The ‘chav’ phenomenon has recently been the subject of numerous newspaper articles. The word has even entered the Oxford English Dictionary to describe "a young person, often without a high level of education, who follows a particular fashion."

 

The Sun’s own definition of a chav is a "teenager who loves designer labels, especially Burberry caps and Adidas tracksuits, tucks their trousers into their trainers and wears fake bling-bling jewellery."
