  1. Re: #1 I dislike any song that depresses me. I tend to like Viva la Vida, yellow, Miracles, POC, SFOS and Magic the best. To be honest I haven't heard all of Coldplay's songs (only a handful). Because I don't usually buy albums anymore :P I like Every Teardrop but there's something strangely melancholy about it. When I first heard it, thought it was done by Underworld. :P The video for True Love is charming.
  2. Re: #23 Spidey, they already had a running (grumbling) discussion about how the Minions are annoying creatures.. . But I think they're cute and of course it's a great idea to dress them as Coldplay members.
  3. Re: post #1 I agree. This would have been a great idea if they had done it correctly. The curly blond hair would have been funnier on Kevin :P
  4. Re: post #8 These days it's hard to make money in the music bizz without filling huge stadiums, unless you're a pro d.j. or do soundtracks.
  5. I too prefer the Muppet. And a cover version of the Muppet theme song should be featured on A Head Full of Dreams.
  6. Blubber28: I love that track. I can't believe I never listened to it until just now! It's amazing. The vocals are really well done. (Re: post #8)
  7. Charlie: That's great. It will be fun to see what you do with it:) I'm glad you like it.
  8. Batman: Good point. But maybe he meant the REAL jacket.I mean, off Chris' back. In which case it's a creepy post anyway.
  9. How come you haven't met them, Sparky? Should happen someday because of all the work you put in :P
  10. You could find something very similar if you just look in a trendy mall boutique. It's probably by H&M or Aeropostale, etc (If you're in N. America).Or you could buy a very similar jacket and pay a seamstress to attach a hood.
  11. I used to play with a toy/"learning" guitar (because it's easier if your hands are smaller). But anyway you get lots of accidental (and cool) effects with a toy instrument. But you have to clamp it to keep it in tune. Maybe Chris Martin has done it before too.:P
  12. Lax 1)I was surprised to learn that he's ahead of the program to keep music courses in schools (for American children). Its' good to see an electro-musician who is so respected. 2)I used to own a copy of the Ecco/Dolphin soundtrack and it sounds like some of your work
  13. Lax: some of your work sounds like Spencer Nilsen (sort of meditative)but I really like "Stormy Night" and "Dangerous Expedition".
  14. S: Thanks for the look-up.
  15. Charlie: Feel free to re-arrange because I didn't get the rhyme&meter perfect as you might have noticed :) I have a new song in reserve that's in more of a rock format but I just posted the funny poem instead. It has some good concepts, I thought. But the lines could be shortened or re-arranged.
  16. Spidey-Man: I guess I don't live in the attic! Are you trying to say there's such a forum listed?
  17. Here's part two: (You've Really Done it Now) Now you've done it, done it now What if this feeling's bigger than love What if it's tossing a rose at an elf Who can't catch without crushing herself I'll build you up so much, you'll see We'll both be huge, heads in the trees With heads in the clouds, can't make it down And what if the song starts drawing crowds If I can't stop singing the light into dark And the song rings out like a meadowlark How will you know my voice from the birds' and whatever you do, you can't catch the words And what if God starts singing it too And says "Go, .. write it down now" Or will he say, "You've done it, clown" And throw us down, like it's all too much But it's all cool So we'll all keep in touch.
  18. Charlie: You've (Really) Done it Now You've done it now, you showed your stuff Now you've really built me up Now I'm taller than the highest building how will I find which room you're in? If I can leap there in just a few bounds,.. What will you do if I can't slow down? If you shine your eyes like a waving wand What if it makes me a statue of bronze Or just the most beautiful girl (man) in the world How will you ever find the words To talk to me, to get the nerve To walk with me , If you've really done it, done it now If I leap my way to you in just a few bounds what will you do when I can't slow down You've really done it, done it now And isn't it sad that we had to say, "And to think we're just human beings". If I sing your songs will they ever believe I've never dated Sophocles
  19. Charlie: I wrote (or started) a cool song called "You've Really Done it, Now". It's funny and it's pretty good but I have to edit it a bit before posting. While I was writing, a fireworks display was going on and there was a live band in the distance playing 60's classics.
  20. Charlie, will you write one for me, pls? I'm picky though. I might put some song lyrics on here some time, because living in Canada means that I have automatic copyright protection under domestic laws. So by being the first to publish it thru some medium (this site is included, ...I'm assuming), I'm less likely to get burned than I would be by generating stuff 'blindly' (sending it out privately and unsolicited).
  21. Eduardo, I like 80's-style guitar solos; favorites are Van Halen (Panama)during the D.L. Roth era, also Bryan Adams. But I can't envision Jonny doing the Van Halen style.
  22. You (Patrik) are a great natural talent and so you could do minimalism or do complicated techniques. Jonny's sound is actually sort of vintage but it is still beautiful. Good thing for Coldplay! Btw I used to sing in a Goth metal band and I did trance songwriting but now I am fascinated with (Canadian and American) country music. Patrik, you are very talented and I like your voice.
