted in 2009? Unless I'm reading it wrong?

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the "music video" the guys were recording in India wasn't for this song . . . meaning we may have a tiny, tiny chance of hearing two songs tomorrow.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Jonny's guitar slide and the way Chris says "drifting away" . . . ugh. I'm in love :dazzled:

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Eventually we're gonna get enough 15-second snippets to piece together the entire song

Oooooh I really like this snippet. Thanks!

Where is that from? I can't make that out from either of the snippets we have so far :surprised:

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I can't quite make out the end of that first line. Sounds like "star" or "start." The other ones are fairly clear though: "And show me a place where I can be in your arms And if you . . ."

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
*internally screaming* I've been holding my inner fangirl in check so far but NOT ANYMORE I can't even tell if I like the song, I'm just excited that it's something new

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
pls yes :dazzled: Florence Welch could be an interesting combination also, although I don't think her voice would mesh as well with Chris's as LDR's would  Lorde could be great if they did a song like "Everybody Wants to Rule the World."

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
This is slightly off-topic, but I really think that's why songs like Yellow and The Scientist are so loved both by Coldplayers and the world in general. They introduce themes of love, and it's immediately obvious that's what those two songs are about when you listen to them, but the lyrics themselves put a twist on what are thought to be standard "love song" lyrics. With The Scientist in particular, it's that juxtaposition of the cold, hard logic of "science" with the very abstract and subjective topic of "love." I adore love ballads, but to me the only great ones are the ones that can put a spin on the story they tell through the use of imagery and phrasing (that's the main reason GS was a bit of a disappointment to me; the lyrics could have been swapped out with a lot of different love ballads from a lot of artists and very little would change about how the song was interpreted or perceived). Anyone can write "And I don't, and I don't, and I don't, and I don't want anybody else but you," but there are very few people who could write "I was just guessing at numbers and figures, pulling your puzzles apart/Questions of science, of science and progress, do not speak as loud as my heart." With what we've seen of the AHFoD lyrics so far, I'm really optimistic that the songs will all have that twist to them, where they may be talking about well-worn topics but the way in which those topics are described is unique. I don't necessarily expect another The Scientist, or Clocks, or Politik, or what-have-you, but I do think we can look forward to some really stellar songs.

^ I think the "tattoo" on his middle finger is just a triangle. I've never noticed the writing on his index finger before now, though, so I have no idea what that could be :P

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
. . . I leave this thread for 12 hours and everything derails :P To try to bring it back: Even if we don't get anything new at GCF, it's an excellent chance to try and make out some more of the lyrics written on Chris's pants and Guy's shirt. :sneaky: Does Chris have lyrics on both sides of his pants, I wonder? Or are the lyrics the same?
