Bands that are great and all but you totally can't understand
I doubt Fleet Foxes OR Bon Iver will ever put out an album as interesting as Origin Of Symmetry or Absolution. :laugh3: Nah, it's okay. I mean I respect Bon Iver at least!

I was JUST about to post that! I can see his talent, he's loads better than Fleet Foxes, but I just can't grasp his work.

I've been into them since a little before Carriage came out, I got the Phodilus & Tyto single (both versions better than the album's versions...) and their CDs. I recommend you get The Sun And The Wind from their store before that sells out if you haven't already, it's handmade with ink pressed on a thick-stock sleeve, one of my favorite packagings. There's For The Birds EP, she released that one solo and it's sold out. The Sun And The Wind, Haunting Moon Sinking, and Carriage are their three albums. And then there's the single... it's all so excellent. Pirates, Beneath Rocks & Sand, and Oh The Wolves! are my three favorites.

MEGAPOLL! Guess the LP5 tracklisting announcement day! (WINNERS! 9th September: Drew42LP5 and Megalo
I think they'll announce it soon and then release it a month and a half later. Mid-to-late August release, early-ish July announcement.

Kat Burns is oh-so sweet! :) I love that woman, I chat with them on twitter a lot. Haunting Moon Sinking is their best album IMO, I've got all their stuff except For The Birds EP that she released solo. Arrrgh, I'd give an arm and a leg to get a copy! :D They're hinting at a limited vinyl release of Carriage, I want it... I almost went to go see them in Detroit last halloween after incessantly begging Kat to come here. They go and play a show at a bar, but it was 21+ and I'm not old enough! And I was ironically the one who brought them there!

Top 5 LEAST fav Coldplay songs (B-sides included)
Yellow The Scientist (I'm sick of hearing my friends cover it on the piano/guitar all the time, it's lost ALL possible luster for me for a while...) Swallowed In The Sea The Goldrush Ode To Deodorant

LP5
This does kind of tie in with something that I was thinking about posting; a possible double album. I wouldn't put it past Coldplay to do this... It'd certainly be good for all that creative output Chris is pumping out.

I remember my 2010 list... even since it came out in March, I knew White Hinterland's Kairos would take the prize. My three most-anticipated from the get-go were Broken Social Scene, Stars, and Arcade Fire; BSS was wonderful, it came out as #3, Stars was phenomenal and put out my favorite album of theirs to date at #2, and then Arcade Fire was great but after listening to it and hearing about it so much brought it down to #7 or something. If anything's changed, I think I'd place Chilly Gonzales' Ivory Tower higher, that man is golden in every way. 1. White Hinterland - Kairos 2. Stars - The Five Ghosts 3. Broken Social Scene - Forgiveness Rock Record 4. Dead Child Star - Cold Hands, Warm Heart 5. Chilly Gonzales - Ivory Tower 6. Forest City Lovers - Carriage 7. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs 8. The National - High Violet 9. Efterklang - Magic Chairs 10. Crystal Casltes - Crystal Castles II And then an honorable mention to Laura Veirs, Sun Kil Moon, James Blake's many EPs, Our Broken Garden, and Broken Bells. Wild Nothing and Avi Buffalo were good too, but I don't listen to them regularly.

Will and Guy on Steve Lamacq's Show on BBC 6Music [TODAY 15/06/11 - 4.00pm BST]
Well we have heard a great chunk of the material... :D My bets are that they're probably not going to play Us Against The World and pull out Princess Of China again and maybe Alien Radio or some other song.
-
LP5 Tracklist?
1. MX 2. Hurts Like Heaven 3. Great Expectations* 4. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall 5. Major Minus 6. DLIBYH 7. Love In A Lethal Dose 8. Charlie Brown 9. Us Against The World 10. Alien Radio 11. Moving To Mars 12. Arabesque* 13. Princess Of China 14. It Was A Wonderful Day Longer than the usual, I wouldn't put it past them to do it. 14 is generally a good number for albums. :) * - If not the one already listed, then probably a brand new song.

Princess of China
:stunned: :(
-
What does "Major Minus" MEAN?
Maybe it's Bowie-inspired (Space Symphony). But honestly, when I first heard of it a constellation came to mind. The melody seems so up-in-the-air, it's a very atmospheric song.
-
LP5 going to be awesome or epic?
Well six of the seven possible songs they've finished complete enough to play live are available and they're sounding pretty good. Maybe epic. Maybe the one that the private show got that we didn't hear was Alien Radio. Or DLIBYH. Or Great Expectations or Love In A Lethal Dose or something, I don't know. I'm hoping for a recording of Princess of China at Glastonbury the most, I think it's my favorite even from the poor to decent quality recordings from Rock im Park. :D:D

Every Teardrop might NOT be on LP5! (The Oracle Answers)
Interesting how some of you are saying "Charlie Brown and Major Minus will be on the album for sure" with no mention of Hurts Like Heaven. If anything, I could see it being lead single from the album given the massive stage arrangements with the walking man and the satellite in the back. They did trim the amount of material down, right? Did they have fifty songs after that or was that the number they were reducing? I mean either way, if they don't put out an EP with b-sides or make it a double album, they could do a sort of Kid A/Amnesiac thing going on. Make their "masterpiece" album for their creative aesthetics, tour a good deal over a year's length, break for a little bit to finish these songs and then release a more intricate, experimental album to compliment its counterpart. I mean, from what this album is sounding it feels complementary to Viva La Vida rather than a next step (Princess of China = Lost + Lovers In Japan, Hurts Like Heaven = Life In Technicolor + Chinese Sleep Chant...) but I could be wrong. If ETIAW didn't make it, then so be it. If it does, then okay! I trust their judgement.

Which is your favourite new Coldplay song?
admnistramation replied to busybeeburns's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)If I had to rank them all... Princess of China > Major Minus > Hurts Like Heaven > Us Against The World > Charlie Brown > Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall And I liked ETIAW.
