I listen to them more than any other band , and they are the only band that I know all the words to all their songs. I love them! But I do listen to other bands, such as Florence + The Machine, Incubus, Modest Mouse. But none of the other bands have ever affected me like Coldplay does. I simply adore them. My favorite band for the last decade, hands down. :dazzled:

I hope they put out b-sides with the physical Paradise release. Some of their b-sides are some of my favorite songs! :)

I Ran Away, A Message, Trouble, Amsterdam, and I would love to hear Gravity live as well. I like too many to name all the ones I would want to hear! :dazzled:

I'm still guessing that the studio versions of the songs we've heard at all the festivals this year will be a slightly different expierence. As much as I wanted to refrain from listening to the new stuff that got played, I couldn't. 3 years is a long time to wait for new songs, so I listened with reckless abandon every time something new got played. As much as I would like to be surprised more by hearing the new stuff from MX when its comes out versus now, I simply couldn't help myself! I had to listen!!!! :wacky:

AROBTTH- 9 (best c.d. they had hands down!!!) X&Y-8 1/2 (I love listening to that when Im moody!) Viva-8(I like it alot but its not my absolute fav) Parachutes-7 (Nothing like old school!) MX-???? I dunno. I have to hear the whole album before I give it a rating. :)

I have been a Coldplay fan for over 10 years now(I got hooked on Parachutes in high school) and had just recently decided to formally join the Coldplaying forum after many years of "lurking". I am what I consider an older fan, I love them to death. I love every album they have ever put out! I joined the forums because I am so excited about a new album being released(I'm driving my husband mad talking about it all the time) and I wanted to connect with other people that love Coldplay as much as I do. I wasn't prepared for the Coldplay bashing! :shocked2: It makes me sad. We should all be happy that we are getting a new album after all these years! So what if they are going in a new direction? Are any of the old albums the same as eachother? nope! Lets all give this a chance, the songs already out have grown on me as time has gone on. ...We need to hear the whole album to get the whole concept. Lets not count our chickens before they hatch! At least CP is being outgoing and not feeding us the same stuff over and over. I still love them! ...Sorry if I seemed to be ranting, I just had to get that off my chest!:)

I agree. I feel awful that they can see all the bad things being said on here. as I have said before, everyone is entitled to their opinions, but some people are just straight-up Coldplay bashing and I can't stand seeing it. :(

Thanks for posting, the boys gave a great interview! ...One thing though, I had NO CLUE that Danny DiVito is now a DJ in Canada!! (he he he) :laugh3:

I love Major Minus, but I also like ETDIAW and Paradise. But I agree with you, it hasnt been spoken of much. Major Minus is a great, gritty & loud track, and I'm surprised that more people are not talking about how much they like it as well!

he he!! ...I was the chick bawling my eyes out during "Fix You" and standing up in my seat and freaking out when Chris played on that little stage on the right side of the main stage(he was right in FRONT OF ME!!! ) ...I was wearing my vintage AROBTTH shirt, though I so would've worn a Viva costume if I had the chance! :)

Right on! Haters, If you want the "Old" Coldplay, go listen to the last 4 albums! You gotta at least try to have an open mind about MX! Everyone is intitled to their opinions but this straight-up Coldplay MX era bashing is getting old. The album isnt even out yet!!!! I love the old albums to death, but Im excited and ready to listen to MX!

Thank you for putting that on here! This was a good interview. Clearly, he knows of the "Paradise" backlash and isn't going to let it stop them from putting out a different kind of record! Kudos to him, because if they want to do something new, they should go for it. He can't even put a classification on MX, so we are in for a change here, and I'm willing to see what its going to be. I still love Coldplay! Can't wait for October! :)
