  1. *squints* am I missing something here? How does this relate to Coldplay?
  2. Usually I love storms but this one is messing with my Internet something fierce  Get outta here, storm, I need my Coldplay fix
  3. Coldplay has a pretty substantial fanbase. I'd say we could give other fan forums a run for their money in terms of freaking-out-ness :P
  4. *incoherent screaming* We're about to get hit with a rather severe storm . . . if we lose power in the middle of their performance I'm going to freak out :P
  5. ^ Plus if they don't play anything new we all get front row seats when the forum goes nuclear :P
  6. That a-ha shirt Chris has on really puts some weight behind the theory that AHFoD is inspired by Hunting High and Low
  7. That has such powerful symbolism in it, I can't even . . . But to put the thread somewhat back on topic: CAN WE PLEASE GET A SONG LIKE THAT ON AHFOD I mean, that this point all I'm asking for as far as songs to be included on AHFoD are: 1. another Violet Hill 2. another Strawberry Swing 3. another Politik 4. another Clocks 5. another Swallowed in the Sea 6. another Twisted Logic 7. another ARoBttH 8. another The Scientist Is that so much to ask, I mean really
  8. Good morning everyone! US Midwesterners should be awake and heading to work by now. West Coast is just waking up T-minus 13 hours until the festival, although something tells me that Coldplay will go last, since that's how the bigger acts are usually scheduled
  9. ^ Same. To add to that, lots of people are saying that they are trying to "build the hype" but . . . they haven't been doing anything. Building hype would be giving us teasers or cryptic Tweets or something. The only thing we've gotten is the "video shoot" but even that we know very little about (or when it will be released, or for what purpose, etc.) The only thing that's keeping me mostly convinced that the guys will give us something new tomorrow is the fact that it would otherwise be very random and pointless for them to suddenly come out and play two festivals back-to-back after they've been silent for so long and then crawl back into their news-less cave. idk what to think
  10. Even if we don't get a new song, we should all just look forward to the fact that Coldplay is actually performing again! The lack of touring for GS has starved me of my live performance fix :P . . . Although right now I'm in the midst of writing three papers, two required blog posts, five articles, and a group presentation so at this point I'm just ready to have anything to look forward to. The promise of a Coldplay performance Friday night is what's getting me through this week :dead:
  11. IF this is all true, it sounds like the music video will be really interesting. Let's hope the song matches up with it! And as for the kite-flying sequence . . . wasn't there a photo from the MX era of Chris flying a kite? His back was to the camera and his hands were stretched up over his head (I think it was posted by Phil on Twitter maybe?). Would be interesting to see if the same kite pops up again or if that's just a coincidence :P EDIT: completely unrelated thought
  12. ^ Some of my fondest moments from Coldplay come from when I wake up in the morning, check Facebook, see a new song, and listen to it on repeat while still lying in bed waiting for the sun to rise. There's something very peaceful and intimate about it, even if the song isn't meant to be peaceful or intimate  . . . Plus it makes me excited enough to actually get out of bed and get ready for the day So hopefully they continue to go the route of releasing songs while I'm asleep. I suppose that means midnight where I am (6 am in England)?
  13. To be fair, lead singles aren't usually put out because they're "original"; they're put out because they're appealing and will generate hype for an album. Shiver, In My Place, Speed of Sound (or was it Fix You?), Violet Hill, ETiaW, and Magic . . . I wouldn't call any of them the best/most original song on their respective albums by any stretch. That's part of the reason why everyone seems to like Coldplay's deeper cuts better--they usually wind up being better songs!
  14. I know this guy/gal isn't the only one to ever post a biased news story, but jeez. As a reporter, I get unusually annoyed whenever I see an article using a biased tone or language, and this one is particularly bad. Also, agreed with samerater about the Apple comment
  15. Agreed. Lyrics can be great while still being simple, and vice versa. Take "I Blood Blaum," for example. The lyrics are very simple, but not cliche, and work well with the instrumentation to create a very haunting and beautiful image. I personally consider them to be "good" lyrics for that reason. If we get lyrics like that on AHFoD (that pair well with the overall atmosphere of the song), I'll be satisfied.
  16. Had a dream last night that Coldplay had released their new song. Ran to go listen to it but right as I clicked play my alarm went off :blank: Coincidentally, the song that woke me up was Life in Technicolor Oh, and the new song was called "Hurts Like Hell"
  17. Apologies for the double post I mean, this doesn't seem too far-fetched even if it has no reliable source. Coldplay is pretty good about getting music videos out quickly after they're completed. Assuming this whole India thing is actually what we think it is, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we got the song or an official announcement of the song within a week.
  18. Dude. A giant game of paintball taking place during a Coldplay concert would be awesome. I always want the things I can't have :disappointed:
  19. Okay the guys look like they're posed for an official photo shoot
  20. I was expecting something in that vein. Viva la Vida was the second song I ever became obsessed with (first was Clocks), so no complaints there :P Also that artwork is legit. A watercolor-paint theme would fit in well for this era, I think. It's just as colorful and lively as the spray paint from MX, but carries its own distinct style. AND it would complete the second "trilogy" theme of Viva-MX-AHFoD (not counting GS because that was kind of a side project). Viva was paint splatters/classical paintings, MX was spray paint, and AHFoD can be watercolor! :awesome:
  21. I feel I should draw attention to this masterpiece of a pun. Bask in its glory, everyone, BASK IN IT
