It sound kind of forced in the album, but no joke, the first time I heard coldplay (outside of hearing them on the radio), it was Mylo Xyloto being played at Glastonbury on youtube. It was what hooked me onto coldplay. It was brilliant.

Your Coldplay Dream Setlist
I love the setlist. Only thing I'd change is switch Fix You and DAAHF around so white shadows can make the proper transition.

I kind of want another instrumental piece like Life in Technicolor and Mylo Xyloto. Mylo Xyloto is beautiful live. <3

I was joking:D everyone is talking about all these different styles of music, but tbh, I think that whatever they do it will be freaking awesome.

I'd love a revolution 9 kind of song, with all the backwards messages and all that. Just to keep everyone on their toes.

How am I wrong on so many counts? If you are refering to my comments on the White Album, don't get me wrong, it's an amazing album with some of my favorite songs, but as an album itself its the only beatle album I can't listen to without skipping at least three or four songs. It's about opinion really, and outright accusing me of being "wrong" is silly to be honest.

From what I gathered from that interview, perhaps they were working on a complex, "abstract" sound but it didn't work out.

The White Album by the Beatles was good, but even they had a bunch of fillers. Could Coldplay make a double album that had quality? Perhaps, but Chris would have to have a lot of great songs in a short amount of time.

I don't know how abstract music is a bad thing, but if Coldplay thinks it's garbage, that's enough for me. Maybe they are just experimenting with sounds until they found the one they like?

Really? I didn't know that, I was led to assume it was Indian, but thanks :D

Actually, I believe we all want good songs. I could care less if they play with rocks and recorders, if it is a good song, I'll be happy.

I would love a Coldplay Indian music sound. Sitars kick ass, just saying.

Hahaha, at the time of the beatles, rock music was pop, hence the rolling stones, the who, and the beatles dominating the charts. But you know what? This is a thread that is about Coldplay's next album, so I won't bother trying to deal with an opinion that will be static no matter what I say.

He's being ironic if it's my guess, but I love sharing my favorite albums, so I don't mind obliging his request, whether it was genuine or not.

Interesting... Alright. Well, I'm a classic rock guy so it will be a lot of seventies and sixties music. Abbey Road -Beatles Sheer Heart Attack - Queen Revolver -Beatles Aftermath - Rolling Stones Never mind - Nirvana Sergeants Lonely Heart club band - Beatles Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin Band on the Run - Paul McCartney Night of the Opera - Queen Who's Next - The Who So that's my list, but keep in mind, that these bands have a lot of great albums. These are just my personal favorites.

Coldplay lyrics are quite good actually, IMO. They are lacking in X&Y and Parachutes, but are superb in A Rush, MX, and Viva.

I'm a lyrics guy, though sometimes, if the music is spectacular, I'll ignore bad lyrics, or if the music video is awesome, I'll ignore the music and lyrics all together (Gangnam style I'm talking to you :D) but everyone has their preferences and as long as no one likes Justin Bieber (that demon that spawned in my country) I'm good. Now I'm waiting for the guy who actually likes him.....

Taylor swift is decent, and lady Gaga has talent when she wants to use it. My problem with pop is that it doesn't relate with me. Songs like Trouble relates with me because it reminds of the times I hurt my friends and then felt guilty afterwards. Mainstream pop consists of usually party songs, break up songs, standard song love songs... Songs that are repeated so much that it no longer relates. If you like it, however, that is your choice.

All music is art, just as all paintings are art... Thing is that there are the Leonardo da Vinci's paintings and then there are the kindergartener's hand paintings. Technically, both are forms of art but one is more creative and complex while the other one is... Well, a hand painting. Now I am not saying that pop music is the hand painting in music. But it does vary. I think artists like Adele (not really pop though...) and Kanye West who write their own music, and practically direct their music in whatever way they feel fit. And they both are critically claimed. Now as for Nicki Minaj... I'm quite biased because I can't stand her, probably because she is a judge for American idol and I perfer singers who are mostly better than the contestants doing the judging. And for her music... Meh. The lyrics are terrible. But that's me, the middle class white man. I can see why people like her and if that's what they want to listen to, good on them. Ill listen to the artists who perfect their art, not only just make it.

Don't worry lol, you haven't offended me :P. I do think Coldplay seems to be able to do anything and perform well at it.

Apparently it's a terrible thing to label any Coldplay music with genres. Just warning you.

Calm down man, no need to use the caps. I simply meant that I wanted a harder edge in their "rock music." Like politik. I do disagree with you when you say going back to rush of blood music is not progressing. It's like saying that a band has to keep adding new sounds onto their music. That's not the case. Many very popular bands have gone back a step and shed those extra sounds and made some of their best music. Now can you please respect my opinion? I mean, it's not like I was posting directly to you ;)
