  1. Started by saintcity,

I saw Ralph Fiennes on Jay Leno the other night and he was promoting a movie that looked very interesting. But...I didn't catch the name of it. I think the movie is based in Shanghai and he plays a man who is blind. I'm not sure of much else because I obviously wasn't catching anything that night. Hope someone knows it! :) :D

The Golden Globes have just been announced, and I just want to know if anybody else is especially disappointed with the movies of 2005, or is it just me? When thinking of my favorite movies so far this year, I can't even come up with five. My favorites were Last Days, The Constant Gardener, Syriana, and The Interpreter, but that isn't exactly a list to get excited over. I did miss some movies that I wanted to see this year, so could you please give a few of your suggestions? (And I didn't miss Jarhead.) I'm looking forward to Brokeback Mountain and King Kong, so maybe they'll make up a little. '99 was my favorite year for movies: Magnolia, American Beauty, Being John …

  7. WOW! I cannot believe how true to the book it was. So much more that LOTR was. Absolutely the best film I have seen all year. Aslan was fantastic, as was the witch and I cannot wait for the sequels. I think JK Rowling should take notice - she said this book was one of her inspirations - but it's too bad she couldn't write half as well or her films look half as good. This film was superb top to bottom, and I recommend it to everyone. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

  12. Richard Pryor, Ladies & Gents... Richard Pryor passes away Richard Pryor died Sat 11/12 - 05, of a heart attack. He was 65 years old and had been fighting multiple sclerosis for several years. He was one of the greats. If you like Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle or damn near any comedian today, you can thank Richard for being one of their biggest influences. Pryor once marveled "that I live in racist America and I'm uneducated, yet a lot of people love me and like what I do, and I can make a living from it. You can't do much better than that." HE WAS AND WILL STILL BE A TRULY LEGENG AND A FAC…

BERLIN (Reuters) - Pop star Robbie Williams has won an injunction in a German court against a woman who has been stalking him for months, the judge in the case said on Friday. The woman had repeatedly tried to warn Williams that he was in danger of being abducted by aliens, local and national German newspapers reported. "The musician felt badgered and threatened by her," said Ulrich Thole, chief judge of the court in Duesseldorf, where the woman lives and where Williams is due to appear in a television show on Saturday. The woman, who sees herself as a "life-counsellor", bombarded Williams and his entourage for months with faxes and emails, and recently attempted…

Who's going to come out of nowhere and make a name for themselves? I think the U.S. is going to definitely make a statement. But I suppose they're not that much of a surprise team, just underrated. My guess would be Switzerland. How the Swiss made it out of that qualifying group is beyond my fathoming...this team must be pretty darn good. Ireland's always been good, and Israel even looked tough this year, but the Swiss squeaked out of there and then took out Turkey...anyways, that's my pick, what are yours?
