That's pretty awesome. Did she play another song? When was this anyways?

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Yeah, I'm growing to like Cold War Kids myself - got the album a few weeks ago since it was 2/$25 at HMV, which makes this even more annoying since I actually kind of enjoy the opener. :( Have you seen the videos of them playing on the streets of Paris, Saint John and God Make Up Your Mind? Not bad stuff!

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I can't believe they're playing in Mississauga instead of Toronto. This is the THIRD time I've missed them (the reason this time being that Mississauga = suburb far away with little public transit access and the looming unfortunate reality of having to work in another city 45 minutes away and no car). This kind of breaks my heart. :( If a Wednesday night, WHY ARROW HALL. WHY. IT'S A CONVENTION CENTRE NEAR THE AIRPORT. GRRR.

The Reindeer Section
They're pretty good. The only problem is that since it took such a short time to make and record these albums, the songs aren't always consistently strong, so you get variations. I can't listen to their second album all the way through without skipping stuff. But you should check out in alphabetical order....Budapest, Cartwheels, Cold Water, Grand Parade, If There Isn't I Haven't Found It Yet, I'll Be Here When You Wake, Strike Me Down, You Are My Joy and Your Sweet Voice - the slower stuff being generally better.

Cdn music acts grumble over presence of Coldplay, Black Eyed Peas at Junos
The Junos were never really about the indie scene. It was about who was big and who was popular, that's why even in the Best Alternative or Best Indie act section it was always the really popular ones like BSS or Hot Hot Heat or Feist or some other band that almost all Canadians know. It's lamentable that something important like Best New Group is not being shown, but really, who watches the Junos anyways...

WTF is happening?!
I wouldn't worry, every band has their ups and downs, and plus, this was the same after the two other albums, so it just seems that they get really excited together and then they get sick of each other. Hopefully they'll come to their senses quickly though!

Old Coldplay t-shirts?
Hey, I remember reading about old, Parachutes-era t-shirts that are still around somewhere. They were really neat and cool back then, kind of minimalist. Does anyone know where I can still find them online or even know what I'm talking about? Like there was a yellow on black one which had those colour card things that you get from paint shops and it says Coldplay and then like I dunno, 1035a and then there's a tone of yellow and then there's another one with Coldplay, 1039d or something. It was really neat since it was a series of them. Any ideas? Thanks!

Alternate X&Y cover?
It's actually not How You See The World, that's the first Japanese release, the second one has Poor Me on it, recorded live at the Hollywood Bowl (the same one that was one of the b-sides on the Fix You single), yeah, the one with the crazy monkey screaming lol.

News of A Live 2005 Album?
What they really need is some sort of MTV Unplugged acousticy style of a live album...

Alternate X&Y cover?
Hmmm. Why the second copy of this then if it looks to be the same thing? http://cgi.ebay.com/COLDPLAY-X-Y-JAPAN-CD-2-BONUS-TRACK-FLYER_W0QQitemZ4775337936QQcategoryZ307QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Alternate X&Y cover?
Hey guys, It seems like the lucky folk in Japan have done it again, they've got some new X&Y cover. Instead of the baudot code with the dark blue background, it's instead white. Does anyone know why it's like that, and if there's anything extra included in it or what not? There's still the original Japanese X&Y CD with the 2 bonus tracks, but I'm confused as to what this new one's about. It apparently came out on September 30th. To get an idea...

Strange Coldplay experiences?
Okay, so the Toronto Coldplay concert was last night (have fun Montrealers!) and I went to that and it was brilliant. As a result, I decided to wear my Coldplay shirt today to kind of show my pride I guess. I go to work, do stuff, blahblahblah, get off work, get on the streetcar to head back home. Now I sit at the back and there's this woman on the opposite side just sitting there. I've got my Coldplay t-shirt on, and I'm just sitting there reading the newspaper. She kind of beckons across the aisle and goes like "Hey, did you go to the Coldplay concert last night?" And I'm like "Uh yeah I did actually! Were you there too?" and she continues by explaining yeah she was, she was there with her daughter who hooked her onto Coldplay. She normally doesn't really listen to this type of music (more reggae, jazz, folk) and that yeah, she said she had a great time and she was really impressed by CM's singing abilities and the fact that everyone knew the lyrics and were singing so loudly to it. We talked a little about their success, and Grammy's and Chris Rock and somehow, I managed to slip in something about "tension of opposites" and how X&Y's supposed to represent that, the highest highs of our days mixed with the lowest of lows. It was kind of weird, just sitting there in the back of the streetcar with the sweltering heat, chatting excitedly about Coldplay and how much fun it was, me a 19 year old university kid working for the summer and her, a 40 year old plus hip mom who had accompanied her daughter to the concert. Really speaks to the collective existence of the Coldplay audience eh? I love my boys. :D

[2005] Aug 2, ACC, Toronto Reviews
Sorry, I accidentally forgot about Warning Sign (the problems of writing the set list on your hand while dancing and sweating like a fool up in the 300 section heh). It's number 10. The Scientist in reverse isn't really like them singing it, it was just the behind the scenes playing that part while they set up for 'Till Kingdom Come. The band were also taking photos at that part (there were flashes from the stage).
