Bloc Party
No need to worry apparently! Kele Okereke says 'Flux' will not be like their new album Dec 16, 2007 2 Comments Add Bloc Party to MyNME Bloc Party have admitted that their recent hit single will not be a reflection of what their forthcoming third album is like. Frontman Kele Okereke claims the track 'Flux', which has given the band a new dance edge, has allowed the four-piece to broaden their horizons. But he warned that the band will not be going in the same direction for the follow up to 'A Weekend In The City'. He told BBC 6 Music: "'Flux' isn't an indication at all about the next record. The important thing about this record for me was that it showed we could do anything we wanted, we weren't going to settle for being any other guitar band of 2007. Luckily it was successful." Drummer Matt Tong added: "I think one crucial thing about that song was it was radically different from anything we attempted before and I think it was important in terms of opening up... broadening our horizons". Several remixes of track were given away on a covermount CD in the NME last month. The song charted at Number Eight in the UK singles chart. http://www.nme.com/news/bloc-party/33214

[NEWS] Peter Van Wood: 'Coldplay copied me'
Yeah, absolutely! Pieces ( ) is just a ridiculously obvious copy of The Scientist, whereas that old guys song sounds absolutly nothing like Coldplay, maybe the poor old fellows got a new album out and fancies a bit of publicity or something!

Sigur Rós
Sigur Ros to release concert movie They tell NME.COM there's a 'new' album as well 2 hours ago Sigur Ros are to release a concert film shot in their native Iceland last summer. 'Heima', out on November 5, was filmed in various locations, and features some of the band's biggest and smallest shows of their career. Drummer Orri Páll Dýrason told NME.COM: "It was good to film it in our home country, sometimes we were playing these big show and then we were playing in those really small fields, which was beautiful. "It was fun doing those, shows, especially in front of our friends. Really nice." A trailer for the film can be seen here (windows) or here (quick time). On the same day a compilation album, titled 'Hvarf-Heim', will also be released. Split into two sections, the first, 'Hvarf', features three unreleased tracks from the band's works, and a fourth, 'Von', which is a radically reworked track from the band's first album. Dýrason said: "We are having a clear out, really! One of the songs even dates back to 1994! "We picked the ones we really like. It's not like a normal album. There are a lot of good songs on there, but they didn't fit when it came to putting the albums together." The tracklisting is: 'Salka' 'Hljomalind' 'I Gaer' 'Von' 'Heim' is made up of six acoustic versions of songs taken from Sigur Ros' four studio albums to date. The tracklisting is: 'Samskeyti' 'Staralfur' 'Vaka' 'Agaetis Byrjun' 'Heysatan' 'Von' http://www.nme.com/news/sigur-ros/30000

funeral
For me it couldn't be anything other than Everything's Not Lost, the lyrics are amazing and I think it'd be kind of cool to go out with all the instruments making as much noise as possible

The Least Wussy Moment In Coldplay History - Martin Tells Paps to "F*ck off!"
Its just so annoying the way that articles like this are based on such narrow stereotypes and half-arsed research. Its just such horrific journalism and I'd whole-heartedly support James (the ****) Blunt if he said the same to a papparazzo, those two do so well to put up with what they do, who can begrudge them the odd slip. Asise from which, Chris swearing is hardly unusual, didn't he jokingly call the crowd in Brazil 'f**king bastards' the other week for asking them to play an old song?!
