I ran away is one of the best overall songs they've done. Great music, great lyrics. What a song.

Funny thing is that NME has been on Coldplay's side more than most magazines. They gave X&Y a 10/10. Hell, I wouldn't give X&Y a 10/10. They gave Viva 8/10, which is stupid, cause Viva is a far better album imo then X&Y, but MX was when NME ran the other way and gave it a 5/10. I love Coldplay as much as the next guy here, but I know for a fact that critics for NME and Rolling Stones won't give Coldplay a good score until Coldplay does a Kid A. They even made a big review on Midnight and praised it. I don't think they will do that for Magic.

Everyone was tweeting about this song. I was actually worried that this album wouldn't have any big hits on it :P

Lyrics are really nice and simple. Not bad or cheap, just really simple.

Do you think O is one of their best closers? I imagine it would be hard to tell live, but I wasn't a huge fan of Up With The Birds so I'm a bit nervous.

I wonder if they will release the Live DVD with the album and have it as an exclusive to, say, iTunes or best buy. But then again, I thought I heard the NBC was going to air it, so who knows.

Now I'm convince that Coldplay is going to play their album. I bet its going to air the same week GS is released.

Maybe NBC will air it just before GS comes out. I seriously doubt Coldplay will air the show anytime soon if it has the entire album played.

I like the idea of tattoo, because its permanent (relatively) and it require commitment. A nice theme that fits in with what we've heard.

I think O will be really upbeat, and this will be slower, sort of like Lost! and Lost?. There will be similar lyrics, maybe pieces from O

I like X&Y songs, but the album together is, for me, not very cohesive. By far, for me, the best album is Viva when it comes to the journey from the first track to the last. A Rush has the best tracks though and its an amazing album. I think GS is going to be a great album, but I dont think there will be any legendary songs, unless they are keeping their cards close to their chest. Just solid songs that support each other. Midnight is pretty awesome, so maybe that will end up being the top song

I think it deserves the three Rolling Stone gave it. I mean, three is decent and for me, Magic is decent. Midnight is a solid four. Hopefully, this is just a Coldplay putting out its most commercial song out.

In all the recent photos, they've just worn different clothing. It's all dark though, so that's a common factor.

Yeah, I 100% agree. Luckily I have learned to at points (a lot with MX) to not read too much into the lyrics, but these are decent. Not his worst, but far from Viva material which was by far his best. Midnight reminded me of that era a lot more lyrics wise when Chris was writing more metaphors and idioms into his songs. Hopefully the rest of the albums leans towards Midnight's type of lyrics.
