July 9, 200421 yr I just came from a day-long information session about the university I'm going to in Spetember...I don't think I could possibly cram another morsel of info into my brain right now!! There's so much to know and remember and I'm soo confused... :/ But it was fun too! My team won the scavenger hunt that we had and we got a bag of ju-jubes. :smug:
July 9, 200421 yr Maybe you should have spent less time winning jujubes and more time absorbing information. :P My University orientation was soooo boring. And I didn't need to know most of the stuff that they were trying to tell me anyway. At least that's how I remember it.
July 9, 200421 yr Author Come on now, an information session is nothing without jujubes. :sneaky: Well I wouldn't call it boring, it was just.."whoa". And if I have to hear the word major one more time I'm definitely going to barf.
July 9, 200421 yr Author That could be a major problem. *barfs* Information session ? What´s that ? sorry for sneaking in... It was called "Early Advising and Course Registration", so basically we got to speak to advisors about the courses we wanted to take, meet some of our future classmates, register for courses, and we had to take 2 info sessions. I took "Choosing A Major" and "Ensuring Academic Success"...
July 9, 200421 yr i hate advisors. sorry, but they never helped me. :/ sounds like your having a good time though! :)
July 9, 200421 yr haha orientation is a waste of time...last year, I moved in on a saturday, went out and met people that night, drank too much, slept in someone's dorm room, threw up the next morning, and slept through orientation all day. The things you NEED to know, you will know. Trying to learn all the info in like 2 days is an overload, and you get sick of hearing it anyways. Once you need to learn about something, its easy to find out. Screw orientation. :sneaky: :dozey: :snore:
July 9, 200421 yr Author I thought it was really helpful actually :P Plus I'm all registered for my courses now!
July 9, 200421 yr well thats good, I was registered for my classes too. I'm talking about the orientation they give you a few days before classes actually started. the first month of college will be the best month of your life.
July 9, 200421 yr well, just go to the parties...thats where the fun is. Not the BBQ outside the student center or something, thats where the people who are afraid to have fun are. Go to the parties and live it up
July 9, 200421 yr Author Yeah the only events I'm planning to go to are pub night and the downtown "excursion", the rest sounds boring as hell and way too supervised.
July 9, 200421 yr yea good call...adult supervision is no fun. they make me mad  just have fun, go to parties, you'll have the time of your life. I did!!
July 10, 200421 yr Information session ? What´s that ? sorry for sneaking in... It was called "Early Advising and Course Registration", so basically we got to speak to advisors about the courses we wanted to take, meet some of our future classmates, register for courses, and we had to take 2 info sessions. I took "Choosing A Major" and "Ensuring Academic Success"... Okay. I got that. But you do take tests to get into college right ?
July 10, 200421 yr American universities sounds sooooooo different from the spanish ones... Funniers, that's what I mean :smug:
