Could I ask the why of your preferences?

I forgot to mention that at first, but it was was I was looking for really, not just the names; I can say anything I want to! (or think it sounds good :dozey: )

I just went by Tsar Peter I, because there was a book on the library, and no one would read it, so I took it and it was his Life and works and it was truly amazing. This fascination for ships, which I share, for learning and experiment new things, for trying and learning from the very bottom and with the people who actiolly make the things (like he would go to a blacksmith to see how the swords were made, instead of just requesting them, or he would build ships instead of just buying them) and that taugh minded that he was; I found him great (with my brother we discuss the battles and his love for army things, which is what called his attention).

Tsarevna Sophia (a Tsarevna is the sister os the Tsar or the Tsarevich, which is the son of the Tsar, and that would make her daughter of the Tsar, in some cases - in this case she was the sister- ) I was just amazed by the way she impose herself. Like "Here I am, and you must obey me". She knew how to take advantage of the things, at least before she came to power, which was a great triumph, If you think that her destiny was to stay in one of the Kremlim's apartment forever and not been seen or touch by anyone, except the other Tsarevnas. Here I can see, in both cases, what education can do, and why it is so important. I was amazed aswell to see how tough she had been at first, but how weakly she surrender and how she really did not appeal people, because even though she ruled for 7 years, when she was overthrown, most people had gone to Peter's side (which I found quite feeble, to be honest).

and Winston Churchill..... well, I always hear the speech "If it wasn't for Churchill, I wouldn't be alive" but regardless of that, I found him a very 'straight' person. Wether I agreed with him or not, that's another thing, but the way he managed the II WW, how he stood firm and would stay with his position; I really admire that. I also liked Margareth Thatcher, in the sense that she was a very like 'tidy' person, strict I mean, but I didn't like how comfrontational she was, or is, and how she is always right and my idea it's in top of everyone's ideas. She was the closest you have had to a dictator, as far as I'm concerned, and even though I like strictiness and a hard command, I'm not too fond of totalitarian regimes (1973-1990).

Oh my God, how can you be that stupid :dozey: Bet you obviously don't know anything about Lennin ideology and purposes of russian revolution... However, before complaining about ideology or actions u don't even understand, should first look what ur country has done to the rest of the world and can quote too many examples... Irak, Iran , Vietnam, Japan, whole Latin America... agh

so me not knowing about lenin ideology justifies the killing of 50 million people? and yeah about actions i don't understand: why would stalin want to kill 10,000 of his top military commanders? why would he kill the smartest politicians, businessman, mathmaticans, teachers, professors, etc? because he's weak and he didn't want anyone to joust him out of his beloved throne. one time he went to a town and gave a 2 hour speech and everyone got up and clapped when he was finished, the clapping went on for an hour because no one wanted to stop clapping for fear of what his henchmen would do to him/her. needless to say a butcher in the front row sat down and soldiers immediately killed him. and don't even compared communist russia to america, we were the ones trying to stop the spread of communism. if we didn't pussyfoot around in vietnam we would've won. you'll never understand iraq, 3,000 of your country men weren't killed in 2 hours. and what about japan? we helped rebuild japan after WW2 and look where they are now, (unlike what russia did to eastern europe - in shambles for all those decades).

Ok, first at all try to don't invent fake stories or numbers to support ur ideas, yeah I know Stalin was completely mad, but ur getting completely out of context because the main part of this discussion was Lenin and the original purposes of Russian revolution... yes those who were corrupted by Stalin and bet you don't know anything about 'em

2. Are you really attributing Japan's development to ur country? mwahahahaha... pure fake.

3. About Irak, well how could you expect that people to act when ur country is killing their children, women and violating their principles?? Those soilders wouldn't be dying if ur country would care about rest of the world opinon and stop invading Irak.

Btw, anyone here knows why The USA is still atacking Irak? A better question what is the excuse this time for doing it? first was the nuclear weapons, then the intent of liberate iraqui people... and now?

I have seen Dirty Politics's function on Younger Generation!!!

That's just terrible and another human tragedy is on the way!!!

broke: you are too bias to Communism and tell me what's the definition of communism/socialism...is that your textbook/teacher telling you it is communism who killed many people?! The national killing in russia(prob. in stalin era, not lenin)/some latin american countries/even in china(i admit) might be due to Monarch OR partially War-Peace time transimission failure, but Communism/Socialism does not lead to it at all! You can ask european people, how much social welfare(i.e. Germany) were obtained by working classes' struggle/blood/sacrifice in 18-19th socialism revolutions by communist parties. And, it was once all over the whole world too.

So you must say Korea War and Vietnam War (both related to China/US/some western countries) are Right for trying to kill China in the cradle? I can tell you although we need to learn many things for economics development/ democracy politics, but chinese communist party saved 4000 millions of people's lives from the brutal war, from foreigners' invasion/ruins at that time. We do have bunches of problems now, but most of people have had a better life. Most important thing, even one day China becomes a developing country, he will not ruin the other people, the remaining of the world...It is due to his tradition/philosophy baby.

