Your choice of X&Y tracklisting?
OK, you have the album tracks and b-sides: how would you arrange the tracklist for the X&Y album and what would you leave for b-side material? Rules: 1. You must leave at least 3 for b-sides, so 15 album tracks as maximum (there's some bad math for you) 2. No ballistic weapons you have: Square One What If White Shadows Fix You Talk X&Y Speed Of Sound A Message Low The Hardest Part Swallowed In The Sea Twisted Logic 'Til Kingdom Come Things I Don't Understand Proof The World Turned Upside Down Gravity Sleeping Sun How You See The World (1 or 2) go! (PS: If you're really bored, say which you'd release as singles (not necessarily personal favourites))

I don't like the releasing of 5 singles from one album, it really seems to be scraping a barrel really. I know, in this case, that it is a silver plated barrell, but what's wrong with leaving the rest as album tracks.

EARLS COURT
driving, I'm in Preston at the moment (though home is Leeds)

Yes well Radiohead are this kind of band who you either incredibly like or incredibly hate from the first time you listen to them. I'm a convert. Apart from KidA/Amnesiac. Actually, I don't think most people liked KidA when it was first released.

EARLS COURT
would it be cheaper to try and get tickets for Earl's Court and pay the train fare (don't fancy the drive) or tickets to Manchester? Either way is unlikely to be afordable but its about option-weighing-up time

What effect does Everything's Not Live have on you when.....
its just a great, crowd pleasing sing-along, everything that's good about stadium atmospheres comes out in it live. A bit dull on record though, it was made to be performed live.

Best Song Number #11, 12, 13??
I love 'Til Kingdom Come but Amsterdam blows anything else away, my favourite Coldplay song and one of my favourites of all time. And I take personal offense to people choosing Swallowed In The Sodding Sea here, sorry, they copied it off the free CD that came with 'The Beginner's Guide To Songwriting' magazine.

1. U2 2. Radiohead 3. Coldplay 3 of my top 5 list. Though my favourite Coldplay songs are preferred to my favourite Radiohead. U2 rules all though.

Worst album(s) of 2005.
I reckon you should change the title from 'worst' to 'most disappointing'. X&Y would be top of my list too, just because of AROBTTH really. Other albums that are in the "good, but not as good as I know they can be" vein, would be Turin Brakes' JackInABox and Oasis' latest. Was Ocean Colour Scene's latest this year too? That was just plain bad. Get Behind Me Satan was a big let-down after the quality of the previous two White Stripes albums. After the live show I'd seen, The Magic Numbers debut was disappointing too. If I was forced to pick a 'worst' though, it would be The Subways Young For Eternity. Proof that marketers can make a successful 'rock' band out of one person's legs.

Mary J. Blige
I don't really like her either, sorry for the thread intrusion, I respect it, but don't like the style of music. Anyhow, I just watched the boot of her doing One on stage with U2 in Vegas and I thought there was a lot of potential in that there song (I can't stand her solo version of it though) if they'd worked on it a bit more beforehand. I'll clear off now, ta-ra.

Whereabouts do you actually live? Are you within train/walking distance of a venue? I found for the second night in Manchester, I got my tickets the day before the show dead cheap (see long pointless ramble below). The moral of the story is, if you have the money, a close venue and a free night, always check ebay frequently on the day - as I'm going to be doing with Coldplay on the 19th. long story: I bid on them on ebay, 2 for ~$70, as I was setting off at 6am for the first show and sent the seller an email asking them to call me if I won. I only bid on them because the item location was Manchester, so I'd be able to collect them in the city I'd be in. I won, and met the person selling and it turns out they were selling them on behalf of someone who lives on my road back home. Co-incidences eh? Was a good thing I'd booked two days off work too!

8/10 (though probably a 9 on an all-music-ever scale) Radiohead - Electioneering- Coldplay DVD??
I'm only speculating, but I think there could be cameras at the Earl's Court dates this month - of course, there's some sort of documentary being filmed that would make a good tour diary/extras feature (unless there is more recent information regarding this).- Manic Street Preachers
BUMP ......quite a bit later so it would seem - sorry, completely forgot about your request I've just uploaded 42 said acoustic solos to the multimedia forum: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24653- how good are floor seats???
do you still have no standing in America?- U2
