Any great reccomendations?

Featured Replies

Anyone really inspired by any new artists at the moment? Got any recomendations for someone into similar music? (Who else reckons I'm gonna get flurry of myspace links?!). Been listening to the Arcade Fire album that Chris said he liked on Jools Holland the other week and it's amazing...otherwise I think a band called Guillemots are worth checking out as they are a bit like an experimental Coldplay, and really into Richard Hawley, who I saw supporting the boys once....can sound quite 50s but beautiful songs and just something really captivating about his voice (check richardhawley.co.uk if you don't believe me!).

So some on, those are my suggestions...what else should I check out?

If you like singer/songwriters, I'd seriously recommend a guy called Declan O Rourke. He's Irish and all of his songs are amazing

check your parents and older brother and sisters album collection, you'll re-discover some bands, may be. :)

Try anything by Aqualung! Here in the US, we have the release Strange and Beautiful. Really amazing...the best way I can describe his music is like a one-man version of Coldplay with some Thom Yorke thrown in. Basically, if you like Coldplay, you're pretty much guaranteed to like Aqualung. You can get some songs at http://www.aqualung.net.

Also, if you're a fan of the Flaming Lips, I encourage you to check out the CD Songs for Dustmites by Steve Burns. Now when you find out who he actually is, I think you'll have a good laugh. But once you listen to the CD, you won't believe your ears. Trust me, it's VERY good. And you can listen to Mighty Little Man by Steve at: http://rapidshare.de/files/4410462/mightylittleman.mp3.html

Enjoy!
