  1. ^ Agree with you there. Coldplay have improved their live performances a lot but I believe that in essence they are still a studio band --> X&Y is gonna rock our socks off! :stunned:
  2. Well I got the Edge thingy in WMA format... I could e-mail it to you if you want... PM me.
  3. S - Stone Roses
  4. Q - Queens of the Stone Age (or something like that :P )
  5. Ash
  6. Does that make me cocky? :embarrased: Haha, actually I don't care... Like I said earlier, it took me so long to get here. I'm proud of myself
  7. O - Paul Oakenfold
  8. Me too! "We screwed up royally, and we should be assassinated for it." - Chris Man... I love his humour. So wry, so over the top. He really nitpicks all their failings and magnifies them 100% and broadcasts them to the whole world :D *sigh* My band - the most adorable band in the world... Thanks boshea for the article, some bling for ya :)
  9. L- The La's
  10. Tell me about her sometime... It'd be interesting to see if I really have a 'double' tottering off about somewhere :D
  11. I think Chris did mean what he said, that shareholders are evil. He just needs to qualify what type of shareholders he means... I think he was referring to those corporate evil types with loads of money, who just invest in something to earn profit - not us small-timers who invest our life savings in retirement funds or the stockmarket. Speaking or earnings, of course everybody needs to make a profit in order to survive but these big-time shareholders don't care about the welfare of the thing/people they invest in, they'll just make money where it is to be made, no matter how much they trample on the little people or how much they damage the thing it is they are investing in... A prime example would be the recent take over of the UK soccer club Manchester United by Malcolm Glazer (of the Tampa Bay Bucaneers fame). This guy just arm-twisted his way into becoming the biggest shareholder regardless of the vehement opposition of the fans. He managed it also because of another "evil" pair of shareholders who care natta about ManU or what it means to football... John Magnier & JP Magmanus- they sold their shares in the company coz the price offered by Glazer was too good. They didn't care at all that the company would then go into debt because Glazer didn't have the actual money to pay and had to finance the takeover via loans (aka "finance companies") It think Chris was referring to this kind of conglomerate shareholder(s) in EMI as well... I mean for such a big company EMI surely must be owned by a big shareholder that can apply a lot of pressure on it to perform up to the mark. I'm sure it isn't owned by hoardes of music lovers like us who would wait for good music. Sometimes though I do think it's stupid that these big shareholders don't know the "product" (aka Coldplay in this case) they have invested in... I mean sure, bands may delay their albums and still produce bad music but I think if you're gonna invest in EMI (and one of their major artistes is Coldplay), then u should at least know to some extent what Coldplay are all about, and know well enough that this band knows its stuff and trust it to do the right thing when it comes to their music and not screw it right? Sometimes I swear these people don't f*cking hell know what they're doing... As Chris would say, they should just "f*ck off..." and leave the world in peace... It sure could be a better place without them. Does all this make any sense?
  12. Yes, we're all souls drifting and drowning in a world of music we made our own :D
  13. Aack! *runs away* Yep they knew each other beforehand... They're a bit unique as a boyband that way... Guess that's why they're so tight & are still together after so long (more than 10 years already can u imagine?)- all the other boybands have broken up. :idea2: Guess that makes them sooo old too :P
  14. Bye Pai... Btw, where u from?
  15. For the record, yes, I am proud of myself :smug: But seriously, it took me so long to get here... Partly I guess coz I'm too totally serious when it comes to posting and also somewhere along the way all my previous post records got wiped out. It's taken a long time to get here (look at when I joined) so I guess I deserve to celebrate :D Narcissistic aren't I?
  16. limb by limb
  17. Haha... Thanks. Me from all over the place actually... Selangor, Perak, Malacca... A gal with no roots really  But currently stationed in KL (that's where all of us end up don't u think?)
  18. Just for the record and to get some facts straight (since the BSB were my fav band before Coldplay :o and I do still have some facts stuck in my head about them)... 1) They are NOT just another group put together by corporate heads... Three of the members knew each other and got together first before finding the other two and have them join the 'band'. They sang together for awhile at local gigs (schools, fairs, bars n stuff) before being signed to a label. I repeat, they are NOT a product of a talent search :D 2) They do play instruments (though not as well as most bands of course) - personally, I'd be ashamed to perform if I had their level of technical ability :embarrased: 3) I think they can sing... They sing with a lot of heart (*hears sniggers all round the board*). It's just that their voice quality is a bit thin (as has been noted by numerous critics) There. Rant over  You cannibals out there can draw out your knives and skin me alive now  Sorry Reilly, looks like your thread has really taken off despite your *best* intentions. I just really gotta laugh
  19. Oooh... Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm laughing sooo hard!    Yes, in case u guys didn't notice... I'm going to stick my neck out and argue that to some extent, the BSB & Coldplay come from the same place... Both sing their hearts out. :o Now back to serious business. Before u guys come out and stone me to death or ban me from this site forever, I have to say Coldplay are the better band of course :D
