Oasis=Hooligan Culture. i understand that many people dont like oasis, either musically or because they are arrogant. but all musicans at that level are arrogant, the gallagher brothers just dont bother to hide it. If your thinking that thom yorke doesnt have a massive ego, then you mistaken. and based on the recent gigs oasis are still very important to alot of people.
June 24, 200917 yr No it's not your opinion, Pink Floyd were not as influential as the beatles. And NO band had a bigger cultural impact on the 90's more than Nirvana, and that's a fact. Now who was better musically that's just a matter of personal opinion. But Radiohead did had a lot of inlfuence on many artists. The Bends for example. Many artists tried to achieve that sound (with their own touch of course). And then OK Computer... i like the bends personally better than ok computer.

June 25, 200917 yr i don't think anybody said that ok computer wasn't great. but ok computer was not the greatest rock album of the 90s, either musically which was Agaetis Byrjun or culturally which was nevermind. my personal favorite of the decade was in utero and that isn't even on the list so.

June 25, 200917 yr Achtung Baby. Not purely for the album itself and the Tour that came of the album. How the album was set up. U2 were launched into superstardom with Joshua Tree and a 3 year tour and Movie/album. Then changed everything. This is the best experimental album ever, because its all a parody! They are no longer the young Irish lads, but Bono and The Edge. The tour behind it was the last great rock and roll tour. It was a giant act. Live they found out they couldnt be themselves and they acted how they thought they did. Then changed it to take on roles like The Fly instead of Bono. It was an amazing, experience.
June 25, 200917 yr i really fail to see OKC as a great "rock" album. i usually judge rock albums by the guitar and bass work. the quality of the drumming and how "rock n roll" the vocals are. on simply those terms OKC would hardly get a 9/10 ( as opposed to the 154874 out of 10 it would get judged on its own terms). in my humble opinion radiohead are not a great "rock" band. and from listening to what Thom has said over the years THEY DONT WANT TO BE!

June 26, 200917 yr Invalid forum because howyousawtheworld is on it. going back to the bass and guitar work. you put it up against the great rock records like led zeppelin IV or The Wall, i'm not that impressed at the musicianship. yes there are moments of shear brilliance but jonny will never be put up there with the Page's and Claptons.
