  1. Arcade fire for viva and and idk for a rush of blood to the head.
  2. Beatles - Paperback writer
  3. Idk what else they could do that doesn't isolate a part of their fan base. I mean, sure, there a little things they could change, but they've done so much in five albums. Parachutes they had acoustic music. AROBTTH had hard rock. X&Y had ballads and synth driven rock. Viva had an exotic feeling to it. MX was a more pop album with a touch of rock. What's next? Jazz? Here's the thing, I think they can go either three directions from here. Go full on pop. Start smashing the charts, and smashing our hearts. I doubt they do that though. They could go to their roots and do rock/acoustic stuff. Or they mix it up. I truly believe that's the only way they could surprise us. Some people might disagree, and if so, please tell me a new genre for them to test. I hope they don't experiment any more. I hope they find out what music they can play the best and make a masterpiece like they did with Viva and AROBTTH. An album to shut up critics for good. Maybe I'm being too opportunistic, but I think other then Arcade Fire, Coldplay is one of the only popular bands left who can make an album that can be considered one of the best albums ever. Let me put it this way. The closest two albums CP has done are Parachtues and AROBTTH. They are both rock, just one is more lighter then the other one. Is it a coincidence that AROBTTH is considered usually the best album with the biggest songs? Not everyone will agree, but the fact that they had been playing and writing that type of music for more than three years makes me believe that you cant pull out a Viva every new album. Sometimes you have to settle and master it. Rant over.
  4. I know, after trying to many times.

    Square one vs White shadows
  6. I'm bumping this baby :) I saw Paul McCartney in BC Place a month ago. He played all his classics and it was fucki amazing. Now I need to see Coldplay again.
  7. Lol I knew there would be a beatles thread in here somewhere. Thanks
  8. Community and Game of thrones :D and a bit of How I met your mother
  9. There is probably a Beatles thread, but it's buried or something Anyways, I think no matter if you are a Justin Bieber:veryangry2: or a Coldplay, you have to pay some kind of homage to the Beatles, like them or not. They didn't invent music, but they practically made pop into different genres, rather then just one type of music. They're arguably my favorite band, fighting Coldplay for it everyday. Any other beatlemaniacs here?

Sloth + Lion = slion I have to admit of thinking for a very long time about this one

My life will never be the same after seeing the thread :P My friend actually owns two goats...
  13. For me it's simple. One of them has Amsterdam in it and the other doesn't. Amsterdam>>>>>>>>ETDIAWF
  14. Chris has one of the most underrated voices for sure. People expect singers who can wail in high pitch voices and dub them amazing singers. To me, a great singer is one who can emotionally touch me with their voice, no matter how powerful the voice is or how large their register is. Chris Martin is the best at transferring his emotions through his voice to the audience.
  15. Politik has a pretty amazing bass line. It starts slow, and when Chris starts singing the "open up your eyes" part, the bass line just emphasizes the pure power in the song.
  16. The most epic song with tons of different sounds layered into one just breaks down into the organ you barely hear. It kind of symbolizes what fix you is about.
  17. Am I the only one who thinks the ending almost equals the endings of politik and Fix You? Swimming in a sea of faces Tide of human races Answer now, it's what i neeeeeeeeeeeed see it on the new sun rising See it break on your horizon Oh c'mon love, stay with meeeeeeeeee Whenever I hear Chris sing that last line both parts of the end, I get chills. I'm not saying the song itself is top quality, but the ending is so damn epic. I almost wish they added this the setlist before fix you. What do you guys think?
  18. I'm relatively new too, but welcome. This is one of the more homely forums around (I've been too a few nasty ones) :D I agree about X&Y, it's starting to grow on me. LP6 should have the emotional impact of parachutes, the lyric quality of A rush of blood tot the head, the confidence of X&Y, mature themes like Viva, and the liveliness of MX. That is the perfect album for me, whether you want a dark sound or a happy sound, if you combine the best parts of all the album, you have the perfect one. It just shows you CP has the ability to make such an album.

Without reading the thread, why do we have a thread with the words goat and sex in the same sentence?
  20. I'm not alone!!!! BC ftw. It is quite nice though.
  21. I picked Viva because of the setlist, but seeing the video of the concerts in MX tour, the energy the bring to the crowd is unbelievable. I don't think there is a band in history that can do what Coldplay does.
  22. Only 1 year/2 years of waiting for something that will last forever. Sounds good to me. I'll still suffer though.
  23. I was bored and I'm a poet:D so I decided to attempt to make a song. The titles looks like some Muse song, but I'm hardly a musician (I can play the Scientist, Trouble, Clocks, Viva on the piano). I guess this would start with some soft minor chords being played in the beginning, setting the tone. As the songs get angrier, the piano gets louder, and by the chorus, it's getting pounded. At the third verse, the drums would set in (I'm dreaming now:P) and then at the outro, everything goes nuts (Kind of like a twisted Fix you or Amsterdam) Anyways, it's hardly that good, but here it is. (Lyrics in pathesis are vocal sung, almost spoke, in a dreamy in the background voice) Take it (Survive) #1 If you wanted, you could save me today Or just let me fade away (Fade away) Fade away into something more (Just fading) Better than the boy before You thought you could trick me into dying (I’m already dead) But instead I caught you lying (Or was that me?) You tried to make me fade away Fade away But instead I’m here to stay (Things change) #2 You’d trade me like some property (That’s me, That’s me) Like you owned a monopoly (On me, On me) But I’m afraid you don’t know the policy For people who have no possibility Of shame You are nothing Laying in the filth of a perverted ideal How many innocent lives can you steal? It doesn’t matter though Because when you’re just so damn low It just makes me want to let go (Chorus) Take it Take it from me I don’t care anymore My life is gone My life is done No light at the end of the tunnel Only darkness and regret That I didn’t see you for who you really are Just take it I giving it to you For free (I just don’t believe) In the future, it’s gone Take it My life It’s done #3 The door swings open and a shadow reaches out for me I just want to see (Once more before the storm) The storm is here It’s here, try not to fear Wraps me in a sheet of pain There is no train (No train) Just here to take me away From this misery, but it’s starting to kill my memories Of a normal life I beg you sir, I did my job, please show me it again (Chorus) Take it Take it from me I don’t care anymore My life is gone My life is done No light at the end of the tunnel Only darkness and regret That I didn’t see you for who you really are Just take it I giving it to you For free (I just don’t believe) In the future, it’s gone Take it My life It’s done (Outro) But not for long, cause when I saw your face, I knew There was something out there for me to Live for (Die for) Survive Survive Survive To live (To die) Doesn’t matter anymore Just try to survive Survive Don't die Survive
  24. I'm someone who was a young child when Coldplay was making Yellow, Clocks, Fix you and all that. I remember hearing these songs, but I didn't know who made them. I listened to classic rock, Beatles, QUeen, and all that... but I was on youtube and I decided to go and listen to Coldplay for no other reason but to figure out who they were. I think I knew Speed of Sound, but that's it. Obviously, I listened to paradise and bam, I got emerged into the band. But me being picky, after listening to the song a bunch of times, it got boring for me so I went back to the beatles. I was searching something on youtube a few months later when I saw COLDPLAY LIVE ROCK IN RIO. I shrugged and thought, why not, and I heard the "YEAHH!!!" Of Chris Martin and the stunning melody of Mylo Xyloto and I was hooked. I went through every song on youtube of coldplay, bought all their stuff on iTunes later. So yes, I know a lot of people who became fans. I also know a lot of old fans who are disapointed with MX. I am too, knowing what CP is capable of, but I'll always remember MX/HLH as my first real Coldplay moment.
