Anyone else thinks she was a note away from plagiarizing Bittersweet Symphony in National Anthem? I'm kinda pleasantly surprised by the album cos I didn't buy into the hype. I'd give it 3,5 / 5.

Just like anything MX-related, it gets better after a few replays. I've watched a fan-made Peanuts animated video and I gotta say that this suits the song much better. I don't have issues with the ideas in this video, I just think they're somewhat poorly executed.

I don't hate it. But since X&Y is kinda too long, THP would be the first to go. The only "problem" I have with it is the fact that it was a single and it had a video. White Shadows and Square One singles/videos should have come next after Talk. I kinda feel that they didn't want to release it but the record company made them. And they made the WTF video as a kind of "fuck you" to Parlophone/EMI. :D

I'm glad that I hadn't watched the summer festivals before the album release. I see a lot of people complaining about the studio versions. I heard all of the songs (minus the singles) for the first time when I got the album and I fell for MX instantly. :heart: HLH and CB were the main reasons why.

I love that about MX. It's a cohesive album but it isn't bland. That's an impending danger when you're making a concept album with similar connected songs, but MX has successfully eluded it. The cohesiveness has grown progressively with each album Parachutes<AROBTTH<X&Y<VLV<MX.

^If I felt that they were attempting to be cool and popular, you know, specifically making an album to please the mainstream audience, I'd be offended. I honestly think that this is genuinely what they wanted to do, it's a direction they wanted to take. Underneath its popyness it's a regular rock album with some additional studio manipulation a.k.a. enoxification and fake drum parts, not unlike Achtung Baby. It's not at all like other mega popular "artists" out there - LMFAO, Guetta, Pitbull etc. Compared to them this is VERY original shit! :P I don't know why I'm writing here, I like MX. :escaping:
