  1. Ah, so there's no official word on the next album then? Besides the fact that it's apparently gonna be 'softer'?
  2. What does everyone think to Chris apparently writing more stuff for the next album? Oh and my mum shares a birthday with Matt :p
  3. What does everyone think to Chris apparently writing more stuff for the next album? Oh and my mum shares a birthday with Matt :p
  4. It's not biased if you're drawing your statements from fact, which is what I'm doing. If I were being biased I'd have agreed with the guy who said Muse had sold more, because I'm a much bigger Muse fan. And I'd have agreed with the people saying U2 are the more successful band currently, because again I said I'm a much bigger U2 fan.
  5. I'm not trying to debate who's the bigger band... This is getting off topic considering what my original point was. And my point with saying Coldplay are the biggest is that they're the biggest 'current' band. And how you define that is entirely up to you, but I say Coldplay is more of a current band than U2 are. And again, I prefer U2 to Coldplay by some distance, so it's not me being a Coldplay fan, refusing to accept that anyone is better.
  6. If you'd have even read the post I mentioned it in you'd see it's very much relevant to the point I was making. Now stop jumping to conclusions about its relevance and actually read the post I brought sales up in.
  7. I was doing it to elaborate on how commercially successful they are, I'm aware it doesn't measure quality.
  8. Muse have sold over 10million units, Coldplay have sold over 50million. I'll let some whiz kid do the maths. Oh and btw I'm a HUGE Muse fan, they're like my second favourite band and I like them a lot more than Coldplay, so I'm not just saying that to try and say Coldplay are better, I'm stating a fact.
  9. Coldplay have sold more since 2000 than U2 have. It's fact, not opinion. Coldplay are bigger at the minute than U2 are, despite U2 being the bigger band overall. Using your logic, The Beatles are still the biggest band in the world. And oh stop lying, you did say they should make another album like X&Y.
  10. I'm being realistic. They aren't normal anymore, they're in one of the biggest bands in the world... Back when Parachutes came out, you could have just seen them walking down the street. Now, no chance. They're world famous and cannot relate to the stuff they were going through back then anymore.
  11. MODERN WARFARE 3 LOOKS AWESOME :D
  12. Glad to see so many people rate Talk so highly. I was kind of expecting it to be somewhat hated by fans, because of the Kraftwerk sampling and stuff :P
  13. 1.) They are really... Name another band who's been as big as them in the past decade, with 50million records sold from four studio albums. 2.) You just made yourself a laughing stock by saying they should make another X&Y
  14. Yeah it's a good list but I've never been a big fan of Cemeteries of London... Those first 15 seconds or so... Chris' vocals just sound out of place. But when it gets going it's all well and good.
  15. It doesn't rank among classic songs at all... It's a good pop tune and that's it.
  16. *facepalm* You don't get it do you? They will never and can never go back to the style and sound of Parachutes... They were ordinary people back then, they had never had a number 1 single, they had never had a string of 10million selling albums, they had never sold out stadums and arenas worldwide, Chris Martin had never married Gwenyth Paltrow, they were not the biggest band in the world. Everything has changed. Please tell me, after becoming the biggest band in the world, what you can do besides do the kind of things Coldplay are doing? Once you're the biggest band in the world with this amount of success, the music you made early on goes out of the window; you cannot replicate it, it'd just come across as false because you have nothing to really complain about in life like you did when you were a nobody.
  17. Just as the OP added a second bonus five
  18. Because the X&Y album sucks btw you do realise the OP listed 20 songs as well right?
  19. Making some changes to this Yellow The Scientist Strawberry Swing Death and All His Friends Shiver Politik Trouble Fix You Viva la Vida Spies BONUS 5 Talk God Put a Smile Upon Your Face Don't Panic Green Eyes Clocks THE OTHER BONUS 5 Square One Prospekt's March Twisted Logic Daylight Lost!
  20. I'm not a huge fan of it either. It's good but nothing special. Pretty standard stuff tbh. I hated How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb and I still am undecided on No Line.
  21. Strawberry Swing and Shiver didn't chart very well at all lol... Prospekt's March, Politik, Death and All His Friends and Green Eyes weren't singles at all either. If I were doing a greatest hits list I'd have put Speed of Sound, In My Place, Violet Hill, more stuff in there. I don't see the problem in having a balance between hits, singles which weren't that big and album tracks. If I weren't a new user you wouldn't even have been critcising my list.
  22. Another band I'm a fan of, despite not being all that great since the ZooTV Tour had finished... They had too much to live up to I think and just couldn't hack it. No band really could live up to that though I reckon. They still have it as a live act and have made the odd really good song, but in my eyes their only good album since Zooropa was ATYCLB
  23. I love Radiohead, one of my favourite bands. :) Kid A and OK Computer are my favourites, followed by The Bends, In Rainbows and Amnesiac. I really like all their albums though apart from Hail to the Thief. Yes, I even like Pablo Honey, it's good alternative rock. The King of Limbs is a good album. It had me taken by surprise at first, becuase of the sudden announcement and its abstract sound, but it's grown on me slowly. Codex is a beautiful song, one of their best IMO
  24. That time of year again. Any fellow video game fans will know what this is about. Upcoming games, consoles, periphials, engines and anything else related to gaming is displayed and revealed. With games like Gears of War 3, Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, Modern Warfare 3, Arkham City and countless others confirmed to appear, as well as the unveiling of the next Nintendo console and a more in-depth look at the PSP2 (currently with the working title Next Generation Portable), this is looking like one of the best E3's ever. What games are you all looking forward to? What games are you expecting to have a surprise reveal? I can't wait to see Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 in action :D and I'm expecting Grand Theft Auto V to be announced (it's rumoured to be set in Los Santos now, after a few years of it being rumoured to be set in Vice City). I also think it'll be interesting to see how Nintendo follow up something as big as the Wii. :)
