LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Well said. I liked Miracles when I heared it, but got tired with it in no time, mostly because of those tricks you're talking about. Midnight which I loved straight away, only has become more and more special. It's a new big favourite, the beauty of it keeps on amazing me.

Chris Martin to perform with Beck at 2015 Grammys
Jeezz, how old is he? How can an artist like that, still get any respect. I'm sure he hasnt heard Beck's album, he would never understand his music anyway. He wouldnt understand, that artists who arent hugely popular/commercial, can make very good music and that they also deserve to win an award. 'Creativity' OMG.. The performance from Beck and Chris was beautiful. Their voices match very good. He should perform more often with 'not so big' artists. Hope the band is getting more inspired by artists like him.

Chris Martin to perform with Beck at 2015 Grammys
Yes! Very cool that it's an alternative/indie kind of artist + I Love Beck's last album, many beautiful songs. The song 'Heart is a drum' would be great.

Hmm..Don't know what it is with her voice, but I'm not fan of those kind of voices. Is it really that unique? Maybe it is too 'perfect'. I would always get annoyed with her voice in that 'I don't wanna beee a Murderer' song. But 'Stay' is the first song that I liked, so I was surprised by that. And these I love: [video=youtube;sestSq6hRHI] [video=youtube;V_DT-mg_3IA]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_DT-mg_3IA Umbrella is cool! It's not an R&B song at actually. For me the biggest problem is the EDM/R&B production. Its not my type of music at all. And POC didnt make any sence to me. No Coldplay feel at all, that beat.. Too screamy loud production.

Coldplay & Rihanna to perform at Grammys 2015? (rumor)
Agree! :( Why on earth would they do that again, very weird if it's true.

Coldplay's global impact: 2000-2009 vs. 2010-
I think we know.. It has to be a pure/raw song. Guitar/piano/real drums. That's when the band is at it's best. Drop the decoration. And they should not think about how to fit in that popular sound scape. They should step out of that box.

Coldplay's global impact: 2000-2009 vs. 2010-
well.. I have been listening to the Dutch Top2000 on radio 2 this last couple of days (3.8 million people voted). 19 places for Coldplay in the list, Paradise, Magic and even Sky (nr. 667!) are in there (ETIAW too..) but I do think Sky will leave in a few years. Paradise will (from 71 last year to 221) drop further down the list I think. Intersting is that Fix you is now their highest track (15). I didn't even vote for it lol. Before it was always Clocks or Viva in the top 20 and even top 10. And then the Scientist/fix you. Also interesting is Atlas. It went from 763 to 701. Hasn't been forgotten :) But Politik just won't enter our top 2000, which is a real shame :( As for Midnight. Not sure, at first it doesnt sound like an ideal single type of song.. but I suppose everybody knows Teardrop from Massive attack? Midnight is an interesting and unique song for the feels, and it surprised many people. It reached many people/radio stations. So I guess it could work as a single. But yes they need more real classics. Many people even forget about the old good stuff like Politik/trouble, they're general opinion about Coldplay is influenced by songs like sky/paradise/poc. This seems to be happening now more than before.

