Basically its just reversing the equation.

third----you multiply c(a+12)

a(d) = a© + 12c

 

fourth-----you minus a© from both sides

fifth-----you take out a common factor of a from " a(d) - a©"

a(d-c) = 12c

 

sixth-----divide both sides by (d-c)

 

a = 12c/(d-c)
