So I complained to McDonald's...

Featured Replies

Yeah, the other day I grabbed a Chicken McNugget meal with fries and chocolate 'shake...one problem. It tasted like crap.

Now, before we get started I am not open to people coming in saying...

"WELL IT'S McDONALD'S!! WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?! BUH-ZIIING!!!"

*high-fives jock buddies*

...so none of that. :shifty:

Anyway, now to quote my email [which I've edited a fair bit just to get to the point...]

Originally written by Gareth Brown in his letter to McDonald's...

"I purchased a Large Chicken McNugget meal with a chocolate milkshake. I am sorry, but I must tell you I was rather appalled with the entire meal I was presented with...

For a start, the chicken nuggets now taste funny...I know it’s 100% breast meat, but there's something wrong with the nuggets!

Secondly, on top of my chicken nuggets tasting odd the fries were lousy. The young lady serving me was obviously using up the last of the fries in the pan, which is quite understandable, those fries obviously have to go somewhere or it would be a waste. However, my fries were lacking salt, were soggy and somehow tough and chewy to make things worse!

One final problem I was the 'Shake! It's just a thick blob of ice cream with very little milk and the problem I have with the chocolate milkshake is the fact that it doesn't taste like chocolate. At all. It tasted like banana.

This really was the final straw, no pun intended, and I was left feeling like I had wasted my money on the meal...*insert the whole 'I feel disappointed and let down paragraph here...*

Thanks!

Gareth Brown..."

Probably never going to eat there again, so that's taken care of anyone planning to post "If you don't like it, don't eat it" :smug:

Now...the reason I post this is because I'd like to know...

-Has anyone in the UK actually bothered complaining to McDonald's? Since, let's face it, there doesn't seem to be much point...

-Is it worth the hassle?

-What is the chance I'll get one of those compensationary vouchers or my money back so I can buy a proper meal?

Discuss.

I ate McD's not to long ago... well about 2 weeks ago.. ate some nuggets and bit into something rubbery and cartiledge-y  I haven't eaten there again.....

i haven't eaten mcdonalds since i saw super size me

that was literally months ago, i'm so proud of myself!

I need to see this movie.. maybe it will keep me away from fast food all together...

Hmmm I hardly eat there anymore for that because of Super Size Me (Like Charlie)

It didn't put me off forever, But I can't eat any kind of chicken nugget though now

But yeah, So much for a new "great tasting menu" then

If I would complain it would be about they are so slow here. If you order 4 hamburgers (we're a family, I'm not hungry :P ) then their whole system brakes down, the cashier starts to stutter and says "T-the hamburgers will take a few minutes, is it okwith a cheeseburger?"

I don't like McDonalds really, but it's kind of comical to listen to my family complain about this.

i am glad someone else was repulsed enough to stop eating it

Whenever I used to eat that shit i could just feel my body saying "nooooooo!!!!!"

I am exactly in the same situation, I think it has been almost a year now.

I haven't eaten any fast food in years, to be honest.

Oh wait, Taco Bell is fast food. Never mind.

Anyway, I was probably in high school the last time I ate at a McDonalds. It was bad then, and apparently it still is.

McDonalds to me represents everything that's wrong with capitalism. They have no respect for their customers, on a customer service level and in what they're serving people, because they know that for every person who gets fed up with the consistantly low quality of service and appalling content of the food itself, another person will say, "Hey, it's a vaguely chicken-like sandwich for cheap!" And for every location that gets shut down, three more seem to open. So there's no incentive to actually change anything, other than pretending to offer "healthy" meals (have a salad with your fatburger instead of fries!).

And their advertising campaigns are beyond annoying. I've never seen anybody try so hard to channel "urban" culture (or their focus-grouped version of it: usually black people or latinos with sass) and fail so miserably. Everything about that company, from top to bottom, is a joke. And yet they still make money every year (even if it's been less money recently), and they probably still will long after we all die.

I went to McDonalds at the Trafford Centre the other day and had two Double Cheeseburgers... for BREAKFAST

Ok I was waiting for my 1 hour Coldplay photos from Boots and I was hungry :dozey:

ahhh that made me laugh.

but yeah....wow i haven't eaten at mcdonalds in a while :o

my sister works at mcdonalds though. she gets everything half price, and she eats it at least a few times a week if not almost every day. i'm telling her that she's slowly killing herself :dozey: she was ususally stick thin, now she has a little belly :P  when my brother called her fat one day from eating all that mcdonalds (semi-jokingly) she spazzed on him...haha it was so funny.

i hope one day she watched supersize me...

Hmm...I DONT GET FAT!! So I always eat at McDicks...my bro calls it that!! Actually I am eating breakfast there tomorrow!! BUT....If I ever find a bone or some shit like that I just take it back and they give me fresh stuff!! Which I guess is good...I hate it when the spicy chicken stuff has like black on it!! It makes me want to barf!! But other than that I LOVE MCDICKS!!!!! :D And I will always eat there!! *Wants french-fries now* Anyway....TOODLES!!!

it's unhealthy...

then again, all fast food is.

mcdonalds puts sugar in their salads y'know  . it's true. my sister told me.
