trust me, you dont want to hear it.....unless you want to go into a coma :snore:

im so bitchy! sorry! i just find him intensely irritating!

  you're not bitchy...i might feel the same way after i listen to his music...i'll make sure i'm prepared so i don't go into a coma.

well I'm sure in America X&Y was outsold very quickly by one of our wonderful WONDERFUL bands like the black eyed peas or mariah carey or one of those beautiful BEAUTIFUL singers.................................... ................................................................................

james blunt is absolutely terrible. coldplay are great musicians who make songs which are strong musically and vocally. james blunt plays shit chords and just uses a capo to make them sound different and his voice is utterly banal. there is no sign of clever guitar work or any thought in the backing of his songs. e.g. the guitar part at the beginning of your beautiful (all of 3 notes) could be played by someone who had been playing guitar for a week. i hate him and i don't think its a coincidence that his name rhymes with a world beginning with c and ending in unt.

I've heard some songs of JB and they like me, but like others said his voice is too nasal. He should accumulate more experience in the music world.

Coldplay is an amazing band but all of you know they can't always be at the first position of the list... :/

from Music Week

James Blunt’s Back To Bedlam has this week overtaken Coldplay’s X&Y to become the UK’s biggest-selling album of the year to date.

Atlantic-signed Blunt moved ahead of the Parlophone band by around 5,000 copies yesterday with Back To Bedlam’s over-the-counter sales in the UK now standing at around 1.53m. The two albums are some distance ahead of the rest of the pack with the year’s third top artist album, the B Unique/Polydor-issued Kaiser Chiefs set Employment, currently standing at around 820,000 sales.

The Blunt album, which last week made its debut on the Billboard 200 chart at number 187 with 6,000 sales, has spent nine non-consecutive weeks at number one in the UK and is this Sunday expected to hold its place in the Top 10 where it has been since the end of May.

Blunt also has one of the year’s biggest-selling singles to date with You’re Beautiful presently sitting behind UMTV’s (Is This The Way To) Amarillo by Tony Christie featuring Peter Kay and Gut’s Axel F by Crazy Frog as the third top seller to date. The track has also become the biggest-selling download in the UK to date.

thats all very well, but this time next year no ones gonna know who that bloody james blunt is anyway

i like james blunt but they're playing beautiful sooo much on radio its becoming irritating..............on overtaking X & Y

But who's got the emotion spot on? I'd answer James Blunt. He might not be that good musically, but then Coldplay weren't that good either (compared to loads of others)... As far as music for the masses goes, only one thing reliably sells: emotion. The more your emotion clicks with the market, the more your album sells ;)

Not bashing Coldplay or anything, just pointing out a piece of marketing reality. That said, James Blunt is not too bad... I think he's pleasant and calming to listen to

james blunt comes across as very fake to me compared to other male solo artists like david gray or damien rice :dozey:
