I'm really unsure how real christians would react to a God picture drawn by muslims!You are not allowed to draw a god picture in our christian believe!

 

there's no 'law' as such, at least in Catholicism that forbids this though...i don't think!

Well...I would really like to say something....as I am a muslim and I can see the whole point " I mean I can see everyones reaction in the arab world"...besides im neutral..

and there is apoint,the media has an imp role in that...someone here said that the media in ur countries doesnt give u a very good IDEA of muslims..and the same happens here actually...it went the same way...so I THINK THAT 75% OF THE MATTER IS FROM MEDIA!

People chanting death to Denmark and Europe over a cartoon? Does this actually represent the feelings of Muslim's in the middle east or is this some crazy media spin? If this is really what these people are going to act like in a world of free international press, then fuck em, they are acting like children. It really makes me sad. I and others I know who normally empathize with problems of the muslim people in the middle east are losing alot of respect for them over this.

 

But maybe its all a hype, maybe its something the media focusses on.

actually i was mad too. Muslim loves Muhammed and there's a law in the Koran that we didnt allowed to draw Muhammed's face in any way. it's a really big problem for us muslim, really. we felt like our Muhammed's have been treated in a wrong way. im not agree about that 'burn the KFC restaurant and MCD and all that' thing that people did, maybe it was overreacted but that's what some people do when someone they love is like i said, being treated in a very wrong way. we're muslim hurt.

When i first heard about the reactions of people in the middle east, I was just flippin disgusted.

 

Yes, they are overreacting, immature, stupid idiots who need to attend anger management classes.

 

Sure, the caricatures were wrong, I was offended too.

But there was one caricature of the Prophet Mohammed with a bomb on his head. i dont know what that's supposed to really mean, but I assume that the person who drew it is trynna say that Islams are violent? I dunno, but that's wat I assume.

i read an article in one of the oppositions newspaper in my country..and its says...that those ppl who are provin the drawers point of view just like what u said!

i'm jewish, but i live in the middle east, along with many muslim- arabs

i think that maybe some muslim ppl are very extreme in their opinions and thoughts. The islam religion believes in vendetta, and there are many stories about muslim families that were fighting for years and years, killing each other. And well, those are their traditions, they believe that killing a person for revenge will get them 7 virgins in heaven when they die. But i think that's only with the extremely relegious ones.

Over here it hjust plays a part because everytime the israeli army kills an arab then a suicide bomber would go on a bus and kill 15 jewish citizens. And i dont care how much ppl claim that the arabs dont get equel civil rights here, nothing justifies that..........

 

and so the muslims are portraited to the world this way, cause it makes the news intresting, and so is the israeli government- it's all for the rating in the end. The world can be such an awful place sometimes :(

They're definitely too extreme and violent in their position. I'm sure most of the western side will agree in that.

 

But unfortunately it's their culture, their millenial traditions haven't experimented much changes through history so they have many rooted conceptions that western world might take as retrograde or simply and dangerous fanaticisms and maybe they really are. Even if doesn't seem like it, the Muslim world is a big and an important part of the world (Asia and Africa) whether if we agree with their points or not , 100% respect is needed because that's simply their way of living.

 

That's why I think people should get rid of religion now that we're at XXI century, is only a dividing thing that at the hand of ignorance can cause so much harm... Education is strongly needed instead! :/

We are way too stupid of a race at this point in time to be a united world, being united by absolutely nothing. Instead, the only way we can even survive is to have a united feel between different colonies of people, in which unfortunate conflicts will arise, but there's not much that can be done about this.

 

People, especially those across Africa, Europe and Arab's, need faith badly, their lives just depend on it.

Well, why not education? why not being united by thoughts of humanity and progress? Yeah I know it's too damn utopic for the actual world, full of social, economic, racial inequalities and I clearly see your point: people's misery and ignorance can only be justified by a God. As Marx said religion is the opium of the mases.

Marx's most famous quote had been regretted later in his life when he realised the faults in his views on religion. But hell, Marx was all over the place his entire career.

I just have to correct this... It's a misunderstanding. Islam does not believe in vendetta at all. Those family feuds are a tradition in that part of the world where Islam first began. Islam is actually against vendettas. So... Yeah.

 

Oh there's just so much misunderstanding. I think everyone's just misunderstood the religion too much. The only source for reference is the one and only Holy Quran, and whats not in it is not Islamic.
