  1. This one was interesting... London Telegraph | April 10 2006 For many years now, human-caused climate change has been viewed as a large and urgent problem. In truth, however, the biggest part of the problem is neither environmental nor scientific, but a self-created political fiasco. Consider the simple fact, drawn from the official temperature records of the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia, that for the years 1998-2005 global average temperature did not increase (there was actually a slight decrease, though not at a rate that differs significantly from zero). Yes, you did read that right. And also, yes, this eight-year period of tempe…

Tomb Raider has made a successful comeback, with the latest game, Legend, debuting at number one in the official UK games charts. Lara Croft creators worked to revive the game's reputation after the previous version, Angel of Darkness, was critically panned. The new adventure has already sold three times the number sold by The Godfather, which holds second place. Its success may be partly attributed to its release on several formats. Legend is available for the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, Xbox and PC. A version for the PlayStation Portable is also in the works. It is the seventh title to be released in the Tomb Raider series, which originally launched in 19…

The internet has played an important role in the life decisions of 60 million Americans, research shows. Whether it be career advice, helping people through an illness or finding a new house, 45% of Americans turn to the web for help, a survey by US-based Pew Internet think-tank has found. It set out to find out whether the web and e-mail strengthen social ties. The answer seems to be yes, especially in times of crisis when people use it to mobilise their social networks. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4644666.stm :stunned:

Immigration bills to lose felony proviso Pelosi's office: Republicans 'feeling the heat' after protests WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Republican leaders of the House and Senate have agreed to drop efforts to make entering the United States illegally a felony, hoping to jump-start legislation to overhaul the U.S. immigration system. The provision has become a lightning rod for protesters in massive demonstrations against illegal immigration restrictions, like those Monday that drew hundreds of thousands of people in dozens of American cities large and small. The felony measure is part of an immigration reform bill the GOP-controlled House of Representatives pas…

  17. This clip is from a sketch show but it talks to real people and it's highlighting the mind-numbing ignorance of war proponents. They want America to invade every country under the sun but asking them to locate those countries on a map proves a little difficult, but they'll still give you their opinion on it. Check it out http://www.prisonplanet.com/video/cnnnn_chaser.wmv

Firstly, it is important to address the fact that this story originates with the British National Party, an organization strongly demonized by every sector of British society as a virulently racist mob strongly affiliated with…

I've recently come across this video on youtube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=dkuqoTseUPo It is Jon Stewart's opening montage, done on September 20th, and the first day the Daily Show returned after 9/11. Not because it's Jon, who's one of my heros as it is, but because it's a real American speaking out about the rawness and pain in his heart. I can relate to that, I certainly can feel it. In light of all these threads confronting the conspiracy behind this day, the cover ups, etc, I thought it would be appropriate to share this. It is too easy to forget. No matter what happ…