I can also tell you Don't be naive about why US helped Japan rebuilding after world war II, did it feel guilty about Atomic Bombing in Japan? Or for Pearl Island's revenge?(obviously not)...mainly because Japan is near to China and could be a Partner of US in Asia. Japan can be a balanced power for a different social typed country, China. That's just for War Strategy - for US's long long run interest.

Many people are not aware that politics tries to help its own nation's or classes' interest, and they did dare Cheat on People with wrong historical facts(till today, some Japanese textbook still doesn't admit Japanese army killed 300, 000 people in Nanjing (China) during WWII!)...

Frankly and fairly, I can see both sides have biases on each other -- so called socialism/captalism (they have been outdated actually, but the effect is still deep). But it is ok, if young generation can build friendship/trust based on understanding, open minded and most of important, Love The People in the world, not just your nation, your "class", your skin color - Don't get fooled again by Dirty part of the Politics!!!!

darling, i'm cracking up over here. you think i'm inventing fake stories and #s? hahah ok then. believe what you want in your little looney world.

3. About Irak, well how could you expect that people to act when ur country is killing their children, women and violating their principles?? Those soilders wouldn't be dying if ur country would care about rest of the world opinon and stop invading Irak.

i know how much you don't want to believe terrorism is going on and your naive hungarian news programs are telling you the US is the real terrorist but maybe if you got 2 sides to the story you'd realize you are off your ass. you honestly think the US bombs are killing more people than Saddam's regime is? if you do, then there's really nothing i can say to make you realize how retarded you are. do you think the Jews all over Europe in the 30's and 40's were saying: "i hope those american bombers don't kill us, Hitler is a tough guy but i feel safe under his government." ??? US forces found slaughter houses in fallujah. do you even understand what that is? slaughtering is what fucking butchers do! the ball-less terrorists killed a friggin aid worker (a woman i might add), for what reason? she was of european decent. tell me how fucked up that is. they would dangle them by their feet and beat literally beat the stuffing out of them until they were unconcious. but you're right, Iraq is better off without American forces....

2. Are you really attributing Japan's development to ur country? mwahahahaha... pure fake.

did i say that? you're the one putting words in my mouth. look where japan and germany are today after world war 2. and then look at what happened when Russia "liberated" eastern europe from nazism... japan and germany are thriving.. and what about eastern europe? how are they doing compared to japan? russia didn't even have to stay in those countries, nazism was dead, they said they stayed to "protect them from future nazi attacks." hahah! protect them ! so retarded.

yes those who were corrupted by Stalin and bet you don't know anything about 'em

btw that made no sense.

Someone told me something the other day, which I can't quote at the moment but it's something like this "The problem with the so called 'Democracy' that Americans want to instore in the world (we were talking about Irak) is that they believe it works just the way it does in the U.S.A; they do not take into a count the country's 'personality' and the culture where they want to instore it" and that's true because according to your point of view the countries in the ex Soviet Union are bad, they are not developed, they are actiolly is serious monetary problems, so they are bad, as you put it, and the countries that the U.S.A helped (regarless of that) are good, because they are economicaly developed; let's me tell you that in Japan people is not very happy, even though they are developed, and in Germany.... I haven't heard very good things either; so, what's really good for you? Before you start critisising and telling everyone that they are wrong, leave us clear what you are talkign about. You might tell me that wasn't your point and that I understood wrongly, but when that happens, you have to think "Did I put that in a clear way?".

ah, and talking about democracy (which was the point at the beginning) I assure you, I could bet you on this, that Irakies will bnot be better with your democracy, that there won't be any democracy and that to get that (democracy) you first have to have a strong leader, a s trong goverment and strong people, not like are seeying now. And after that, you need educated people.

Get me that, and we might talk about what could happen there.

Naah, it's completely different... history always is showing us how the United States are acting according their interests and not as the humanity's savior ur talking about as ReedBalloon said, and think this is not the exception... u say ur country is trying to save that Iraqui people but wasn't first the excuse of the nuclear weapons?? now that they didn't find them they were really trying to librate them :sneaky: astute ¿isn't it?

Beside the fact of some evidence and documents about Washington government supporting Sadam Hussein to invade Iran and others maneuvers some time ago.

the ball-less terrorists killed a friggin aid worker (a woman i might add), for what reason? she was of european decent. tell me how fucked up that is.

Well, think about how many Iraquis are killing ur blessed american terrorists forces and just because it's European and her death had all that propaganda now the real terrorists are in Irak

did i say that? you're the one putting words in my mouth.

No I'm not, u did really say that

and what about japan? we helped rebuild japan after WW2 and look where they are now

it's not communism that's the problem, its the people who say their communists to appeal to their people but are about as far right of the political spectrum as can be and are really facist dictators

i mean, we're told china is communist, they say socialsts, but have u ever seen a country that is more capitalistic than china?

the principles of communism are amazing, it just never works in reality because those in power are corrupt
