im always amazed at the type of people who love metallica. the other day this guy got to choose 5 songs to play on the radio. he chose lady gaga fall out boy and techno thing and Enter Sandman. i have some friends who only have rnb and hip hop on their ipods plus 6 or 7 metallica songs.

yes they are heavy and loud and yes they are metal/hard rock but their music is very straightforward and relatively easy on the ears. and who doesnt like a good headbang!

I saw them last night and easily add it to my top three gigs in my entire life. Crowd of the festival was like 160k people and I was on the left side in like 7-8th row. The people were brilliant singing the every lyric possible plus the setlist was again awesome(4 Death magnetic songs plus the first 5 albums). More to come

So would you say they are better live than Coldplay?

Cos I seen Coldplay live,but not Metallica......

Im finally able to speak here. This setlist was very brutal IMO. I was only dreaming about Dyers Eve and my dream came true wow. Anyway the rain at the start was a bit annoying, but no one seemed to care which was great. People totally ignored it and kept singing. Crowd knew even all the DM songs lyrics. Easily goes into my top three gigs ever.

Well Im not sure,my musically best gig was Muses followed by Metallica(both gigs). On the other hand on Coldplay I was stunned and crying I can see my favourite band. You know I had to wait for it 8 long years.

Coldplay gig is like sex with your dreamt-of woman.

^Oh i see...:stunned:

that looks like a rather short setlist for a metallica show. how long is the DVD?

they've extended their world tour into april 2010. is that the end or is there a chance they do a few more shows, hopefully down in australia. its been 6 long years since they last toured here.

That board is cooler than i thought, great band yeah.

Metallica announce eight-track live EP

'Six Feet Down Under' coming out later this September

Metallica have announced plans to release a new live EP featuring tracks recorded during gigs in Australia.

The band are releasing 'Six Feet Down Under' from their official website, Metallica.com, from September 20 to mark the end of their 'World Magnetic' tour.

The eight-track EP, which has been put together by the band with the help of fan recordings, features cuts from performances stretching from 1989 up to 2004.

Writing on their website the band explained: "You guys, the fans, came to our rescue with some pretty decent bootleg options and we trimmed those down to two songs from each tour in 1989, 1993, 1998 and 2004. In digging a little deeper, it occurred to us that we had tracks that had never before been released as 'live b-sides' and that added to the adventure of pulling it all together."

The tracklisting for 'Six Feet Down Under' is:

'Eye Of The Beholder' - Recorded live on May 4, 1989 at Festival Hall in Melbourne

'...And Justice For All' - Recorded live on May 4, 1989 at Festival Hall in Melbourne

'Through The Never' - Recorded live on April 8, 1993 at the Entertainment Centre in Perth

'The Unforgiven' - Recorded live on April 4, 1993 at the National Tennis Centre in Melbourne

'Low Man's Lyric (Acoustic)' - Recorded live on April 11, 1998 at the Entertainment Centre in Perth

'Devil's Dance' - Recorded live on April 12, 1998 at the Entertainment Centre in Perth

'Frantic' - Recorded live on January 21, 2004 at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney

'Fight Fire With Fire' - Recorded live on January 19, 2004 at the Entertainment Centre in Brisbane
