I love Tom Felton. He's just brilliant at portraying Malfoy, but yeah, I wish we'd see a bit more of him.

I think he will have a much bigger and more intimate role in HBP. He will have to show his desire to be evil but his struggle against his own inner good. He seems like he is a good enough actor that he could pull off that role very well.

Throughout most of the books, Malfoy is just an annoying arrogant punk. It took until HPB for him to serve a central in the film. One of my favorite parts of the book was the vulnerability he showed, particularly in regard to moaning myrtle and the sectumsempra scene, and especially the conversation after he disarms dumbledore. I like to see characters with multiple dimensions, or some degree of conflict as opposed to these broad-stroked bad guys and good guys.

Exactly. It was so different yet so good to see Malfoy portray some kind of compassion/emotion, like in the scenes you mentioned. I'm glad JK gave him that vulnerability, or else he would be just another boring bad guy. Speaking of Malfoy's (somewhat) good side, the last two scenes with him in the Deathly Hallows were awesome... when Harry was rescuing him and Goyle (or was it Crabbe? I can't remember :disappointed:) from the fire, and when a Death Eater was about to curse Malfoy and Harry saved him. :P

^Agreed. It will be a tough moment for him on the tower before Snape comes. I can't wait to hear the reaction after Dumbledore is killed from people who haven't read the books.

Even for fans it'll probably have the same sort of impact 'passion of the christ' had on some christians...You know all along that it's going to happen, but you are still really distraught when it actually does.

D. Dobby died.

Yeah, that whole scene at the Malfoy manor was brilliant because everything happened all of the sudden after the slow times they were living in the tent disapparating place to place.

Over the course of one chapter they get captured, Hermione gets tortured, Wormtail kills himself, Dobby rescues them and is then killed himself!

According to Stephen, "Both Rowling and Meyer, they're speaking directly to young people... The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good."

 

Kind of mean to insult Meyer, but he is a very respected author (though I think he sucks:dozey:) so for him to say Rowling is "a terrific writer" is pretty cool.

But yeah, Silhouettes and Sunsets is just amazing, I even brought the guitar out and tried to sorting out some of the songs. Silhouettes is tricky because he's picking multiple strings, But "Time isn't healing" is simple and catchy. He has an amazing voice with sort of a rythmic, Jack Johnson flavor. I never thought I'd be musically inspired by Draco Malfoy. :P

Haha, you're so right. He's not only an incredible guitar player, but his voice is just amazing. And that British accent definitely adds to it, I'd say. :P I can't decide which I like better, but "Time isn't healing" is fantastic as well.

and you're right about his voice. I mean, anybody can play "time isn't healing", but those simple little songs put so much emphasis on not just the melody, but the way it's sung. It doesn't matter whether it's me or a classically trained singer, singing that song, you have to have a naturally charming voice to pull that song off. It's the sort of thing you're born with, that allows singers like Chris Martin (mainly in parachutes), Jack Johnson, Norah Jones etc. to play very simple arrangements, but somehow make it impossible for anyone else to perform it nearly as well.
