  1. A loose indie record with Champion Of The World as a template is something I could see them doing. Even if you don't like AHFOD, they've never made the same album twice, so there's no reason why they would do AHFOD part 2. By the way, I like Champion Of the World a lot, but I think it's the only song that feels like it's part of a different album. There's way weirder stuff on the album, but this song is the biggest outlier to me. Don't know why it feels that way.
  2. Yeah, they'll never do that. Also, it doesn't mean or prove anything and would cause chaos.
  3. The strange thing is, most of these small gigs in the past were not really more difficult to get tickets for compared to some of the stadium gigs. Still... I don't have the guts... :p
  4. That's a great tip! But I'm not sure if I can risk it without tickets.
  5. Haha, I knew it! Such a nice little tribute. I remember reading somewhere the band were doing gospel singing on a regular basis with Eno during the recording of Viva La Vida. It was some sort of morning workout exercise.
  6. While I would also assume a more accessible record would follow, I'm sure the band can change their mind a million times before the next record is released. A record company executive is probably the least reliable source in all of this.
  7. Why are last minute Eurostar tickets so crazy expensive? Flights are less than a third of the cost of a train ticket. That's crazy.o_O
  8. Download Tunnelbear. Quick and easy. Turn it on and select UK as your location. Just don't forget to turn it back off, since you only have 500 MB of data for free.
  9. Yeah, I would love to know this as well. If it's an afternoon show, I could make it.
  10. Yeah, that does indeed sound like a lot of trouble. It's weird that it both says "Exclusive ticket access to UK fans who pre-order Everyday Life" and "no purchase necessary".
  11. Yeah, that's what I'm betting on so far. The could do a cross check with the e-mail addresses and delivery addresses for all the orders they received though. I already ordered the vinyl LP with a Belgian address last week. Fingers crossed that will also work.
  12. So, is there anyone who will let me enter their UK address when I order the vinyl album? I'm willing to order a second copy of the album in any format which you can keep for free. :p
  13. That Drew Goddard credit is so random! I'm curious about the story behind it.
  14. This is hands down the best Coldplay concert video out there. Beats the mediocre AROBTTH live DVD. If anyone hasn't seen it yet, expect to be blown away!
  15. Which songs do you miss the most live? I miss the AROBTTH era version of Everything's Not Lost. It's been played on later tours, but even if some of the versions are more or less the same length as in 2002-2003, I sometimes feel like they're rushing through the song more. It used to be such a communal experience. An absolute highlight that lifted every gig they did back then. I also miss the Parachutes and AROBTTH versions of Trouble. Somehow, I feel like the song sounded better back then. Don't really know why. The same goes for Yellow, even though I'm just happy they've always kept playing it. It sounded a bit off on the Twisted Logic tour and it hasn't quite reached the same heights of the Parachutes tour ever since. In fact, ever since Chris ditched the acoustic guitar halfway through the AROBTTH tour, it never sounded the same anymore (even if he returned to the acoustic guitar post Twisted Logic). It's still a killer live track though, don't get me wrong! It just shows how good the song still is. Oh, and Cemeteries of London. It sounded so good live. Unfortunately, on the Viva tour it seemed like an opportunity for half of the crowd to go and get beers. So I guess, they won't ever bring it back. Which is a shame, because I really loved it!
  16. I've listened to EL quite a bit more over the weekend and I would definitely rank it above X&Y now. It's such an interesting album. Really, I couldn't be happier with it. After all these years, my favourite band can still surprise me. And that's more than I could have hoped for. This album has given me songs that I know I will be listening to for the rest of my life. Songs that will stay with me wherever I go, whatever happens in the future. Songs that will lift me up, make me dance or that I will just silently enjoy while drinking a cup of tea, sitting in a rocking chair when I'm 85. Couldn't be happier!
  17. Jewelcase. I also bought it yesterday. It was available in most record-stores in Belgium and Holland.
  18. I got a free t-shirt at the buzz gig in Amsterdam with 'coldplay secret gig' on it. :)
  19. I hope this one got bootlegged, but considering we haven't heard anything from Coachella, I'm not too hopeful.
  20. That doesn't look like a review to me.
  21. Low

Low was the most impressive of the new songs I've heard. Too bad I can't remember anything from the song. :) A mix of Parachutes and Interpol.
  22. I can barely wait for a bootleg to surface of this thing. :wink3:
  23. Someone from the board who was/is at Coachella?
