Well said an_cat. I don't really know much about U2 aside from The Joshua Tree (WTSHNN twenty years later sounds like it was made yesterday and is still as affecting as it ever was) but I think the two bands are on two completely different pages right now. They may be in the same book, or a book that both deal with the same kind of plot or subject, but I think U2 have passed the climax and are already nearing the end, and with Coldplay, the intrigue's only really just started. I can only hope that Coldplay will become as famous and varied as U2 has become in the last twenty years, but I have no doubt they will.

If you could ask on behalf of the Canadian fans here, that would be absolutely awesome! I know I'd love to get my grubby hands on that magazine. :)

If they had time, I'd love to hear/see an unplugged version of their stuff. Kinda like MTV unplugged or what not, since pretty much all the MTV Unplugged albums are amazing....it'd be great to hear their songs drastically toned down from the originals. But yeah, if they had time.

You need to read http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/internet/downloading_music.html Downloading music by law here in Canada is not considered illegal. Putting songs onto shared folders on Kazaa is not considered distribution and is thus not considered illegal.

The Liberal government in the fall session will introduce legislation to prevent downloading of copyrighted materials. :( So much for being protected! One of the Gallagher brothers says that he liked them, don't remember which one. Personally, I'm not a fan of them at all. Saw them opening for Keane, and they were pretty straight forward ho hum rock. Hope you have a better time than I did Dave S!

In time most likely, but they haven't shown anything that would lead me to say they've made anything classic. The Scientist, yeah will probably be on the oldies station fifty years from now, but will the band be remembered as "Wow, what an impact"? That remains to be seen!