"Miracles" new original song by Coldplay for movie "Unbroken"
Well, I find it important that people/fans can express what they think about their music. Negativity/Critical comments (from fans): there should always be space for that too and the band needs to pay attention to this. Since 2011 I find all of their non-regular-album tracks better than most album tracks. Songs like True love, Ink, Another's arms.. I find them all too simple/weak. But 'Miracles' sounds quite a lot better in my ears.. Stronger melody. The 'oe oe oe's' are quite magic-y and ink-y, but the positive hopefull vibe somehow brings me back to the time of the Viva album. It also has the powerfull, feelgood climax from Up with the birds. One of the better MX songs. Still, it's polished, a bit too perfectly pretty, and a bit too 'ooee oee oee'. The lyrics could be a bit stronger maybe. But oh well, I do find it a pretty song, warm, uplifting.. and Christmas-y! Must be the time of year!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Was thinking the same. GS 'a not so safe' album? It's so so sooo very safe! Only midnight is something else. I believe I'm more interested in what will happen after LP7. I wonder what the 'different mindset' means, after this album. There must be at some point a change, how can they keep on (when they are in their 40s) writing about dreams, skies, stars, birds etc. How can they keep on being moved about that themselves, seriously? If they will put a big stadium track like sky on an album like GS, Im sure they will put 1 or more on the next 'happy' album. If it will be edm.. who knows. Right now I can not imagen them, not doing a huge big loud song like that. With every album they need to have that big one. Unless they finally are going for a more alternative sound and the 'big optimistic hit' will be more Violet Hill/god put a smile/ghost story sounding. Looking at where they are now, after these 2 albums with hits Paradise, Rihanna, avici; this may sounds strange, but going for a 'guitar hit' probably will be like a 'not safe/risky' thing to do. Just in their minds of course.. not mine!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Yes!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Hmm.. what to think.. an album title like that from coldplay to me sounds like an album full with more sky full of stars, birds, magic, dreams, paradise, rainbow, you name it, pop songs. And not exactly anything alternative. But it's the 'end of something'. Sooo what happens after that..

Why should I listen to GS?
Great quote haha

Why should I listen to GS?
Hmm.. why do you want to 'know' this? If you do not find the music good then that's just it.. You can't really 'make' yourself love music. Taste can change of course, music can grow on you. But looking at the other bands you love, it probaly will not happen. But, why throw away your love for the band itself? Does their last album or last 2 albums make you dislike their older albums? I'm critical of most songs on their last 2 albums: production, lyrics, songs, edm, rnb blabla, but the brilliant 'Politik' still sounds like the brilliant 'Politik'! Edit: Mentioned song Midnight def could be a song you might like, but probably already heard?

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Uhm, best production? The production on GS is something I am very critical about. It's better than MX, but it's still very crispy/polished computer production, which to me makes the whole album less mature sounding than it could have been. They sure need to improve all of the parts that people criticize yes!
-
LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
It's nice to read opinions like this, because too many people just accept whatever they write. But I see there is a group of Coldplay fans that shares the same critical thinking. We just want them to sound mature. Just wondering, have you heard Ben Howard's new album? He is a great example of an artist that just took the other direction. His first album is more of a mainstream folky album with many radiofriendly songs (love this album very much though, many good lyrics) and now he released a dark deep melancholic album (Song: End of the affair: OMG!). Not following what other young guitar-singersongwriters are doing like Ed Sheeran. That's a brave thing to do, it's only his second album. + Listening to his album, makes me wish even more that Coldplay would just finally leave the polished computer production and go for a much more natural/organic sound. I miss that! If Coldplay wants to take a alternative/mature direction they can do, other artists do it. If their record label tells them not to, they should leave the label! Come on Chris, you're Devonian like Ben :p

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Okay. So many bands go from mainstream to alternative and/or alternative to mainstream... but how does that compare to a band that always fitted in the mainstream, they went from that to muuuch more popular/commercial music. This is what made many older fans lose respect for them. The problem is that their alternative audience is shrinking. Just reading on serious album reviewer sites (for music lovers, not reviewers) this what I see. Im fine with the 'pop area' if coldplay really goes back to their roots someday. Im afraid they are a bit stuck in where they are now. Anyway, off topic: can someone tell me a few accessible song titles from radiohead? That paranoid song just really does not work with my ears lol. So it has to be something for the feels. I believe 'Spies' is radioheadish and its 1 of my fav. CP songs. Thanks!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I dont know much about this.. im sorry. But radiohead.. really? What did they release in 1997? There are big bands like muse/radiohead that i never got 'into'. To me they always seemed 'too alternative' :)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
This i would like to see (even though i dont like metal haha)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Alright. One band being more mainstream than the other. But i wasnt really talking about how bands compare. Its just that they now have many hits that are popular with people that just like whatever is popular. I notice this in 'my little world'. People who never liked coldplay before, now like their pophits.
