See...... I dunno, for me it's alright. I think it's just because I've become so numb to the fact that I'm never going to see the Libertines together. I mean there's always that CHANCE, but.... I mean, considering where I live. If they ever get together it'll be in London, and it'd probably be a one off thing. I'd most likely never see it..... but... ah.

 

 

Like when I saw DPT they played France, Death on the Stairs and I Get Along from the Libs era. I'd say it's blasphemous but..... it'd be an insult to Carl, yanno? Dunno. And I really loved hearing those songs live, so I guess something is always better than nothing.

 

 

I can't help but think maybe the song's a bit poignant now..... with all the weird stuff going on with Peter that I can't even begin to comprehend.... Very poignant....

I totally get your point and hearing those songs live by anyone that was actually in the Libertines would probablly be amazing but somehow, there are just some songs that I don't want to hear from anyone then those four men that was in the band...

Totally agree with ya tea i think it would be fine for peter to sing time for heroes i don't know why but it just seems more like his song and for carl to sing i get along. I don't like it when carl (or peterbut i don't think he's ever sung it) sings boys in the band just basically it about the libertines like you'd never here shambles or dpt singin what became of the likely lads because its just not right and i also don't like it if they sing don't look back into the sun cause it just doesn't sound right it has to have both of their great voices in it.

I dunno, I don't know what a Libertines reunion would entail. I honestly believe, whole heartedly, that John would never join a reunion. And I think about it......... I don't know if I'd want him to. And I think about Gary....

 

 

But then at the same time my mind goes "but the Libertines were so obviously more than Peter and Carl". And I know that..... but I think John and Gary so got the short end of the stick ALL the time, I've always felt horribly bad for them because from the begining it WAS Peter and Carl. And I believe they're both pretty happy where they are right now, so I don't know if they'd ever want to revisit that. I'd rather them be happy doing what they want to then put on a false face for us fans, yanno? ;)

 

I don't know, I don't know what the dynamic is between Peter and Carl..... Other than that "reunion" back in July or June or whenever that was....... It's just odd. To be honest, I think I've completely given up on a reunion, it's just easier for me to cope that way :laugh4: Maybe I shouldn't give up on so many things so easily..... but.... They'll must be still doing it then because i think he's just getting an implant an then carrying on with the tour because nobodys said anything about it being cancelled i don't know if he's properly going into rehab because he's already completed it

Yeah that article kind of confused me. They insinuated that an implant meant rehab.... but it actually doesn't. So yeah.... must be just an implant and that's all.

Cause the whole essence and idea with what they were has changed so much that I think if they were to reunite (all of them) it wouldn't be The Libertines anymore. It would be something else and less in some way. It just wouldn't work.. And like you said, I don't think John and Gary want it at all. I mean, why would they?

 

I've never squeeled/cried/laughed/been happier then when you posted the pictures from July, but that wasn't really a reunion was it? It was more like, two friends taking a pint with photographers around them.. I have no idea what I wanted to say so final point, Libertines-reunion won't happen.

There's something disturbing to me about the Libertines being discussed randomly in Rolling Stone magazine, because all they are to the fucking idiot editors of that magazine is a band headed by a uk junkie. I've only seen them mentioned in passing, like when reviewing DPT's album... but still. It disturbs me to think that something like that would be covered by Rolling Stone, and it probably would be. I'm kind of glad that the bands they're in now don't get AS MUCH attention as I think the Libertines would be........ I don't know why I like that, but I do. It'd be over exposed and probably unfair to the fans and slightly disgusting if it did happen. Huh.
