LOL I was just listening to it and about to come here and tell everyone to go listen to it.

I have learned Glen's part on guitar, it's not that challenging. If you need any help figuring it out (especially the chorus is tricky) let me know I'd be glad to help. I still have not gotten down the lead intro part yet, I have the notes I just can't play them fast enough with the rhythm, too much sliding. :P

i love that song too

Haha! It's a really great song, I love it when they play it live with Mar and she plays the piano. Beautiful.

I know the chords and stuff, I just have to really work on it, I just have to learn how to follow the rythm as well :P.

What other songs do you know how to play? Piano and guitar.

sorta random, but related

Yeah I actually much prefer The Frames version. I just don't think they capture the song's intensity and energy as Swell Season, it needs the roaring distorted guitar as a launcher in the chours, otherwise I always feel let down.

As far as Glen/Frames/SS songs I currently know:

Say It To Me Now

Fitz

Red Chord

Seven Day Mile

Pavement Tune

Lay Me Down

What Happens..Heart Just Stops

Disappointed

Falling Slowly

Mind's Made Up

Sad Songs

If You Want Me

Broken Hearted Hoover...

Lies

Leave

All The Way Down

Once

Feeling The Pull

and I'm working on:

In These Arms

Headlong

Santa Maria

God Bless Mom

True

All on guitar, maybe bits and pieces on piano...

Yeah any help on any of the above listed just ask!

That kids a fuckin magician.

Awesome :D!! Sooo many songs!!

I only know Falling Slowly, well almost.. and I'm working on Fantasy Man and Mind's Made Up, and The Hill on piano!

Do you have the chords to Feeling the Pull :D?

That kid is awwweeeesome!!

^ Ah, thanks I use that site alot, but I was not sure if they are the sane chords as Glen uses.

Btw, The Verb is one of the best songs I've heard.

The Verb is awesome.

Yeah if you ever are unsure of any tabs you come across, send me the link and I'll check if they're accurate enough.

Aw, thanks mate :D!

Almost got Feeling The Pull down now :D! It's alot of fun to play!

Isn't it? It's so easy once you get the fingering of the Fadd9 down and get the speed built up.

Just a tip: If you want it to sound more authentic, when you play the C and C/B in the verse, use your finger to mute the low E string and pluck it muted with the chord. That will give it a little tap as you strum, which is how Glen does it.

Oh, thanks for the tip :D! I've seen him doing it, so I bet is sounds alot better!

Think I'm going to have a problem with the fingering though, once I get the strumming 100% I'll work it out! I started on like 2 hours ago or so :P.

Yeah, and use your thumb if you want, if it makes it easier.

It's a great song tho innit? :D

Yeah, I'll figure something out !

It is :D! I love it! Listening to the whole album now, I cant freaking stop :P.

so jealous of all of you who can play! I've got to try... my husband has his old acoustic lying around somewhere! :)

and a random Swell Season bit for the day... I was just re-watching their Austin City Limits performance (safely saved on my dvr from February). I hadn't watched it since I recorded it, and I was very surprised to hear them play Low Rising! :)

Yeah I have an NPR performance where they did a (rather rough sounding) Fantasy Man. A surprise now.

i saw that npr performance on youtube... it was great! when your minds' made up was great. one of these days glen is going to pop a blood vessel from trying to sing so strong...:D

I honestly can't think of a singer that is so passionate when playing music... he puts literally all of his heart and soul into it. He honestly should be the reason why people want to be a musician... just for the feeling and sheer enjoyment.

Actually I was referring to a full audio concert from a few years ago I downloaded where they did Fantasy Man possibly for the first time. But yeah, the Tiny Desk thing was great too.

I completely agree with that last bit too.

Do you have that NPR file now?

I had no idea that the song was that old!

Jen, you should really try, it's alot of fun!

And I agree with you guys, everytime Glen plays he's 120% committed to what he is doing! It's amazing to watch.

^ Oh, I hope the time will pass!!

Which reminds me, I'm most likely going to see them in February :D ! They arent coming to Norway, but I think I'm going to take a day off of school and head over to Sweden to see them! Is it worth it?

I believe so!
