The Einstein of Music

Featured Replies

Oops! That would be guyberryman.net. (right quote (partial), wrong human)! There are a few issues I want to deal with but the most pressing is this: Is Chris Martin / Coldplay the Einstien of Musical Creativity, be it individual, collective or what. Whatever "it" is, it is simply remarkable. This music breaks new ground in so many areas, it is ahead of it's time. I am just blow away by every song on this latest cd, just amazing. Should I be writing this stuff somewhere else, like at the apprropriate thread? Should I start a thread entitled How Good are Coldplay? / Your Feelings (crying allowed). That's not a bad idea egh? Maybe such a thread already exsists? Maybe some of you people who live here could help me on that one? And while I'm on the line, how does one get a hold of something that resembles a front row ticket to one of these shows? And, should I purchase 'got blown away at the concert" insurance? I am so grateful for this last show in Vancouver. If that's the only show I ever see, then so be it, that was enough for a lifetime (Amen Brother!). Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for a performance that was beyond electrifying. Sometimes human talent can be blinding. Once in a rare while does someone or a writing team come along who write / perform songs that take your heart and mind to another realm, another time and place. These guys are blinding. Enjoy the ride!

First of all.. Jon Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Chris Martin makes Coldplay great. It's not just Chris Martin..sure he comes up with the lyrics but the guys come up with tunes and when you like a song it is most of the time the tunes that makes you like a song and then how is sang and blablabla.

Second, you don't need to make another thread about how good Coldplay are (We all here know how good they are).

Third, front row tickets are expensive :/

100% with you on that!

Here, here. It's all four of them owrking together to create the songs they do. What would Yellow be like with out that jangly, de-tuned guitar? Or White Shadows with out the sycompated bass? Or Fix You without the crashing drums?

And If you don't get front row in presale/general sale, be prepared to cough up several hundred dollars for them. They're originally 65 dollars on average, but after they're all swallowed up, the prices get ridiculously inflated because they're in such high demand.

I lost out in the presale, so I had to bid at the official auctions on Ticketmaster. I got 2 5th row seats to the orlando show in March for under 400 dollars. Amazing since the same seats are going for 915 dollars a piece on some ticket scapler web sites. Plus, a portion of that money went to charity. :) All those auctions are closed though so your only hope is E-Bay or a scalper site.

well, lets not jump on the lad now shall we...

If you all care to re-read what he wrote.......

"be it individual, collective or whatever"

Coldplay are the Einsteins and I think the thread should be re-named How Good are Coldplay? / Your Feelings (crying allowed) [good title... ;) ]

This music breaks new ground in so many areas, it is ahead of it's time.

Well, I don't know about that. Even they admit they aren't re-inventing the wheel. They do know how to string together some catchy tunes and riffs that's for sure. Saying stuff like in the quote though, will just produce another 20 million Coldplay haters.

I'm only just discovering their body of work, so, I'm sorry for the emotive bleeting! If you want to understand a bit more then maybe Nettie might forward to yourselves an email I sent today. I will try to curtail singing the praises of Berryman / Buckland / Champion and.. What's his Face, but I don't think it will work. i.m only human. It was the pot that made me do it. I love you all.

Damn. I love that song.

Ok, yeah it's really late and I admit I read none of that. I did catch the How Good Are Coldplay thing. Um dude, I think it's pretty obvious how much we all like Coldplay.

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO I missed that.

Ok, putting the email up!

First of al!! I am well aware of the fact that all four compose the

group. I also know that a four leaf clover with no leaves is a no leaf

clover. You may have on occasion, heard groups like the Stones referred to

as Mick Jagger and Rolling Stones? Part of my highlighting of Chris's

abilities were in the same vein. I also noticed on A Rush of Blood to the

Head that Chris's name is last in song credit. Humility is good. I think

many of us learn it only after many lifetimes suffering (by our own hand).

This might help to put it all in perspective (my rant). Have you ever

heard of a Canadian artist named Jan Arden? I saw her live for the first

time having been familiar with all her hits but never having sat thropugh

one of her cds. She is a Genious. She can let music out of herself. She can

take three notes and create a symphony, with her voice alone. Talk about the

power to move emotions. In fact, if the band ever wants to hear some very

fascinating music, I'm sure they would like her work. Anyway, that copncert

was exceptionl! I was completely blown away by this woman who for so many

years was producing extremely beautiful music (sound familiar?!) and I

did'nt own one cd? I went home and bought all her stuff and listend to it

for weeks.

When I first heard "Yellow" I was extremly touched. I knew these guys

were going stratospheric back then. I don't want to get into here why I

stopped buying and listening to music for a number of years (later). I had

some very hard life situations to deal with in my last two years in Victoria

and subsequently my heart was blown wide open. I highly recommend it some

day! Anyway, because of that I missed their last two concerts on the

mainland (Vancouver). I gave up getting tickets for the show I went to (i

know, oximoron, i know, sp. inc.) bescause u2 sold out on the net (at gm

place in van) in 6 minutes and I did'nt get a ticket to that show (tried on

the net) Coldplay did similar but a 2nd show was added, which I accidentally

got tickets to. I called ticketmaster when I got home (the day ticks went on

sale) to get tips on how to get a big show ticket on the net but ended up

talking to the auto attendant and oh would you like to buy ticks for

Coldplay 2 on Friday night?? I lucked out. At work I heard on the radio that

their only show was sold out. God is Good!

I am very familiar with all of the radio exposure Coldplay has

received, but up until Dec,26, 05 I never listed to one of their cds. I have

a list of cds to buy which I just started to buy after seing Coldplay.

These guys have rearanged my molecules. I'm seriouis!! So right now I am

intoxicated on these guys. This music is divine. I am litertally just

discovering their body of work. I am only human.

In future I will try to refrain from singing the praises of Berryman,

Buckland, Champion and Martin.

I 'll try but I don't think it'will work!!!!!

I am starting a thread at the coldplay.com site under general about the music, life and the world. I am concerned about a lot of different causes and that seems the appropriate place to go, to talk about these issues and tell your stories, be that what it is. Beside, I can also rant about the group in that thread also!!! oh, i have been unoffially given the job of janitor at the churchofchrismarten.com. My job is now to wash the floor he walks on!!!!! sorry, sorry (mr fawlty!!!) the floor they walk on!!!!!
