Definitely try Debs. My friend had a terrible situation happen to her and a friend of hers had Coldplay send her a card! Prettiest card I've seen in my life. :)

She does sometimes I guess...my friend got a card, Chris wrote a message and drew some pics and all of them autographed it.

I don't remember word for word.. but paraphrased they wished for things to get better and that they'll be thinking of her. and Chris drew some little ducks under their signatures. and He also drew a bigger pic of something else (I forgot! Will have to see it again) on the front of the card.
