ok those are just 10 albums i really love and i didnt get to go thru my music collection and im not going to.. coz i know i 'll find like 100 other albums that i love and i wont know which ones to take off the list .. and which ones to add.. the end.

1. Brian Wilson - Smile - Gershwin + Ives + Beach Boys + Van Dyke Parks = pure brilliance

2. Miles Davis - On the Corner - Miles delves into pure drugged out street funk, blended with Stockhausen-style tape manipulation. My favorite "jazz" record ever, if you consider it to be jazz at all.

3. The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds - Best pure pop album ever, plain and simple.

4. The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - Take any of the pre-existing hyperbolic praise and just insert it here.

5. Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children - The mostly strangely soothing and ethereal record I've ever heard. The kind that transports you to a different world.

6. The Zombies - Odessey and Oracle - Beautiful psychedelic pop. Another underrated gem.

7. John Coltrane - A Love Supreme - I'm always fascinated by art created through devotion to God, especially coming from a guy so messed up on booze and heroin.

8. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Almost four years later, I still love this one a little more every time I listen to it.

9. John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band - John's most raw, and in my opinion, best solo work. As good as almost any Beatles album.

10. Incredible String Band - The Beautiful Hangman's Daughter - Archetypal acid-folk from the 1960's. This is what Devendra Banhart is playing almost 40 years later.

There. I don't know why I bothered with that, because the Beatles are surely the only artist on my list that anybody else will vote for, but whatever.

1. U2 - Achtung Baby

2. James - Laid

3. Oasis - Definately Maybe

4. Weezer - Weezer (blue)

5. Pogues - If I Should Fall from Grace With God

6. Radiohead - The Bends

9. U2 - The Joshua Tree

10. Doves - Lost Souls

4. coldplay- AROBTTH

5. radiohead- the bends

6. muse- absolution

7. oasis- dont believe the truth

8. smashing pumpkins- rotten apples

9. saybia- the second you sleep

10. radiohead- pablo honey

Mate your forgetting one of the rules

2. you can choose max 2 (!!!!) albums from one artist ( for example you can't vote for 3 coldplay albums, only for 2 of them)
, so you best edit your list to sort out the problem with all 3 coldplay albums

1.Dark side of the moon-Pink floyd

2.Texas flood/Couldnt stand the weather- Stevie Ray Vaughan

3.A Rush Of Blood To The Heas- Coldplay

4.X&Y-Coldplay

5.Vibrations-Bob Marley

6.Reggae Smash hits-Steel Pulse

7.Tragic Kingdom-No doubt

8.Any Aerosmith album before "Big ones"-Aerosmith

Bump.....are you still going to compile the answere Nik?

that would be pointless...of 20 votes or something? and some votes are invalid so...not really interesting

sorry guys, but let this thread DIE please :nice:

THE BEATLES - THE WHITE ALBUM

Covering every kind of music imaginable, there is not a dull track on this one, and even though it's two discs, it never gets boring.

Fave Tracks - Dear Prudence, Mother Nature's Son, Long Long Long

PEARL JAM - TEN

Nirvana's Nevermind may have opened the doors to grunge and alternative rock, but this album stampeded and knocked down those doors for good.

Fave Tracks - Evenflow, Why Go, Release

THE VELVET UNDERGROUND - ....AND NICO

So dark and mysterious, this album gets better with every listen. No filler, every song is worthy of analysis.

Fave Tracks - Waiting For The Man, All Tomorrow's Parties, There She Goes

SOUNDGARDEN - SUPERUNKNOWN

1994's finest moment musically. One of the most influential rock albums of the 90s, and one hell of a listen.

Fave Tracks - My Wave, Fell On Black Days, Superunknown, Half

THE VERVE - A NORTHERN SOUL

Urban Hymns and Bittersweet Symphony is the song EVERYBODY knows, but this dark and brooding epic work is by far their best album.

Fave Tracks - History, No Knock On My Door, Storm Clouds

RADIOHEAD - OK COMPUTER

When I close my eyes and listen to this, I can see the future.

Fave Tracks - Subterranian Homesick Alien, Karma Police, The Tourist

TOOL - LATERALUS

The ultimate spiritual heavy metal experience. Good music for soul searching and contemplating things.

Fave Tracks - The Grudge, Parabola, Lateralus

SMASHING PUMPKINS - GISH

When listening and comparing this to Mellon Collie..., you won't think much of it, but if you take it for what it is, a simple debut album, then you see how good it is.

Fave Tracks - Rhinoceros, Snail, Window Paine

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - NEBRASKA

As far as I'm concerned, this is Springsteen at his best, with nothing but a guitar, harmoica, and his voice. Every ballad on this album touches you emotionally.

Fave Tracks - Nebraska, Masnion On The Hill, Highway Patrolman, Used Cars

GREEN DAY - WARNING

Their most unfairly underrated album. This is their best. It's Green Day's take on Bob Dylan, and it makes every song on this a winner. The best cd of 2000.

Fave Tracks - Blood Sex and Booze, Hold On, Macey's Day Parade

We can let it run a little longer...or do one with just the top five albums.

To make it fair I have only picked one album from each of my favourite artists. Greatest Hits Albums don't count.

1. Coldplay - A Rush Of Blood To The Head

2. U2 - The Joshua Tree

3. Oasis - What's The Story (Morning Glory?)

4. James Blunt - Back To Bedlam

5. Embrace - Out Of Nothing

6. Kaiser Chiefs - Employment

7. Robbie Williams - Escapology

8. John Lennon - Imagine

9. Radiohead - The Bends

10. Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand

Coldplay - Parachutes

Radiohead - The Bends

Travis - The man who

The Doors - The Doors

Bob Dylan - Highway 61 revisited

U2- The Joshua tree

U2 - Achtung baby

Coldplay- The rush of blood to the head

Oasis - what's the story ...

Radiohead - OK computer

Do one with the top 5 albums, but ban coldplay albums from being included
