Any hardcore Soundgarden fans here?.......besides Vertigo Caz and I? haha.

Anybody here wish that Chris Cornell will just get back together with Soundgarden for a tour? If The Verve could get back together, not only tour, but also put out a new album. If the murderuous rage between Richard Ashcroft and Nick McCabe could be quenched, then why can't Chris get back in touch with his old band????? haha

Maybe I'm asking a lot here, but whatever. I saw Chris Cornell recently, and I noticed that almost half his setlist was composed of Soundgarden classics, and man oh man, Rusty Cage and Jesus Christ Pose hit like a thunderstorm when played live...

ANyways, let the Soundgarden love out!

the record store/cafe a few blocks away from my house has a "soundgarden burger". it's delicious. easily one of this town's top two veggie burgers.

and that's all i have to say about that.

A SOUNDGARDEN BURGER?!??! haha, thats frickin hilarious! What are the ingredients I wonder?

soundgarden love..............so does that have anything to do with loud love? :P.........oh yeah I went there, I am that lame haha

I do!!! (as long as Australia is included on the tour) ;) At least that way I could see a decent set, Chris Cornell coming to Australia as Linkin Parks support act upsets me haha.

Nice to hear about Chris playing the old Soungarden classics on his tour though, especially Jesus Christ Pose! However, if Soundgarden get back together, Pearl Jam loses Matt Cameron as their drummer which would be a bit sad, oh well old loyalties I guess haha

...and in honour of the new soundgarden thread, I'll post quite possibly my favourite Soundgarden video ever, it's hilarious haha

Damn right about the loud love there! And that video is fuckin hilarious!

Well, here is my plan, Matt Cameron could still be together with Soundgarden and be in Pearl Jam at the same time. They can tour together! Soundgarden would play two hours, and then Pearl Jam would play another two.

Yea, when I saw Chris Cornell, I noticed that though the Adioslave and solo material came across well, it was the old Soundgarden songs that everyone was going nuts about.

yeah Matt is a fucking awesome drummer, but we dont want him killing himself from exhaustion!! haha...I have heard one time Chris Cornell saying he wouldn't mind opening for Pearl Jam one day, interesting thought. Speaking of the show you saw, what songs did he sing from Euphoria Morning?

Eh, Chris played Can't Change Me solo and acoustic yo, and then oddly he decided to play Wave Goodbye with the band. Many of the people there were present only for stuff like Audioslave, and some oddly enough were there for the new stuff. *shrugs* But I appreciated Wave Goodbye.

However, it was after Chris opened with Let Me Drown that I said "GET BACK TOGETHER WITH SOUNDGARDEN!!!!!" I was also hoping that Chris would play Pretty Noose, but despite my trying to yell it out after every song, it just didn't happen. *tears*. haha

aww wave goodbye is a good one, I dont think he's been playing that one too often?

so you didnt get him to re-join Soundgarden OR play Pretty Noose?....you failed!!! hahaha see maybe you pissed him off, and he crossed Pretty Noose off the setlist out of spite......cos who knows, he may have played it otherwise haha

YOU TAKE THAT BACK! haha. Yes, Wave Goodbye was a good one. The whole concert was pretty fucking awesome actually, the venue Massey Hall is perfect. The sound is awesome there.

Yo, I bought Down on the Upside, and to tell you the truth, that album is really fuckin under-appreciated! I listened to it again last night when I was writing my essay outline, and it hit me. I was just like "dude......thats some good shit!" haha. Do you have that album dear?

I'm sorry, I know you tried your best! haha at least you got Rusty Cage! that makes up for it for sure. And yes I do own that album, although lately I've been listening to Badmotorfinger a hell of a lot, I find it useful in blocking out the lecturers voice at uni haha

Hmm noticed KIM THAYIL's name hasnt been mentioned yet, thought I would just them so if anyone ever feels the need to search him on this forum, they will be directed here :)

Oh yes, Kim Thayil, the crypt-creeper himself.

I was researching this on Wikipedia, and apparently the reason Soundgarden broke up was because Kim Thayil wanted to keep things heavy like on Louder Than Love and Badmotorfinger, while Chris Cornell wanted to go lighter and try new things, like on Superunknown and Down onn the Upside.

I know Down on the Upside by no means measures up to its predecessors at all, but its not like any of the songs fuckin suck either. Its an enjoyable cd. In my opinion its the sound of the band just being laidback and relaxing.

Yo, did you know that for Slaves & Bulldozers, when Kim is doing his solo, he isn't playing the guitar strings? HE'S BLOWING ON THEM! hahahah

I didnt know that! nice work on the research Jacob haha,...so what when he plays Slaves & Bulldozers live, he has to blow on the strings?! haha I knew he was cool, this proves it

at the moment, listening to the Like Suicide solo...........niiiice haha, got any fav Thayil solo's Jacob? top 5 maybe? hahah

hm.......top 5 Thayil solos? I dunno. Thayil is more of a riff person the way i see it. Sure, Thayil does awesome solos, but they never take center stage. Its never like fucking Tom Morello where he has to hog all the fuckin attention by making weird noises. Thayil is more like "Okay guys, I'll do something cool, but I ain't gonna drown out the rest of the band!"

Top 5 Thayil riffs would have to be........My Wave, the chorus to Outshined, Loud Love, Hands All Over, and of course, Pretty Noose!

what about you my dear wfie?

haha is it so bad Morello likes to show off his skills? ;) how was Chris Cornell's band for the solo tour?

They were good showmen, good guys. You could tell they were a backing band, but at the same time they really had a stage presence too. Like, they came out and did an intro before bursting into Let Me Drown. And the intro really managed to wind up the audience. As well one of his band members is from Edmonton, which he gladly pointed out to us.haha.

Oh, and the lead guitarist did things that we thought Morello only could do. haha

Soundgarden song of the day is......Switch Opens! WOO

well according to Rolling Stone Magazine, Tom Morello is number 24 I think on the list of top 100 guitarists of all time,.....Kim was 100.

haha that list is total bullshit, just like all RS reviews haha

What? How can Morello be that high on the list? All he does is fiddle with his distortion peddles and make weird sounds. Take away his peddles and he is just another guitarist. Kim on the other hand is the crypt-creeper of all guitarists!

Soundgarden = Meh.

Never really given them a listen though as it ain't my scene.

I've heard Black Hole Sun and it's great but I don't have any of their albums yet. They obviously rock coz Chris Cornell is in the band and he's awesome in Audioslave ......but he can't seem to keep a band together

buy Superunknown. now. haha

Audioslave...........they're not good. Chris Cornell is awesome, but his best days were with Soundgarden.
