Will X&Y be copy-protected?

Featured Replies

The single for 'Speed Of Sound' is. I usually copy all cds i get for backup and for iPod. If so, is it easy to get around?

Well seeing that it says 'copy-protected' on just the Speed Of Sound single might give you a clue..

I'd like to think that it won't be, but something is telling me it will be.

Just how tight is the security on this album?

Copy-control is gay, it's like punishing the people for buying cds, by not letting them do what they want with them. Copy-contol cds won't play on some computers and car cd players, which is mainly where I listen to cds. This is the record companies' attempt to stop people from being able to make copies of the album. A copy controlled cd basically has a error on it that won't let you do certain things with it.

About getting around this, I really don't know. I remember someone on another board had figured out a way around it, but I don't remember what it was. It's just irritatin that's all.

copy control doesnt neccesarily mean you cant import into iTunes.... you just migh not be able to burn it when you do.

hahaha I ahve the special program and CD writer/burner that reads copy-protected CD's. well actually my dad does on his comp but if this CD is copy-protected I hope my walkman will read it if i ever use it again

Well, I have copied many so called ''Copy Protected'' to my PC. I did'nt do anything special, just ripped and everything went fine. I must be lucky with my PC optical drives and other settings. I think I got something a while ago to rid my CD and DVD drives of the region control, so infact that might have helped.

Dammit! I normally rip all the music on to my computer so I don't have to pop the cd in every time... that's really annoying they copy-protected it.

Do they actually believe if they do this it will cut down on the mp3's? it only takes one person to make it.. then manipulate it to millions on p2p.. how silly to do that..

 Good point

That 'copy controlled' logo would be a disgrace to the cover design. Imagine a beautiful person with like a huuuge spot on her/his nose or something. That's what it would seem like. I personally don't care whether it will or will not be copy-controlled, I'm for sure buying it any way, and that's just that stupid record company's business, but I couldn't live with a stupid, pointless logo spoiling a great cover.
