unfortunately I've never been there!

use to be every july in my city (Cartagena) and is about a country every time, this year was about Turkey, in 2004 was about Argentina.... and you can listen bands from those countries mainly and also visit expos, watch films about those countries.

 

but also come bands from other places like this year came Jimmy Cliff (reggae singer) and in 2004 came Caetano Velhoso or Gilberto Gil (from Brazil).

This past weekend I attended the brilliant Lowlands festival in the Netherlands. Sixth time for me, and had a great time.

There is every first weekend of august a big heavy-metal open-air-festival near Hamburg called "Waken Open Air". Never been there, it's not really my kind of music, but some friends of mine have had there very much fun :-)

 

Rock am Ring is a festival I'd rather like to visit, but it's way to far away for me.

Yeah wacken!Some friends of mine are always making fun f it.Wasn't it in the Lord of the rings joking film?I've never seen it but they are always quoting it:"Wacken?" "Wacken is vorbei du Spasti!"

actually every year in İstanbul there is a METAL fest called"Rock the Nations"

well I have been there once it was very very good.Really good bands :smug:

I'm from Rhode Island, but every early August there's the Newport Folk Festival (there's a jazz festival as well, but doesn't get as much attention). It's a pretty big part of history, with Bob Dylan playing here back in the 60s, along with Joan Baez, etc etc. I've never been. Was going to go this year but got to see Coldplay instead. :lol:

last year joan Baez was in İstanbul, she had a concert in the İstanbul Jazz Festival:) my friend worked there and met her :D

this year Tori Amos was in İstanbul Jazz festival:) :D :D :blush:

In Hungary we have several festivals, but most of them are shit....our biggest is called Sziget (=Island) festival. So far we had bands like Muse, Placebo, Ash, The Cure etc and this year we had some great bands like Franz Ferdinand, The Hives, Mando Diao and um, Juliette and the Licks, Good Charlotte, Korn, Natalie Imbruglia and that kind of stuff...unfortunately I haven't been there cause I was on vacation..

I wanted to go to the Falls Festival at Lorne, Melbourne but all sold out

camp out 2 days over new years.
