Independance

How independant are you at this moment?

Do you rely on others in any way? Be it financial, or emotional?

I dont know, I live on my own, so I do my cooking, cleaning and washing. My parents live over the sea, everything I pay for comes from my hard work, so financially, nobody is covering me, but me.

Emotionally, yeah I guess I would be pretty sad if I didnt have certain people around me.

I think people do help me out, but its because I'm a nice guy and I'd do the same back. I dont rely on their help, they kind of impose it, and I accept unless I think they are just trying to be nice.

In situations like when a friend makes me a meal, or buys me a beer, or helps me move stuff around my room, its just nice acts I could live on with or without them. I'd say Im quite independant.

you're my hero

I live with my mom and my brothers, and it wasn't til last year that I got my own room (I'm grateful)

I don't work,my mom is my personal bank,I can't go to concerts or buy cds or clothes if she's in a bad time (pretty much all the time)

I'd kill to live alone, I have my whole life planned so I can be independent when I'm 18 or 19

I think its a fairly natural time to want to be independant. But most teenagers probably dont mean it (I dont mean you, but I remember some kids at that age who didnt really know what they were talking about).

I knew a girl when I was 15 and she was always complaining about her parents and how badly she wanted to move out, and when she got to 18 she was missing home like hell. It's the little things that bug you the most, I cant really explain it, but although I dont miss home, I can see how people would be really homesick just by the little things of waking up in a flat and having nobody to talk to, or having to make a meal and then always having to worry about washing up. I just got used to it quick.

I believe you though, you are genuine, I felt the same way at your age.

It's not like I hate my family, they're not the reason I wanna move out. I like being at home but I like it better when I'm alone listening to music, singing or watching movies on my own. Having a 2 year old brother gets a little annoying most of the time

On Christmas my mom and brothers went to a little gathering and I stayed home eating ice cream, watching TV and Star Wars III on DVD...the perfect night

i saw it,wonderful

I hate that I have absolutely no alone time. Some nights I wait til my mom goes to bed, lock my doors, turn on the radio and have a smoke with my head outside the window. A little uncomfortable but it's all I can get

I think I'm half independent......I still go to school.....but i work at weekends so financial I'm also half independent...I have to buy things i don#t really need to live (CDs,etc.....).....the other things my parents pay.....in my decisions I'm independent since I'm 18.....I asked my parents if i can do now whatever i want...they said yes and that they can only give advices....I think this is cool......

id say that im on my way to being dependant, i work weekends so ive got cash for places and clothes, and im learning to drive so bit by bit im gaining all this independance. my parents let me go out more and do things for myself nowadays so its pretty awesum knowing that they trust me enough to give me the freedom to do most things that i want.

I started being independant when I was 19 and I left my country to work in Switzerland...

At this very moment I also have to support 4 younger brothers... I bought an apartment for them and I pay school for 2 of them... not easy...
