How much of Live8 did you watch?

Featured Replies

Obviously its impossible to have seen every act today, unless you somehow taped all 9 long concerts and watched each one :stunned:

But how much of your day did you spend watching it?

I didnt watch the first hour-ish and then watched it non-stop as much as I could (By switching through the different BBC interactive channels as well as AOL). I became live8 freak, for like what, 8, 10 hours? Time is irrelevant! Very entertaining day of music.

I'd say about 90%.

I know, but Canada and Berlin are still going (And it appears Canada will be for another while).

I cant wait for Neil Young!

I watched pretty much all I could so about 90%.

I watched from Pink Floid to the end..wish i have seen more... , anyway i hope they make a DVD!

I had it on all the time except for when I turned over to watch some of the Wimbledon final.

yeah i think a DVD would be a good idea .. i watched about 50% because i worked and went out but Coldplay, Keane, Dido and Travis were especially excellent in the UK wish i could have seen acts in other countries .. Muse would have been great to see but still :D

I wonder how the hell they could make a DVD from this that is actually purchaseable...

But they wont, I highly doubt it. Afterall, todays theme WASNT about raising money (Which is confused with the LiveAid of 20 years ago "Give us all your fucking money!" etc) it was just about combining everything in Music to actually make a mark on world politics, the support and awareness of many people will probably come from this, will it effect G8? I dont know, I hate to say it, but Im doubtful.

To people who have watched Live8 and acknowledged it today, it has been the HUGEST event ever. To those, like my brother, who havent cared, it was just another festivilly thing

Politicians could have easily ignored this. Protests are generally, completely useless.

But lets hope.

George W. Bush says: "I watched all of it - in other words 90 per cent"!! :P

Seriously? He said that?

but that amount of people watching and wanting to make poverty history must have made the leaders sit up and notice that getting rid of poverty and making trade fair etc. is very important to the world and should be top of the list so i think it must have made the leaders realise that many people want to make poverty a thing of the past

Well you could certainly believe it, couldn't you?? :P

I think I just created a "Bushism"!!

True, but politicians have always managed to dismiss things like this, even to the extreme of Live8 (The biggest event ever) as "pop culture fodder". It doesnt get taken seriously.

i watched all of the uk footage and mini screens in sky interactive and listened to the radio while watching.

I just saw Neil Young in Canada's, absolutely amazing.

I watched most of the deplorable MTV/VH1 coverage. When I wasn't watching that, I was on AOL getting the awesome live feeds, so I'd say between 90% and 100%. I made today a day devoted entirely to music.

*sigh* I know it's pathetic but I watched every second of the Vh1/MTV coverage even though it sucked. I didn't move off the couch for eight hours.

I was in attendance for most of the Philly acts, and saw highlights of the rest on TV when I got home... so... I don't know what percentage that would come out to.

where's the "i was there so i didn't watch it on tv" poll? :P

other then that....it was 100% not at the tv though :P

I was waiting for Scissor Sisters to come on, but it was already 2 a.m. (GMT+8) so I decided to catch whatever I couldn't catch this afternoon... but other than that, I remember Annie Lennox was doing "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)"

I feel ashamed :embarrased:

Only watched U2 and then Coldplay  and after that I haven't paid very much attention to it anymore..

So nobody masturbated?

Anyway, I watched pretty much everything excpet for Audioslave. Which I am not very pleased about....
