interesting choice for first single. it took me a while to get into the when i first heard it back in january but i love it now. the musicianship is awesome.

the actual iTunes version is so good, I love it

Oh, I was one of the few thousand or whatever to see their first show in over a year AND performing the new songs :D it was amazing, wanna see them again!

just downloaded the single off of itunes, alittle dissappointed i couldnt pre order the album and get it free...but anyway i like the song, its different and i cant wait to hear the rest of humbug

has anyone seen or heard any early reviews of the album? assuming that the final product is done.

 

personally i dont always trust these reports simply because the journos only get to listen to the album once or twice, if they are lucky they get to keep it for a day or something so they dont quite get to listen to it properly. but nonetheless i usually cant help myself and read them anyways.

i mostly don't pay attention to review, i mean the new kasabian cd didn't get universally good reviews and i liked it, and dig out you soul got some bad reviews and i loved that. Who's to say the person reviewing it doesn't have some bias against the band and is therefore judging the cd based on that (ie Dig Out you soul 2.5 on rolling stone because they stiffed them over a photoshoot or somthing in the 90s), whilst rolling stone throws out 4 stars for jonas brothers albums because theyre tryin to sell more magazines to young girls. I'll look at the reviews but mostly ill decide whether i like it or not myself. I dont put to much stock in reviews(especially music reviews).

You've got to find a reviewer who mirrors your tastes, otherwise it's pointless.

I quite like the new single. I don't love it, but I'm sure after a few more listens I will. :lol:

Crying Lightning is very much a grower. the first single was not the best song on either album so i'm hoping for the same with Humbug.

the songs i've heard so far are very last shadow puppets. it seems almost inevitable that the frontman will bring in some influence his side project, happens with every band.

Don't ruin the album by listening to shitty recordings, no point

shitty recordings? both of the videos i posted up are perfect quality. cornerstone is the actual studio recording and Secret Door is a perfect bootleg. and i actually dont mind a bit of last shadow puppets influence. if they can combine the best of both sounds on the record it would be incredible.

Nah I mean listening to single leaked tracks like that

 

it ruins the flow of the album when it actually comes out

i guess its a personal preference. usually i only go on to listen to a full album after i've found 2 or 3 songs i like. and in reality is inevitable, a majority of bands put out at least a couple of tracks before the album comes out. if you want to ignore them then thats fair enough but some of us like a little sneak preview.

The new song has really grown on me, I really like it alot and makes me even more excited for the album to come out.

Arctic Monkeys is a very good band and i think they will be better in the future.
