  1. Who knows what Chris is ever talking about.. Before tracks actually release, we never know anything. He certainly likes using the word "something." when talking about band projects.
  2. GUYS! WHOA! i just had a thought. So I have been mulling over the title ever since the news broke and honestly, I really dislike "A Head Full of Dreams." I kept asking myself "how could they come up with a ill described and clunky?" I kept trying to say it over and over until I liked it and then I realized...maybe we are not hearing chris correctly! Maybe he isn't saying "A Head" which just sounds awkward... MAYBE THE TITLE IS AHEAD, FULL OF DREAMS!! I could be completely wrong, but to me, that is a way more interesting and though provoking title than the former!! If you listen to the interview, it honestly sounds like he could be saying either one. Imma ask the Oracle. Thoughts?
  3. I will admit boo boo boo got me worked up even though I was extremely skeptical :) at least it was fun though. So desperate for new Coldplay! Atleast Miracles should drop any day now. In regards to a single: It is hard to say! Chris says they are in the middle of recording it, which is about where they were a year ago when they started on Ghost Stories..so maybe another April/May release. I want to say February for a single, but considering the fact they still need to pick a date with the record company/potentially get artwork and tours figured out, it could be a lot later :(
  4. My first impression was AWESOME! Then it was, wait, reading that outloud feels funny, A Head Full Of Dreams?? Now I am feeling neutral. I like dreams, and I like Full of Dreams, but I don't know if I like head..it is just so heady you know? Anybody know what I mean? It doesn't roll of the tongue poetically, like Soul Full Of Dreams or Mind Full of Dreams or maybe A Night Full Of Dreams? I would like any of those better. Either way, I think every Coldplay album since X&Y has sounded like the title implies: X&Y electronic and other worldly, VLV eclectic and diverse, MX colourful bright and comicbooky, and GS haunting and murkey. So what does A Head Full Of Dreams sound like?
  5. Looking at the film's review, though, this guy clearly doesn't like the movie and so maybe he wasnt in the proper state to hear the track. Milquetoast is a term I have heard before and I can easily see it a critic of Coldplay applying it to their music: sappy, overly-dramatic, too quiet, not urgent. Reading the paragraph makes me contextualize this review as if the guy doesn't like Coldplay to begin with, so I am not going to take this review to heart yet, besides, there has been one other positive review.
  6. Every Coldplay concert seems to have a few extra melodies thrown in here or there on the end or beginning of a song. I think that Boo Boo Boo is just giving us useless riddles, no offense, but that I only think there is some extra stuff perhaps on the end of Warning Sign or during the clocks interlude maybe (the freaky pysecedelic part they have been doing for awhile) that we could assume are non-released melodies. That is on the 27th, but really, this feels like a Witch Hunt.
  7. I am super surprised Ghost Stories made a top 50 list this year! That is pretty cool! I never understood how sites rank best albums, I mean, I usually have 10 per year that I adore but I usually don't necessarily have a favorite. I like to look at these lists as "50 Great (Better than average) albums of 2014" If that makes sense. hahaha but more surprised Songs of Innocence got #1. Rolling Stone was the only site all year to love that album. I personally didn't like it at all. Joey Ramone is good though, and the once Chris is on is really good too.
  8. Sorry Chris, but I have to say that Bruce's voice is more suitable for U2. I absolutely love Bruce Springsteen.
  9. I would certainly like them as a band, but I don't know if I would fall in love the way I did with AROBTTH or Viva, the two albums that hooked me in for good.
  10. ^ Maybe that is why I am taking so much notice: I both generally am interested in what is being said and I am desperate for any stirs in the LP7 realm... That being said, all of this doesn't seem far fetched. Chris has loved collaborations recently and I could see "Random Acts" being a working title. I mean, Chris loves The Flaming Lips and they have come out with a couple completely collaborative albums recently. As far as rumors go, this could easily happen, and I would go further by saying that at this point, like the case with the Ghost Stories plane incident, we really just don't know and have to put our faith in what we hear.
  11. ^Could be...I honestly am surprised artists are able to keep their material under wraps, especially when they are as high-profile as Coldplay. My only issue with this information is that it almost seems to know too much. If the album was going to be "surprised dropped" in the next few months, which is a bit of a thing right now, then I might believe some of this seeing how the band would have to be recording songs and working heavily in studio etc.
  12. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?! Random Acts rumor resurfacing ay? Interesting... Sorry BooBooBoo, not trying to discredit you, but you know, interwebs... You have nonetheless stirred me quite a bit, even if none of this is reliable in the slightest! :)
  13. Round 1: MX/Hurts Like Heaven vs Always In My Head Round 2: Paradise vs. Magic Round 3: Charlie Brown vs. Ink Round 4: Us Against The World vs. True Love Round 5: MMIX/ETIAW vs Midnight Round 6: Major Minus vs. Another's Arms Round 7: Up In Flames vs. Oceans Round 8: A Hopeful Transimission/DLIBYH vs ASFOS. Round 9: Up With The Birds vs O (Fly On) MX: 7 GS: 2
  14. hmm, I never have even though about Coldplay touring with more musicians but looking at this thread it makes total sense for them to do so. Pretty much every other big band will do it if their songs require extra instrumentation, look at Arcade Fire's latest tour for example. There must be 20 people on stage at some points and it sounds amazing. I like having just the four boys though, and I know sacrifices have to be made for the sake of some of the most layered songs, but I totally agree that it is frustrating. MX didn't bother me much because they were playing A TON on that tour, but with Midnight, Magic, and ASFOS performed live, it looks like they are faking more than ever. But whose to say really. I actually bet in Midnight that Guy does do something with those bass notes, he certainly looks super focused if not nervous the first time they performed it.
  15. ^No, I think there are plenty of fans who wouldn't mind this at all! As much as I would prefer an album that sounds quite different than MX or ASFOS, I can't say that I would be all that upset if they pulled an MX 2.0 :) Truth is, as much as some won't admit it, MX was overall really great and I appreciated how they made pop music that was layered, unique, glitchy, xylobrytie but all the same really catchy. If they can balance their quality alternative rock sound with electronics in a fun, creative and artistic way again, then i am all for it! The problem is that MX had some big faults, and more so, a lot of us that are vocal in the Coldplaying community just don't really care for ASFOS. You are right, Charlie Brown, and DLIBYH are similar to ASFOS, but I think they bring more interesting, original sounds to the table whereas ASFOS features some uninteresting, been-there-done-that chord progressions and some cliche EDM influence that added exactly what Coldplay was looking to avoid after MX: A wall of sound. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate ASFOS, and I love the lyrics and vibe, but it is probably my least favourite Coldplay single, if not song, ever. If the song had to be an explosion, I just wish that they would have worked to make it sound more like a four-person, instrumentally inspired effort. And your comment about the tour: preach! I am afraid I will never get to see them because they are getting older and haven't come within 500 miles of me since 2009. :(
  16. Chris says in the new Beats video "He made an Avicii version, we made a Coldplay version, and then we spent weeks like (making gestures to say combining the two)" CAN WE PLEASE JUST HEAR THE COLDPLAY VERSION! CAN THEY RELEASE THAT!?!?!?!?! PLEASE??!?!
  17. Hi! Nobody actually knows when the next album is coming out, but most rumors, like you mentioned, suggest sometime in 2015. We also don't know how the album is going to sound at all. Coldplay always mixes things up every album, so we really won't know until we get a single. Their new song "Miracles," which is dropping in about a month for the film Unbroken could be a clue, but once again, we really don't know anything about the album or how it sounds. If you want to see what people have been saying, check out the LP7 thread where we are constantly speculating and anxiously awaiting. Most of us are predicting a big, explosive pop and radio-friendly album, and you can see our reasoning for that on the thread, though many of us hope we are wrong :D
  18. I am really excited about this potentially being Coldplay, Miracles or not. Those strings sound great in particular, really beautiful and Christmasy, almost sounding like the recent surge of folk-pop music. I will admit I am bit tired of all the oooo ooooing thought. Pretty much feels like a Chris Martin impulse every time they write a pop track, it has gotten way too cheesy for me and tiresome...like too much of a good thing, you know? Chris is the king of the killer sing-along-hook, but their albums sometimes feel like you are having 9 pieces of chocolate cake for supper...if that makes sense. I like epic, chanting songs... but how they write?
  19. I wouldn't be so sure. That cooing sing-a-long sounds awfully like Coldplay to me. I admit the drum pattern is different, but so was that of Christmas Lights. I don't know how to define upbeat really, but I find the melody to be more pretty than uplifting. Especially if this is the last minute of the track, the rest could be pretty sad sounding. Hopefully it is a Christmas single again, and we are getting two tracks in December! But I am betting this is Miracles...
  20. Wowzers! If that is really it, I am loving the strings, though should I say, single violin! How cool would it be if that is Will fiddling away? Like the piano, sounds like some good 'ol Coldplay wooo woooing. Can't wait for full version.
  21. ^:) Anything is possible eh? Good point though! Seeing how it is a story about survival and perseverance, and the track closes out the credits, my guess is beautiful, sentimental sounding verses, piano heavy, with joyous epic chorus.
  22. If LP7 is right around the corner, then I think yes. Christmas Lights had nothing to do with MX because they were spaced by over a year, but Atlas definitely showed that Coldplay's recording sessions were including electronics, old sounds, and more moody then suddenly upbeat sentiments: Ghost Stories. If the band is recording LP7 now, and Miracles was one of their first projects in that recording process, then I think you are right. I am posing a 80% probability :inquisitive: that we can expect at least some of the elements of Miracles to make LP7, if they are recorded close to each other.
  23. Because it snowed in my town last night, and when I played the album, I realized it is very very wintery (: A far better album for the winter than for the summer!
  24. ^Well said. I think you are probably right. They really have set themselves on that path of music. To some extant though, I wonder how their age will effect the sound. I mean all the guys will be heading into their 40's in a few years. Doesn't seem like there are many 40 year olds still making hip music out there haha
