When i was 10 I got a paper route, I had to collect money at the end of each month, and all the white trash wie beating husbands would cscream at me and once a man knocked over my collection can and slammed the door in my face. I was supposed to be making 200$ a month but my last month i got paid 25$ because the woman who hired me was a fucking bitch and told me I stole the collection money. The day after I quit I got close to 20 different phone calls from angry newspaper readers who didn't get their paper...apparently my boss gave out my phone number, so I gave them all her mobile number, office number and home phone number.

Then iu had several babysitting jobs until I was 15. My first Real paycheck earning job was at Subway where I made sandwiches and worked 12 hour das with no breaks, was called a racist (we ran out of jalpenos and the middle eastern gangs got made because spicy foods were their culture...I told them Jelapenos were mexican and they flippedout)basically my boss was an ass and made me open and close the store, and work on my own even though i was only 15 and thats extremly illegal

Sounds awful! Your poor thing! Hasn't slavery been outlawed in Edmonton, then? :P

i was 19 at the time and worked in a jewelry shop with a boss who was a former UPS emplyee and obsessed with getting things done on time and every time i would get there 1 minute late i'd have a long speech, ahhhhh , anyways the pay was good but hard work not to mention having to deal with rich woman who thought that their shit didnt stink , i cant stand those ppl  :bomb: :freak:

True, true!! Like J-LOW, you mean?? And Mariah Scarey??

My first was at Specs music. Its a crappy music/dvd store, but its closing soon cause its close to best buy/circuit city/mall. It was fun though.

I have only ever had a week's work experince with my old School.... God it was awful... anyone British person would understand that "T J Huges" is not the best place to end up :P

Ri cleaned knives? Haha!

I was a sales assistant at a stationary shop, but the boss ran away :disappointed:

haha, i make myself laugh. Where did my energy go? :(

Well my first job, first first first, for collecting a pay check, was cleaning knives. I was 14, and worked with my friend, who still worked there up until just the other day, as hes getting replaced by a machine! ahahaha, oh the novelty of it. 4 years, and a machine finally comes along... hahahahahahaha

I feel sorry for your friend, but the story is funny

My first job, was working part time in a computer shop

Wish it had of been working in a Jellybean factory, I would have loved that :D Wonders if Charlie got free jellybeans from her friend ;)

If you're going to have a job, a music festival is the best one to start with. ;)

^^yeah i think that too, i loved it there. it was much work but really funny :D

In the summer holidays from school I went down to London to work for my uncle in a hotel (the Hotel Ibis in Earl's Court) fitting air conditioning units. My cousin and I worked there for a couple of weeks. We were doing the same work as everyone else, like climbing into ceilings and putting the units up. It was fun cause we used to be able to run to McDonalds for lunch :P And when the Ashes was on we put the hotel TVs on in the rooms while we were working.

So yeah, if you're ever in Earl's Court and need a business hotel to stay in for one or two nights, DON'T go to the Hotel Ibis (it's just down the road from the 2 Earl's Court arenas. Yeah, I thought there was just one :S I was shocked when I walked out of the tube station and say "Earl's Court 2" )

But if you do end up in that hotel. Check the air conditioning works (the control thing is on the side of the wardrobes, turn it to the 3 setting) and if it doesn't work - DON'T COMPLAIN TO THE STAFF. Cause then I'll have to go back :P

Oh, and there's a speaker in the bathroom ceiling that links up to the TV, so when you're in the shower you can listen to whatever is on TV. :D It's cool. But the beds are like sleeping on the floor.

This concludes the review of the Hotel Ibis hotel in Earl's Court.

(note: the hotel ibis in Grenwich isn't much better - I worked there for 3 days aswell)

the first work i ever did for money was folding christmas cards, putting them in envelopes, sealing and addressing them, and putting stamps on them. i probably started doing that when i was 12 and i've been doing it every year since, for my mom's office. and like two years ago, i started filling in for the cleaning lady whenever she's gone on vacation.

recently i've started scanning files into the computer, and i actually got put on the payroll last week, so i count this as my first job. i work for accountants. i saw a coffee cup in the kitchen there that says "beware of accountants... they multiply" and i just shook my head.

don't work for or become accountants, guys. :snore:

I worked at a supermarket called Loblaws. I was a cashier.
