December 15, 200520 yr Ok - the story in full - ish Got to Earls Court at 8.45am and met a guy called Martin who was already there. The Earls Court people were really disorganised and didnt even have a place for us to queue so after loads of asking around, they finally put some barriers up. met some really cool people like Az, Steph, Abba and Tasha (i think) in the queue. We kept being moved from place to place which was annoying cos it meant some people pushed in the queue then finally at 6.30 we were allowed in. This was absolutely appallingly organised because were were let into this massive room and no1 told us where to go. It turned out to be the area with all the bars etc behind the seats but it meant that again more people could push in. ANYWAY finally got to the barrier first with my sisterand had an awesome time standing right in front of Chris' mic. The set was amazing and I couldnt believe how close we were to the stage given it was an arena gig. All the guys were on top form. They even played How You See The World which was so good to hear live. Anyway the greatest bit of the night was during Talk. I'd already seen Chris take someone's phone during the EMAs earlier this year so i got my phone ready and dialled my number so it would go to my voicemail. Then Chris crouched right in front of me to sing the verse and i reached out as far as i could and after some persuation (i shouted so loud! - i presumed he didnt wanna do it cos they were recording that version for the download and didnt wanna mess it up) he took it. My sister and I went mental as he sang into my phone! Then he hung up and called someone (when i looked later he had called my friend rob who was in my list of last called numbers!!!) I called him later and he had picked up but it was way too loud so was really muffled. Then Chris put the phone on the floor and left it there for the rest of the song. (i have photos of the whole thing - will post up soon). Some of my friends were in seated, saw it on the screen and were like "is that Graham's phone?!" Hahahaha!! Anyway the rest of the gig passed in a blur because I was in so much shock. Fix You was superb too tho. When they all sing together it makes life seem complete! So there you go. The best gig I've ever been to but now I'm on such a low cos I know it may never get any better! ps Richard Ashcroft wins the award for best support act ever. Sang all the verve classics and his new stuff sounds good too.
December 15, 200520 yr WOW jonnybucklandhasnicehats that sounds amazing!! Im going to see them on the 21st of december and i can't wait! Will definitly try that phone thing, would be so amazing!! You are so lucky! Thanks for sharing!
December 15, 200520 yr Sounds amazing people! I am off to see them tomorrow and I would like to know about anything specific Coldplay did that I can film. For example the yellow balloons thing, when does that occur during Yellow? Were there any other special effects worth capturing? I hope to get them when they enter the venue because that should be awesome.
December 15, 200520 yr Get a film of Chris when he runs in and jumps off onto the little platform near the front, that was pretty impressive...had all red lights shining on him (this was during Square One at the very beginning). Jump really high to catch a camera (I missed getting Chris's by an inch :/ )!!! Have a great time....Awww Im just thinking Coldplay are probably starting at this very moment in E's court.
December 15, 200520 yr Sadly I am sitting but I will defo get a clip of the lads entering and hopefully them leaving as well.
December 15, 200520 yr I was there. Awesome night. I was the one near the front that caught and threw on one of the glow rings! Thought I'd save it for the fix you climax near the end! Hope it didn't hit anyone. Great souvenir but I thought I would pass it on. Haha. Wish I could go again tonight
December 15, 200520 yr jonnybucklandhasnicehats, that's an amazing story! you're so damn lucky! I think I would've passed out for that. Good thing you got it all.. Did you say what happened with your voicemail? did it sound good at all? even if it didn't, you should still keep it  I remember at the EMAs he actually talked to the person on the phone, but whatever. Sounds like you all had an amazing time. how many people here were sitting in the front row? because it sounds like almost all of you
December 15, 200520 yr the voicemail is ok and you can hear the song but the bit where he actually sang into my phone (cos it feels like theyre talking in language i don't speak, and theyre talking it to me) is very muffled. Maybe microphones and phones dont get on so well and cause feedback etc.? anyway yeah the barrier at the front is really long so could fit about 40 people on it.

You'd think they've been running gigs for so long, they'd know their arses from their elbows. Today as slightly better - however, once inside to where the gate was into the auditorium, some clever git decided that it would be good to change the actual opening to the one 2 along from it. I was going fucking mental!! I did managed to get to the front/center again. We shall see what tomorrow brings...................................
December 16, 200520 yr "At their Earls Court concert in London last night, Coldplay added a version of the Hung Up chorus to their performance of God Put A Smile Upon Your Face. As Chris Martin sang Every little thing that you say or do, I'm hung up, I'm hung up on you, he gradually got louder and louder and the crowd really went wild! Madonna is believed to be attending Coldplay's concert tonight in London. Fans can download the version of the song here (Hung Up comes in at 3min 45sec)" http://www.madonnalicious.com/
December 16, 200520 yr Now I'm back home and the concert was so amazing! Yellow and Talk were my highlights. Anyone know how many people were there?
December 16, 200520 yr Earls Court holds 22,000 people according to a steward I spoke to. 8-10,000 of those standing. Where were you?
December 16, 200520 yr I was in block 40. 22,000 :stunned: I'm surprised cos there were many free seats at the level 4 tier
December 16, 200520 yr jonnybucklandhasnicehats, did i meet you? What do you look like? I was there really early too! Around 10.15-30am i got there on the 14th. Im in such a daydream right now....i've just had the best two nights of my life, its so hard to even start to explain, but i've done my best in the Coldplay section, thread named 'Best 2 Nights of my life...' :)

December 16, 200520 yr Thanks :) Did you see what that bastard over at the Independent wrote! The fucker! Luckily he utterly shot down his credibility with this comment "Sound of Speed", an X&Y single built on a slick Kraftwerk bass riff, proves their variety and skill. Wrong title, wrong song, what a fuckin moron....

December 17, 200520 yr Author Where I was at Earls Court. I was standing at Crystal Palace in June and decided my legs couldnt take another 5hrs of punishment so went for the cheap sitting down option. (these werent even my allocated seats, but hey they were unoccupied and had a better view!!!)
