Secret Door is really good. I prefer it over cornerstone. Still no strong riffs noticeable in these songs..

Congrats. Stringy Vibe? It is Shadow-Puppets-Inspired. And these tracks are not nearly as psychedelic as I expected them to be..

Cornerstone is a little too lovey dovey for my liking. Crying Lightning is still the stand out track from the album so far for me. My Propellor is pretty decent!

 

and i agree with you in saying that there hasnt been a wicked riff or anything so far on the album but i think we were all expecting something very different from the boys on this album. another thing that has bothered me is how polished the production is sounding, doesnt suit their sound and style of music.

So I listened... Not really feeling this at all. Not enough energy. It's not just because it's change, feels a little dull for me. That being said there's still like 5-6 songs that could change my mind and many more listens.

Arctic Monkeys to play new album live online

 

Arctic Monkeys have announced plans to stream a special online gig showcasing tracks from their forthcoming album 'Humbug'.

 

The Sheffield four-piece will perform the one-off show through a web transmission via their official site.

 

NME.COM will also be hosting the gig, which takes place this Thursday (July 30) at 9pm (BST).

 

In the meantime, the band have posted a short trailer which you can view here:
