"Wandering Star" - Portishead

Please could you stay awhile to share my grief,

For it's such a lovely day,

To have to always feel this way,

And the time that I will suffer less,

Is when I never have to wake.

Wandering stars,

For whom it is reserved,

The blackness of darkness, forever,

Wandering stars,

For whom it is reserved,

The blackness of darkness, forever.

Those who have seen the needles eye, now tread,

Like a husk, from which all that was now has fled,

And the masks, that the monsters wear,

To feed, upon their prey.

Wandering stars,

For whom it is reserved,

The blackness of darkness, forever,

Wandering stars,

For whom it is reserved,

The blackness of darkness, forever.

Doubled up inside,

Take awhile to shed my grief,

Always doubled up inside,

Taunted, cruel.

Wandering stars,

For whom it is reserved,

The blackness, the darkness, forever,

Wandering stars,

For whom it is reserved,

The blackness, the darkness, forever.

Hope There's Someone

hope there's someone

who'll take care of me

when i die, will i go.

hope there's someone

who'll set my heart free

nice to hold when i'm tired.

there's a ghost on the horizon

when i go to bed

how can i fall asleep at night

how will i rest my head.

oh i'm scared of the middle place

between light and nowhere

i don't want to be the one

left in there, left in there.

there's a man on the horizon

wish that i'd go to bed

if i fall to his feet tonight

will allow rest my head.

so here's hoping i will not drown

or paralyze in light

and godsend i don't want to go

to the seal's watershed.

hope there's someone

who'll take care of me

when I die, will i go

hope there's someone

who'll set my heart free

nice to hold when i'm tired..

Aqualung- "Strange and Beautiful"

I've been watching your world from afar

I've been trying to be where you are

And I've been secretly falling apart

Unseen

To me, you're strange and you're beautiful

You'd be so perfect with me

But you just can't see

You turn every head but you don't see me

I'll put a spell on you

You'll fall asleep

When I put a spell on you

And when I wake you I'll be the first thing you see

And you'll realize that you love me

Yeah

Ye-ah

Sometimes the last thing you want comes in first

Sometimes the first thing you want never comes

But I know that waiting is all you can do

Sometimes

I'll put a spell on you

You'll fall asleep

When I put a spell on you

And when I wake you I'll be the first thing you see

And you'll realise that you love me

I'll put a spell on you

You'll fall asleep

Cause I put a spell on you

And when I wake you I'll be the first thing you see

And you'll realize that you love me, yeah

Yeah

Ye-ah

Yeah

Ye-ah

LITTLE LOVER

Saw you in the front row

Movin' to the beat

(Just movin' and groovin')

Killed me when I saw

The wet patch on your seat

(Wasn't Coca Cola)

Ooo baby

I hope you liked the show

When the band said good night

I had to say hello

CHORUS:

Little lover, I can't get you off my mind

Little lover, I've tried hard to find

Someone like you

Ooo baby you sure looked sweet

(Cruisin')

A leg either side of my motorcycle seat

(oozin')

Could've bin a nightmar

Could've bin a dream

But on the way home, baby

I thought I heard you scream

Little lover, I can't get you off my mind

Little Lover, I've been trying hard to find

someone to give me the things that I need, ow!

You had my picture on your bedroom wall

(Next to Gary Glitter)

I was standin' on the stage playing rock & roll

(I was a guitar picker)

Never had a record

Never had a hit

Ooo baby

You didn't mind a bit

CHORUS

Baby I know you're a

Little lover

Death Cab for Cutie - Passenger Seat (beautifully sweet song)

i roll the window down

and then begin to breathe in

the darkest country road

and the strong scent of evergreen

from the passenger seat as you are driving me home.

then looking upwards

i strain my eyes and try

to tell the difference between shooting stars and satellites

from the passenger seat as you are driving me home.

"do they collide?"

i ask and you smile.

with my feet on the dash

the world doesn't matter.

when you feel embarrassed then i'll be your pride

when you need directions then i'll be the guide

for all time.

for all time.

Fort Minor - "Kenji"

My father came from Japan in 1905

He was 15 when he immigrated from Japan

He, he... he worked until he was able to buy this patch

And build a store

Let me tell you the story in the form of a dream,

I don't know why I have to tell it but I know what it means,

Close your eyes, just picture the scene,

As I paint it for you, it was World War II,

When this man named Kenji woke up,

Ken was not a soldier,

He was just a man with a family who owned a store in LA,

That day, he crawled out of bed like he always did,

Bacon and eggs with wife and kids,

He lived on the second floor of a little store he ran,

He moved to LA from Japan,

They called him 'Immigrant,'

In Japanese, he'd say he was called "Issei,"

That meant 'First Generation In The United States,'

When everyone was afraid of the Germans, afraid of the Japs,

But most of all afraid of a homeland attack,

And that morning when Ken went out on the doormat,

His world went black 'cause,

Right there; front page news,

Three weeks before 1942,

"Pearl Harbour's Been Bombed And The Japs Are Comin',"

Pictures of soldiers dyin' and runnin',

Ken knew what it would lead to,

Just like he guessed, the President said,

"The evil Japanese in our home country will be locked away,"

They gave Ken, a couple of days,

To get his whole life packed in two bags,

Just two bags, couldn't even pack his clothes,

Some folks didn't even have a suitcase, to pack anything in,

So two trash bags was all they gave them,

When the kids asked mum "Where are we goin'?"

Nobody even knew what to say to them,

Ken didn't wanna lie, he said "The US is lookin' for spies,

So we have to live in a place called Mandinar,

Where a lot of Japanese people are,"

Stop it don't look at the gunmen,

You don't wanna get the soldiers wonderin',

If you gonna run or not,

'Cause if you run then you might get shot,

Other than that try not to think about it,

Try not to worry 'bout it; bein' so crowded,

Someday we'll get out, someday, someday.

As soon as war broke out

The G.I came and they just come to the house and

"You have to come"

"All the Japanese have to go"

They took Mr. Lee

People didn't understand

Why did they have to take him?

Because he's an innocent labourer

So now they're in a town with soldiers surroundin' them,

Every day, every night look down at them,

From watch towers up on the wall,

Ken couldn't really hate them at all;

They were just doin' their job and,

He wasn't gonna make any problems,

He had a little garden with vegetables and fruits that,

He gave to the troops in a basket his wife made,

But in the back of his mind, he wanted his families life saved,

Prisoners of war in their own damn country,

What for?

Time passed in the prison town,

He wanted them to live it down when they were free,

The only way out was joinin' the army,

And supposedly, some men went out for the army, signed on,

And ended up flyin' to Japan with a bomb,

That 15 kiloton blast, put an end to the war pretty fast,

Two cities were blown to bits; the end of the war came quick,

Ken got out, big hopes of a normal life, with his kids and his wife,

But, when they got back to their home,

What they saw made them feel so alone,

These people had trashed every room,

Smashed in the windows and bashed in the doors,

Written on the walls and the floor,

"Japs not welcome anymore."

And Kenji dropped both of his bags at his sides and just stood outside,

He, looked at his wife without words to say,

She looked back at him wiped the tears away,

And, said "Someday we'll be okay, someday,"

Now the names have been changed, but the story's true,

My family was locked up back in '42,

My family was there it was dark and damp,

And they called it an internment camp

When we first got back from camp... uhh

It was... pretty... pretty bad

I, I remember my husband said

"Are we gonna stay 'til last?"

Then my husband died before they close the camp.

Ryan Adams- For No One

It's been a long and a sad goodbye

For hellos and handshakes, to kisses and lies

Ask me that you'd like to know me well

Well you already have

You already do

Nobody does

And I guess it says something for you

I'm lost

I thank God I'm lost

I mean, what does anybody really even want

Ask me that you'd like to know me well

Well you already have

You already do

Nobody does

And I guess it says something for you

And I knew, I knew

I knew, I knew

All your lies were true

It's been a long and a sad goodbye

For hellos and handshakes, kisses and lies

Ask me that you'd like to know me well

Well you already have

You already do

Nobody does, nobody does

I guess it says something for you

right now, the lyric of my life is:

if you could see it then youd understand.

Does anyone know the lyrics for the following songs:

- "This Temporary Life" by Death Cab For Cutie

- "Tourniquet" by Headswim

- "Zombie" by The Cranberries

TONIGHT, TONIGHT the smashing pumpkins

Time is never time at all

You can never ever leave without leaving a peace of youth

And our lives are forever changed

We will never be the same

The more you change the less you feel

Believe believe in me believe

That life can change that you're not stuck in vain

We're not the same we're different tonight

Tonight so bright tonight

And you know you're never sure

But you're sure you could be right

If you held yourself up to the light

And the embers never fade in your city by the lake

The place where you were born

Believe believe in me believe

In the resolute urgency of now

And if you believe there's not a tonight

Tonight so bright tonight

We'll crucify the incinsere tonight

We'll make things right we'll feel it all tonight

We'll find a way to offer up the night tonight

The indescribable moments of your life tonight

The impossible is possible tonight

Believe in me as I believe in you

Tonight tonight

Tonight

Does anyone know the lyrics for the following songs:

- "This Temporary Life" by Death Cab For Cutie

- "Tourniquet" by Headswim

- "Zombie" by The Cranberries

"This Temporary Life"

the morning sun's about to break,

i'm looking in as you create someone,

you lift your head and brush your teeth,

and make your bed as if you won't sleep again,

you fix your hair and tie your shoes,

and tuck your shirt and now you feel new.

the glass is full, the glass is broke,

and every day dissolves and there's no hope

of ever leaving this temporary life.

of ever leaving this temporary life.

you may ask yourself "is there anyone so alone?"

but there's no beep before the dial-tone

when you pick it up to see who called

if there is it's probably your mom

but, oh, the rising sun brings little cheer

to this city with the stolen name

and you're wondering whose bright idea

it was to pack your things and leave your friends

and move down here.

"Tourniquet"

Life come undone

Mortal coil sprug

Lifted your drifted

Welcoming sun

Some days I feel brave

Riding the air waves

Locked in this room

Give me some room

Scratching the pavement

Grazed knees and broken nails

Some small tokens of how life goes by

I'd love to see you try

I won't steal your pain

Just tighten the touniquet

You're losing the feeling

I'm counting the hours

The beauty in dead flowers

Heart that keeps you warm

The things you don't think about

Like why we feel so old

Eyes like pissholes in the snow

Wanting to leave

All your life you stayed in tune

Singing songs for the doomed

It's always lonely being free

Never what you wanted to be

"zombie"

Another head hangs lowly,

Child is slowly taken.

And the violence caused such silence,

Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.

In your head, in your head they are fighting,

With their tanks and their bombs,

And their bombs and their guns.

In your head, in your head, they are crying...

In your head, in your head,

Zombie, zombie, zombie,

Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,

In your head,

Zombie, zombie, zombie?

Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou...

Another mother's breakin',

Heart is taking over.

When the vi'lence causes silence,

We must be mistaken.

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.

In your head, in your head they're still fighting,

With their tanks and their bombs,

And their bombs and their guns.

In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,

Zombie, zombie, zombie,

Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,

In your head,

Zombie, zombie, zombie?

Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh,

Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a...

^^ THANK YOU *andrea*, I really appreciate it.

Bones to the left of me

Bones to the right

Well I can't decide what to take from this flight

Oh silk you silly major

Silk is our food

You've been out there looking

But you found nothing good

Missed a little backdrop

The backdrop was poor

Didn't show the story

Had to guess to be sure

And still the silly major

He didn't know what to do

He bin' out there looking

But he found nothing good

And Oh what to do

Except to say "Poor little you"

'Cause we bin' out here looking for life

we bin' out here looking for life

while you're sitting idly by

'Cause that's what good friends do ... for you

Safe, I've got my sentiments socially primed

I know what to say if the moments arise

But still the silly major he don't know what to do

He bin' out there looking but

He ain't got a clue

And Oh what to do ...

Safe, I've got my sentiments socially primed

I know what to say if the moments arise

But still the silly major

Take it from me

Interference - Wild Bill's Circus Scene (Take Me To Dance)

It’s a shame the way you chose to go

A genuine hero caught up in a travelling show.

A broken Indian in Wild Bills circus scene

Alone at night in your bed with the wind

Do you think of what was and what might have been

Won’t you take me to dance

In the streets of my last chance

Please take me to dance

Today

It was in July when you closed the door

A decision you took on the killing floor

And now your head is swelling with more and more

Things that make the truth seem obscure

I loved you once when your excuses were pure

Won’t you take me to dance

In a deep and drugged trance

Please take me to dance

I’ll pay

Remember the unravelling rambling road

The burning horizon a city that glowed

And the fields that rolled like waves

Right down to the wall

Where we sat listening for the sound of a call

And the silence..

Won’t you take me to dance

On the point of St Georges lance

Please take me to dance

I’ll pray

But that was all so long ago

The seasons turned those green fields to gold

Just like the money that buys you things

With jewels on your fingers and snakes at your feet

And the price of the doormen where all your prophets meet

Won’t you take me to dance

In the streets of my last chance

Please take me to dance

Today

Talk Tonight

Sittin' on my own

Chewin' on a bone

A thousand million

Miles from home

When Something hit me

Somewhere right between the eyes

Sleepin' on a plane

You know you can't complain

You took your last chance

Once again

I landed, stranded

Hardly even knew your name

I wanna talk tonight

Until the mornin' light

'Bout how you saved my life

You and me see how we are

You and me see how we are

All your dreams are made

Of Strawberry lemonade

And you make sure

I eat today

You take me walking

To where you played

When you were young

I'll never say that I

Won't ever make you cry

And this I'll say

I don't know why

I know I'm leavin'

But I'll be back another day

I wanna talk tonight

Until the mornin' light

'Bout how you saved my life

(You saved my life)

I wanna talk tonight

(I wanna talk tonight)

'Bout how you saved my life

(I wanna talk tonight)

'Bout how you saved my life

(I wanna talk tonight)

'Bout how you saved my life

(I wanna talk tonight)

'Bout how you saved my life

I wanna talk tonight...

She just can't sleep in her bed,

She's falling down the stairs

She's tearing out her hair

She's screaming my name, in the night

To keep her warm

She got a red pill blue pill

Red pill Blue pill

Red pill Blue pill

Red pill Blue pill

Milk of amnesia

Hey hey hey hey

C'mon I know that you want it

There's nothing, nothing to shout about

So jump, jump back in

Red pill Blue pill

Red pill Blue pill

Red pill Blue pill

She got a red pill blue pill

Red pill Blue pill

Red pill Blue pill

Red pill Blue pill

Milk of amnesia

She's scared of the blacks and she's scared of the Jews

She is always out there, she is yesterday's news

She screams out my name in the dead of the night

She is leaving my room, she is crying on her side

Walking on eggshells, walking on glass,

Burnt by the mirror, burnt the light

Feeling rejection I'm going to burn down your house

Tearing down posters I was never alive
