The Frames / The Swell Season / Once

Yeah, same here! That's the problem with good music, you can never choose a favorite!

Yeah, Glen is insanely amazing, too bad not many people dont know about his music. You can just hear that it really comes from the heart, and he really works his ass off with it, but with passion and pleasure, and that makes the music so good. But instead people listen to Lil' Wayne and Lady blabla.

Exactly. It's absurd how unknown they are yet how they are pretty much the best band of the past 20 years. IMO anyway, I rank them above Radiohead and Coldplay.

BUMP :D.

Here a quite funny and lovely video of Fallen From The Sky :nice:

Hey all,

The North American tour ended last Saturday with a gig in the State Theatre in Minneapolis. It has been a great six-week-long adventure for the band & crew. Thanks all for coming, listening, singing along and sometimes driving for hours for the shows.

So, seeing that this is the round up that closes this leg of the tour we've got some special bits and bobs for you for this very occasion...

There are/will be lots of exclusives online for you to watch and download:

The Swell Season is featured on the Daytrotter Sessions. You can not just listen but you can also download the songs if you click here. Daytrotter.com is a really unique, cool site featuring lots of great artists, so we defo suggest you to take some time and surf around there after grabbing your Swell Season songs.

NPR again decided to spoil you guys with some exclusives. The band will be on World Cafe on the 11th of December. The program runs from 2pm till 4pm (ET) and you can listen to it online worldwide on the WXPN Philadelphia stream.

Also Glen and Mar sat down to perform for the folks at Studio360. You can watch the interview and them playing Red Chord & Parting Glass on the Studio360.org site. And if that leaves you craving for some more: Studio360 also posted a bonus audio of the live perfomance of 'Rain 'on their blog.

That long awaited Craig Ferguson performance aired on the 1st of Dec and now can be viewed on YouTube by all who missed it or would like to see it again.

Glen did an interview with OneMoreTune.ie after the Dublin gig in NCH back in August that can be viewed if you click here. It is a really insightful & interesting feature. Glen talks about the music scene in Ireland, the old days spent in Whelan's, the renowned pub's role in the Irish music community and working with Other Voices. He also tells us which other Irish band he’d like to play with for a day if he was given the opportunity...

For the movie lovers: Once is being shown on Christmas Day in Ireland on RTE2 at 9.10PM and also 'One Step Away', the documentary which was included on the DVD in the deluxe version of Strict Joy, is gracing the Irish telly screens on the 27th of Dec at 11:30PM (RTE2).

After sharing the work of our much beloved photographers Zoral Orlic and David Cleary in the last couple of weeks, it has been long overdue to have some of the photos of Conor Masterson up on our social network sites as well.

Conor has been photographing The Frames/Swell Season for years now and you can find his work on the sleeves of the last Frames album The Cost, Strict Joy and on our official website as well...to mention a few... He was kind to contribute with 19 rare candid images to the photo section of our MySpace site, capturing behind the scenes moments from last year's tour. You find these truly wonderful photos here and make sure you hit up Conor's website for more!

We again have a few interviews/reviews for you to read from all corners of the world:

Germany (in German)- album review on laut.de, Kulturnew, UncleSallys, AMM, Eclipsed

Belium - FocusKnack

Italy (in Italian) - album review on dooyoo.it, and another one on Indie Rock

Korea (in Korean) - LINK to article

Also, there are a few folks who are trying to make our world better by helping to solve the global climate issue in a fair way and by urging us to make small differences in the way we live our lives to preserve our planet. There's a global mobilization—organized by many different groups in the TckTckTck coalition and the Global Climate Campaign—planned for the weekend of December 12.

To find out which event is happening close to you go here. You can also spread the word on Facebook by joining up to complete different goals, from changing your energy supplier to a renewable source to switching off your mobile phone charger when not in use. After adopting a goal make sure to publish it on your facebook profile too to spread the word.

Sorry the links are all dead... I just copied and pasted. BUT, you can easily find the Swell Season stuff by just going to the mentioned website. Be sure to visit the Daytrotter.com site... they've got 5 free downloads of live performances, including STAR STAR! :wacky:

Have fun exploring everything!

^That stuff is usually posted on their Myspace as well.

Listening to the album now, it's awesome!! I have to admit though I like the version of When Your Mind's Made Up from the movie better!

I did too at the beginning, now I like the album version more, it really grows on you. Falling Slowly versions are too different, I like them both equally but you can't beat Mind's Made Up with the screaming guitar over Glen's screaming, and the way it builds up this tension from the start of the song. It's beastly.

I prefer The Frame's version of Falling Slowly, but I like glen and marketas version of When Your Minds Made Up

Anybody got a favorite Say It To Me Now? The movie version was incredible, but so was their rock version on Fitzcarraldo. To me though my favorite is from the Live From The Artists Den DVD where Glen does it acoustically much like in Once, but he does the full song with the extra verses like in the original Fitzcarraldo version. Best of both worlds there.
