Dear fellows, I wanted to create a thread for all those who love the newer Coldplay stuff as much as the older stuff. A thread in which we can appreciate the pureness and beauty of their newer releases, discuss them, discuss the band and how amazing they are. Be it live or studio stuff for each other to hear or watch and just indulge in that unique new Coldplay atmosphere which many of us love so much. In short, this place is for feeling happy, hopeful and dancy. I'd roughly say the timeframe discussed here is 2011 to the present, so it includes MX which is really Newplay to me, but I know for many of us Coldplayers it was the start of something we really loved, so I thought let's include it. Here's to Mylo Xyloto, Ghost Stories and Currently A Head Full Of Dreams! Lets start off with the song that kicked this all off! Post Away!!

I wouldn't kill you over it but I'd like a thorough explanation as to why this exclusive interview was not sufficient enough for your liking. We are grateful for Guy and Will taking the time to answer questions brought up by our peers. However, I would like to know at what specific point do you believe this interview was lacking critical information? I don't know about you, but I would love to spend 20 minutes asking Mr. Berryman and Mr. Champion various questions about music, the songwriting process and life in general. We must learn to be grateful in life for what we have. Now I know you're extremely busy with this thread and the awards section, with voting and all; but I expect a full page response, 250+ words as to why this interview was not up to your standards. I'm sure you can make the time for this of course. Happy holidays.

I would like to thank you guys for making this thread. I love the new album, I love how the boys have branched out and are trying something new. Change doesn't have to be bad. BUT you can never forget where you came from, or how you started. It's great to see dedication on all fronts heading in every possible direction. This thread reminded me to go back and work on some older songs and lyrics I wrote a few years back as well as write new material inspired by the first 4 albums. And I have to say, I love it just as much as new songs and lyrics inspired by MX/GS/AHFOD and everything else out there. Personally, it's reminded me what you can do with just a voice, a guitar and a head full of dreams haha.

I'd say Tove Lo to be honest, realistically speaking, it makes sense. Her music is similar to AHFOD. Plus she is on Fun. Can't imagine picking a band like Bear's Den opening. Music doesn't match. But I'd like to say that I love Bear's Den.

I feel this song is gonna be even better live. I absolutely love it. This should be the 2nd single. I'd say this song packs the most punch out of them all. It starts off with Will hitting the drums, not banging, but hitting, along with an echoey reverberating voice mod of Chris. Similar to AOAL. The climax of the song is when Chris sings the high falsetto part, "Cause you are, cause you are, cause you are".. Plus the chorus start off with Chris singing, "Cause I never say die". I feel like this is the hidden gem of the album. I love everything about this song but I'm trying to be objectively about it. If that's a word :P

Will is a genius. It was probably Stargate.

WARNING: NEGATOVE POST INCOMING What the hell did Stargate do to this song? They royally screwed up. Why did they suppress the piano? Totally minimized the loud guitar and bass of the chorus. Noel's solo kinda saves it though. This studio version is lackluster. Sounds like Will is hitting the snare alone throughout the song. The ending does not flow well and it is not nearly as grandiose as the live version. Put it this way, Coldplay should never collaborate with Stargate again. Live: 9/10 Studio: 6/10

If they had anybody on this song, it should have been Birdy. She has an amazing voice and is perfect for piano ballads!
